  • Thank you for putting Scream in there! Most people forget it... And its a great movie. :)

  • whats # 2?

  • @DeviTheDevilDemon10 are you freaking serious

  • This has to be one of the best list I have seen. Finally someone who knows what true slasher films are. I have seen best horror films "of all time list" that list Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity as scariest movies....Really? The 70's and 80's have some of the best slasher/horror films ever B rate or not.

  • HALLOWEEN still scares the hell outta me and im almost 40 lol

  • good video but it's waaayyy longer than it needs to be

  • "I see way you took so long with the movie cover, you wanted it to end with the song, most people didn't took time to think of that nice video, I seen some of the movies but not all,I would surely love see the ones I haven't seen, and you right its your video if people don't like, they have all the time an oppurtunity to make their own"

  • prom night is absolutley amazing! i love it. brilliant movie xx

  • Lol :D of cause friday the 13th, Nightmare on elm street and Halloween :D but in my oppenion is Nightmare on elm street the best (;

  • ~FUCK YEAH I HAVE & LUV ALL OF THESE!!!!!!! ;> COOL AZZ JOB MAN!

  • Dude what movie was the second?

  • @SatanLovesMetal a nightmare on elm street

  • The wizard of gore was fuckin scary! Even if you go look up the trailer, it'll freak u out.

WARNING: there is lots of gore(of course).

  • The wizard of gore freaked me right the fuck out!

  • Everyone please go to my channel and post your favorite scary movies, I'm going to make a new video, I'll also put your user name in the video! (:

  • Can't see number 2 properly

  • great list! black christmas is awsome!!!!!! its soo fucking scary!!

  • pretty good list, but man,....too long between transitions!

  • I can't believe Prom Night is on your list.

  • @Nitro64819 why? the original prom night is an essential classic 80's slasher flick.

  • @Cropsy25 Watch my review of Prom Night and see why. And by the way, it is a cult classic not a horror classic.

  • @Cropsy25 i didn't say horror classic i said slasher classic. if you like slasher films prom night is always at the top of the list when it comes to slasher films.

  • DOZER - Big Sky Theroy , I Found It Good song Though

  • dude what song is this? i like it good choices,

  • not a bad list, i'd have a few different in my top 15, but not bad at all. thanks for posting.

  • Bored

  • Little Red Riding Hood is a Slasher Film too.

  • I knew Halloween would be at number 1.

  • I like your list! The only ones that you left off in my opinion would be Hell Night and Madman

  • the choices were uninspired, but the song was catchy.

  • Scream licks faggotts assholes. Other than that your list was pretty good. You did miss a few masterpieces, But I guess thats why its just 15 ?? You forgot Hell Night, And MADMAN!!!!!! WTF DUDE??? Madman is top 3 for sure ha ha ha ha.

  • can somebody tell me something about this film the legend of bloody jack? theres not even one video clip here in youtube

  • what is the number 2 pick? i can't read the cover. it's too blurry.

  • cool list. what's the band in the background?

  • Am I the only person that like I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer?

Oh and everyone stop hating on Scream! That movie is freaking amazing. Wes Craven rocks.

  • @kody8smart8to8nella no i still know is a good movie i didn't like i'll always know but i know what you did last summer is the best 1 that movie is great but i still know is a really good sequel and i agree with u on scream its great i think the only reason these people r trying 2 hate on it is because its from the 90's and not loaded with nude shots but wether they like it or not it will always be considered 1 of the greatest horror films of all time

  • @Cropsy25 I have an odd soft spot for I'll Always Know, I realize how cheesy it is but can't find it in me to hate it... And you're absolutely right about Scream. No nudity in it made it a breath of fresh air in my opinion. It focused on what it was doing and didn't need the distraction nudity offers in slasher movies. Scream is amazing, people need to deal with it.

  • @kody8smart8to8nella yea its true and its ok about i'll always know i always had a thing 4 jaws 3 and pretty much every1 hates that 1 but idk i always liked it not as much as the first 2 but i still think its cool

  • Your list is highly suspect, all you did was named a lot of mainstream shit. You need to watch more films before proclaiming those you chose to be the top 15. I can't believe you listed Prom Night, Funhouse and especially Scream, come on man. Where was William Lustig's Maniac? Where is Nightmare aka Nightmare in a Damaged Brain

  • @ShantiG100 This is MY opinion. Not yours. If you disagree then make your own top 15 slasher films video.

  • @lrsteelers i agree with you this is your list and you shouldnt listen to him or her but i hate haloween put halloween H20

  • @TheVenom1001 you should be shot in the penis for saying that!

  • @LONDON111111111111 what the 1st movie isnt my fav but h20 is awsome to me but i like it

  • @ShantiG100

Scream brought the slasher genre back into the mainstream...just sayin

  • @ShantiG100 you seriously think scream shouldnt be in there?

  • @ShantiG100 Dude it's just his choice calm down

  • @ShantiG100 Yeah I question his placement of Scream as well, but only in the sense that it would be #2 behind Halloween. That's why it's his list and not mine or yours.

  • @ShantiG100 nightmare is a great movie

  • why does everyone always say halloween for number one?!?!?!?!?!!?!? i hated that movie! i dont see why people liked it! the acting was horrible! they sucked at telling the story, and dr. loomis was crayier then michael! he always was running around telling everyone that evil was coming, i would be so creaped out if some old guy walked up and said that to me the remake was soo much better!

  • @REKONBALL2 the original is a great movie the remake was a total sleaze fest

  • @Cropsy25 exactly!! it was waaaay more realistic that way!!

  • @REKONBALL2 yea but the beauty of the original was that he was born pure evil there was no reasone 4 y he killed he was just a psycho and thats what made it scarier and u saw enough 2 know that he was a vicious killer and relied on lots of creepy atmosphere and suspense the remake was not called for and relied on lots of gore and sex and nothing more

  • @Cropsy25 i disagree. i thought it was waaaay scarier that his family drove him to kill, your just sitting there thinking (it must suck to have them for a family. ok any mintue now he is gonna go crazy and kill people). it builds up suspence. instead of all the sudden you kills and you like, what just happend??

  • @REKONBALL2 yea well your entitled 2 your opinion but i just felt like the original was more of a classic what did u think of the other remakes like friday the 13th.texas chainsaw massacre.nightmare on elm st. or prom night?

  • @Cropsy25 well about 60% of the time i like remakes better than the original. i thought the friday the 13th remake was horrible. it was the worst in the series, it was more of a comedy than a horror movie, and the caracters are anoying as hell. the texas chainsaw massacre remake was extremely boring. and nightmare on elm street was really good, but not as scary as the original. but honestly, i liked to new freddy better than the original. prom night remake sucked! it was only PG-13. ripoff!!

  • @REKONBALL2 wow lol im totally oppisite i love friday and tcm and hated the nightmare on elm st. remake but i do agree on the prom night remake PG-13 ripoff

  • @Cropsy25 well i liked tcm remake, but i just liked the orignial a tiny tiny bit better, i thought it was weirder than the remake. and i was soo dosapointed in the friday the 13th remake, the trailers made it looks really really good, but they wound up cutting out most of the stuff that was in the trailers. and my copy of the movie was broken, so like every other scene it would freeze and then skip like 5 mintues of the movie. so technically i havent seen the whole movie.

  • @REKONBALL2 i do think they didnt do that good of a job on remaking it because it was more like a sequel but i think it made a classic friday the 13th jason style slasher movie

  • @REKONBALL2 What movie are you talkin about?

  • @REKONBALL2 I would Nightmare on Elm street was waaaayyyy scarier than Halloween and more gruesome.

  • great list mine are 1.scream 2.halloween 1978 3.i know what you did last summer 4.a nightmare on elm st. 1984 5.friday the 13th 6.prom night 1980 7.texas chainsaw massacre 8.silent night deadly night 9.happy birthday to me 10.he knows your alone 11.the burning 12.sleepaway camp 13.my bloody valentine 1981 14.the prowler 15.candyman
  • u forgot MANIAC and THE MUTILATOR,they kick SCREAMS ass...

  • @MrFonkster how can u say that scream kills those movies maniac isn't even considered a good film and mutilator was completely forgotten and look where scream is. your entitled 2 your opinion but i wouldn't compare them 2 that movie

  • and what about SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE II...

The Rock'n'Roll Killer is just Kickass!!!

  • nice list, what about slumber party massacre?

  • Scream? There's no freaking way it could make it to the top 15, not even the top 50!

  • @Jafaviti yea because it would be in like the top 5

  • @Cropsy25 Aren´t you supposed to be a fan of "The Burning", according to your screen name? So why do you support Scream instead of "The Burning"? And honestly in my humble opinion Scream is a comedy rather than a horror movie...

  • @Jafaviti so what your saying is that once your screen name has something to do with a particular movie u cant like any other movie? all im saying is scream is a movie that changed the face of horror in the 90's the horror/slasher genre was dead and scream brought life back 2 horror and it had a good sense of humor which made it even better so it may not have been your particular taste but dont act like its a bad film

  • @Cropsy25 Of course not, I was just wondering why haven´t you said anything about "The Burning", do you actually like it? Or why your screen name? I agree that Scream brought horror movies back to the scene, but that doesn´t make it a good movie, all I'm saying is that in my opinion a good horror movie is the one that is pure horror not a mix of horror and comedy (e.g. the original Halloween)

but again that's my opinion I respect yours

  • @Jafaviti i think the burning is a great slasher film i just think scream is a movie that latly has been taking some heat and i think some people need to show more respect for it its become one of the higher rated horror films for good reasones but thank you for respecting my opinion i respect the fact that u have a certain taste i just think when someone doesn't like something they should say how they feel about it but not act like the movie is pure trash thats all

  • The house on sorority row sucked balls and so do u

  • I agree with most of your list and I have all on either DvD or VHS yet. I thought "The Prowler" should've been top 5 easily, way too good of a movie. And there are 2, maybe 3 movies you left out or could switch around. "Pieces"..cult classic, gory kills..."Intruder", the unrated kill scenes are awesome for a mid 80's slasher. And if you want a under-rated, hard to find slasher flick..."Hide and Go Shriek" was decent. Good list overall though.

  • SLEEPAWAY CAMP!!!

  • Wow these look cool.

  • This is an AWESOME list! I would've put most of them in the same order, too. These are essential viewing, for any slasher fan. Every slasher fan has to see and/or own all of these.

Also, I'd like to know what other slashers you personally like, that did not make it on this list. Thanks!

  • Cool,i got em all also..I LOVE SlAsHeR films.......

  • The main character in Slaughter high committed suicide after the film was released in '88, making the film even more creepier.

  • whats the song name plz?

  • you dont have to take one hour on each fuckin pic.

  • @paulinbin360 I seriously don't give a shit!

  • @lrsteelers

Dude....I'm happy you spent a few minutes on each picture!! That way I could study the poster and didn't have to keep pausing!! Thank You!! Stellar Post and fantastic choices!! You Rock!! I put this in my Playlist for future reference!! A1+ 100%!! You win the Rocknroll Reverend Award for outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence for Spring 2010!!

  • This music is definatley NOT Led Zeppelin-Kashmir!!!! Anyone know who it is???

  • great list couldnt agree more.FYI Halloween is my favorite horror movie.

  • Great choice for #1!

  • Hey, anyone tell me who sings this tune ?

  • @rmattis100 i got your comment in my inbox but i think u were smart and removed it. first of all u know jack shit about horror movies compared 2 me and if u knew anything about horror movies u would know that i know what you did last summer is a great movie nice try though smartass. if you are such a big horror fan then your username would have to do with that and not that rmattis100 shit.

  • @Cropsy25 I was wondering where you got your degree from, since you know soooo much more about horror movies than I do. I got my Master's at NYU and did my thesis on on the slasher paradigm (actually, I juxtaposed the slasher paradigm with socio-political morays of the Regan era). Do you favor John Kenneth Muir's model of the organizing principle of slasher films, or L. Daniel Thomspon's? I'd love to hear your opinions since you know more than me. Thanks!

  • @rmattis100 Ii know what you did last summer was a book that was published in 1973 and made in2 a movie in 1997 house on sorority row came out in 1983 so maybe their opinion was not based on chronological order. Also, it looks like you are not as secure as you think since you felt compelled to parade your thesis topic for all of us insecure horror fans. I truly am a horror fan and healthy debate is encouraged, but why is it necessary to insult us "average-minded" fans??

  • @Cropsy25 Went to the Cinema Wasteland convention in Cleveland last weekend and got a chance to meet/talk with Tom Savini... I asked him a few questions (I won't bore you with all of them), but Mr. Savini mentioned that he was more satisfied and proud of the effects he did in The Burning than Friday the 13th... Just thought this would be of some interest to you. :)

  • @rmattis100 the effects in the burning were really good they show a little more of the deaths in that movie the death scenes were quiker in friday the 13th but i have 2 say i like friday the 13th better

  • @Cropsy25 OMG! Something we agree on (lol). I dig Friday the 13th's effects a little more, too. I agree that The Burning shows more gore, but I have a soft spot for good, ol' Mr. Vorhees.

  • @rmattis100 lol yea jason is probably my favorite movie villain i love michael myers and freddy 2 but somthing about the mask and the 80's look i just love i liked the new friday the 13th 2 but the originals r the best

  • @Cropsy25 Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, I do loooooove horror films. Thankfully, I'm secure enough to not feel the need to parade my admiration for them via a silly username, like Vorhees666, Myers420, Marz123, or Cropsy--err--you get my point. BTW, how do you feel about most experts of horror (i.e., Fangoria Magazine, Psychotronic, etc.) claiming that I Know What You Did Last Summer was rip-off of House On Sorority Row?

  • Here ya go Irsteelers: How about a list of famous mainstream actors that got their start in a slasher movie? I have Jamie Lee Curtis, Corey Feldman, Crispin Glover, Darryl Hannah, Kevin Bacon, Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter, Fisher Stevens, George Clooney, and Daphne Zuniga. If anyone wonders what films these folks are attached to, just ask me.... I will be happy to answer.

  • mariah careys film glitter now that is the scariest film ever

  • @mouthybitch88 That's quite possibly the funniest post I've read all day.... Seriously. :)

  • @rmattis100 well cheers buddy i do have my moments im on stage til end of april

  • @mouthybitch88 Sad news... I missed your show in April. Any chance you'll be performing in May. And what do I need to do for an official mouthybitch88 autograph? :)

  • @rmattis100 no sorry thats my tour finished up until the winter i dont do comedy during summer cos i have another job u see on my uncles farm were i have lots of duties like cleaning the shit out of the cuckoo clocks and taking the blind chickens for a shit, anyway u can get a autograph by sending away to official mouthybitch fan club it wil cost u £100 plus another 100 for postage and packaging isnt that a great deal?

  • @mouthybitch88 Sounds like an amazing deal! Unfortunately, I'd have to get another job to afford that... Erotic Dancing at the Home For the Blind just isn't cutting it.

  • lrsteelers

i must say i like ur taste in movies

  • you got to love the original texas chainsaw massacre. "You like head cheese!?"

  • @nemisis0

    Great list man!

  • i need some help folks,i like movies when there is a gang of teens go camping, road trip ect and there is a slasher killer,

can u give me names of some movies please ????

  • @STCFCFYC1

House of Wax, the butcher *2006*, Sleep away camp 1, 2 and 3, Wrong turn 1 and 2 *gory stuff but good*, the texas chainsaw massacre *Original and the current newish one* *The original has some crazy parts*, Slumber party Massacre *Series*

Just some off the top of my head, there are a ton out there though, tried to keep it to strictly teenage style age though for the victims, but yea there are so many slasher films out there it's amazing.

  • @nemisis0

One flaw. When saying House of Wax be more specific, it is a remake.

  • Comment removed

  • @STCFCFYC1 THE BURNING FRIDAY THE 13th 1-12 WRONG TURN 1-3 EXCEPT NONE OF THE WT MOVIES HAVE TEENS

  • Comment removed

  • @STCFCFYC1 Try "The Initiation", a little known gem from the eighties. For more modern slasher/horror, check out Tobe Hooper's remake of "The Toolbox Murders." Be warned: it takes place in an apartment and NOT a campsite or similar setting. It also contains no nudity/sex, just in case you're expecting it. :)

  • @rmattis100 thanks lol :)

  • No Mutilator?

  • i think i know what you did last summer is 1 of the best horror/slasher movies ever great movie

  • With a name like Cropsy how could you think such things? Modern horror films for the most part are atrocious. And isn't Fun House more of a monster movie?

  • well i know what you did last summer really isn't modern any more its a 14 year old movie and i love the 80's slashers but the 90's had great ones 2 like scream i know what you did last summer candyman and yea i do think fun house is more of a monster movie

  • Comment removed

  • nice list i got all those movies in my collection

  • whats the name of the band and track? it's amazing

  • dued friday the 13 is the best why did u puut it on #3

  • because that guy is a faqgot

  • nice list man.

    my list:

    1 halloween

    2 child's play

    3 leprechaun

    4 nightmare on elm street

  • dude i hate leprechaun is so gay its not even funny worst slasher ever.

  • agree with #1 and pretty much most of them.

  • OMG! Thank you Irsteelers!

Most other people are posting top slasher lists with just Scream, Candyman, Hellraiser (? not a slasher!), Saw, Freddy vs. Jason, Silence of the Lambs, etc...movies that haven't scraped the barrel of slashers done right. Good films, yes, but when talking about slashers, your list is what truly matters. Thank you! :)

    My list:

    1 - Sleepaway Camp

    2 - Friday the 13th '80

    3 - My Bloody Valentine '81

    4 - Black Christmas '74

    5 - A Bay of Blood

  • i luved scream

it was the greatest slasher successor and tribute film ever made

  • agree.

  • Halloween shouldn't be #1 and Nightmare on Elm Street isn't that scary

  • I agree. Halloween is much too slow paced and i always laugh a freddy's face xD

  • well yeah you see them now and you laugh at most of them . But the thing is that, halloween for example, was the one that started the slasher genre. In it's time it was really scary and even i wasn't scared when i watched it, i see why many consider it a great horror movie. Obviously now, we are used to another type of horror

  • @AlvMar0122 Well said... I realize Halloween is slow paced, but I actually think that's what makes it effective. It emphasized mood & atmosphere over quick-pacing and gore. I think with today's push for style over substance, it's no suprise why people find it boring.

  • i know its so gay oh my list is

    1.friday the 13th/halloween

    2.Texas chiansaw massacre

    3Childs play

???? well i still thinking about it (the ones you like not how scary it is.

  • it says "slasher movies"

  • Did you see the remake of House of Sorority Row just called Sorority Row?

Got any opinions on the remakes of MBV, PN, BC,TCM,FT13th and Halloween?

There are remakes of Funhouse and Nightmare on Elm Street in the works.

  • who did this song?

  • nightmare on elm top 5 easily

  • 15)Happy Birthday to Me 14)The Prowler 13)The House On Sorority Row(1983) 12)The Burning 11)Terror Train 10)My Bloody Valentine(1981) 9)Prom Night(1980) 8)Phantasm 7)Henry Portrait of a serial Killer 6)Sleepaway Camp 5)Halloween(1978) 4)Maniac 3)Black Christmas(1974) 2)Friday the 13(1980) 1)The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(1974)
  • Dozer-Big Sky Theory badass track! had to look it up i couldnt rember ; P

  • Halloween is an AWESOME movie!!!!!!!!

  • 15.) Terror Train 14.) Black Christmas 13.) Prom Night 12.) Slumber Party Massacre 11.) Silent Night, Deadly Night 10.) Maniac 9.) The Town That Dreaded Sundown 8.) The Hills Run Red 7.) Scream 6.) My Bloody Valentine 5.) Happy Birthday To Me 4.) Friday the 13th 3.) SleepAway Camp 2.) Halloween 1.) I Spit On Your Grave
  • i spit is horror?

  • you have some shitty opinions, you fucking left out texas chainsaw massacre and a nightmare on elm street, the two best

  • 60th comment.

  • Comment removed

  • i know what you did last summer is such a trendy piece of shit and thats not just an opinion

  • no i know what you did last summer kicks ass and it had a great story it was a hit at the box office being 1 of the highest grossing films of 1997 not many horror films made as much mony as it did its been made fun of many times but its still 1 of the most popular horror films around

  • it has one of the most generic story lines ive ever heard. the amount of money it made means nothing and neither does popularity. most horror movies after the early 90s suck anyway..

  • it is true that a lot of horror movies sucked after that time but scream and i know what you did last summer stand out im not saying that money and popularity r what counts im just saying i think it was a great movie i just thought the fisherman guy was really cool and stuff plus it was 1 of the first horror movies i ever saw so its kinda special 2 me

  • I suppose you think the Halloween remake was a top-notch film? You obviously have no taste in movies.

  • no i actually hated the halloween remake but i do think i know what you did last summer is a top-notch film and phantasm is not a slasher film and maniac is a sick piece of trash not a slasher movie obviously u dont know slasher films

  • well, really I do like I know what you did last Summer, but Maniac is not rubbish. I put Phantasm because I like that movie so much that I put it in there. I know it's not a slasher, but I hold the movie so close to me because it was one of the first horror movies I watched when I was little. I am biased so what?

  • well y did u flip out on me and tell me i had no taste and that i must love the halloween remake?

  • Well, because you think the old classics are bad. Nowadays in the horror community, people hate the oldies and love the bad remakes like Halloween. I'd say that it's a whopping 86% that loves the Halloween remake and other bad movies and remakes. Me and you are in the 14% class, who try to hold onto the classics. Sorry. BTW which Black Christmas were you talking about. the original or the remake?

  • no its ok im sry 2 i understand what your saying i 4got i made a comment about black christmas i was tawlking about the old 1 but i dont normally make fun of the old movies i do that just 2 c what ppl say lol but black xmas is not 1 of my favorites but it is still a classic so sry about that and im with u on the remake thing some of them r good but now they r going way 2 far theres no plot 2 them anymore

  • It's good man. I mean, I hate the original House On Haunted Hill, and I like the remake. It's okay if you don't like the original Black Christmas. And you're right, the remakes are getting ridiculous. They are not putting anything into them. They just want to put in hot women and a shitload of fake blood to give us what they think is worth the 13 bucks we pay to watch them. And now they are running out of American Classics so they are going foreign, taking their classics. It's disgusting.

  • yea but the original black xmas is way better than the remake lol but i think the texas chainsaw remake was great i know alot of ppl dont like it but i thought it was just as good as the original and the hills have eyes remake was really good 2 i thought and i think the new fri 13 made a good jason movie but a bad remake it was really just another sequel not as good as the originals though but most of them just suck

  • I know, the Original Black Christmas is the best. I don't know why it was remade in the first place. Oh, and I like the Hills Have eyes remake. I also liked the Friday the 13 remake. I agree that it is a good addition to the series but remake-wise it was so-so. but I was glad that they brought back fast jason. Most people argued that he never ran. In Friday the 13 part 2, he ran. They forget that movie. And after Friday the 13 part 5 they all suck ass.

  • yea lol i liked that better 2 but i loved all the friday the 13ths except for 5 and 9 and i hated 10

  • friday the 13th part 5 is awesome sucker

  • its ok but u hate horror films and u hate the friday the 13th

  • nice try kid i was loving friday the 13ths and more when you were in diapers

  • u should still be in diapers skid marks

  • your 3 days too late dumb ass

  • i didn't even get your gay comment till 2day u bitch and get out of here u hate slasher movies u even told me your scared of them

  • its been there you clown, and i loved them longer and way more then you ever will, and i'm sure i said that you damn retard

  • u just cant handle the fact that i like them more than u stupid hoe go back 2 watching the grudge and i do like friday 5 i just didn't love it as much as the others and u your self menchond like 10 different movies that u liked b4 friday the 13th there in my number ones fool
