@GibsonSpecialist Actually Jonny is shaking a lemon in the basement videos not Thom, and in this case I'm gonna have to go ahead and say thats totally an orange dude.
In my opinion this is absolute garbage. They were once a cool band but turned into this "huge electronic beat making box" band? Since when did you need a big box to make casino piano beats? Is this done in Radiohead shows because it's only Thom and Jonny.
@elefantkaputt Who cares what the huge electronic box is called? It was merely incidental to my argument, being that this video sucked. And did you mean "noob?" I watched your videos of you playing the bass and while you're not terrible, you're definitely in no position to be calling anyone a noob.
And you clearly are one of those blind followers for anything radiohead! One of these elitist fans who think that anything they touch turns to gold. How does that big electric box make those beats? What a strange instrument.
@weekendchannel2 Controlling the synthesiser. Look up about how modular synthesisers work, it'll explain it a little. I think each cable carries the signal of a particular drum sound. So when unplugs the kick cable, the kick stops. Etc.
It's really cool to see them to turn these songs to minimalistic sing alongs. p.s. will somebody tell me what the wire-box jonny is playing is called and what it does.
@Thedahdumdum Jonny's playing an analogue 'modular synthesizer'. Basically it's a bunch of oscillators and other devices which can be plugged into one-another with various wires and such. Search youtube for "Idioteque AS modules cover" there's a video of a guy doing a cover of idioteque with one.
Why does security always seem so poker faced and stoic? They seem to never enjoy the music. I know its their job to be serious and all, but c'mon now...i know that beat behind them has to be making them wanna dance and shit.
@sonic777111 it's an analogue systems modular synthesizer in 3 sections. the top one is the sequencer which keeps the beats going. search for "questions in dialect" to see this gear hooked to a modified tv.. pretty cool
I love how intimate this performance would have been for you - super jealous! I also love at 03.14 the 2 security guys just standing there like nothing is going on :)
@redcommando1 and what at all does she have to do with radiohead or this video? you know she doesn't have to be mentioned on every fucking video. she's not that great.
There are a lot of versions out there, this is kind of a hybrid. It works out perfect to the record, though, and fits my voice properly since I can't do that fucking falsetto.
Hee, I love how the crowd's singing drops out on "Here I'm allowed," because no one can hit the high notes that Thom does. (Seriously, has any man over 40 ever had such an amazing falsetto?)
@aylid indeed no one can hit those notes in the crowd. i have to say though you are forgetting about Neil Young, who happens to be one of Thom Yorke's major vocal influences, and has fantastic falsetto for his age. but yes i would rank Thom up with him!
@Elotium Weird coincidence. My father is a huge neil young fan-addict, and Im a huge Thom Yorke fan. Both kinda weird figures with unique voices and great songwriting ability. I thought it was kind of cool when I heard Young was a big influence.

@Redrum267 Agree that he is a very important member of the band, but totally disagree that without him the band would be dry and boring. wat makes radiohead the brilliant band that they are is that EVERY member is great in their own way. thom and jonny clearly are the stand outs tho. i think thom is my favourite because he is the driving force behind their concepts. the eraser material alone proves that the band would be brilliant without jonny. with jonny they r like the second coming of christ

what the fuck a retarded audience. who wants to hear drunk people singing when thom yorke and greenwood are playing idioteque? glad i wasnt there faggots!
@347UMOM Firstly, I'd like to state that I was here and wasn't drunk and neither were a majority of the people there, you try drinking warm beer in that extreme heat. Secondly, I paid 185 pound for a ticket, along with over £50 on travel to get there and back, so I, and the other 175,000 people will do whatever the hell we want to so we ensure we are enjoying the music. And I'm glad you wasn't there cause this was a magical moment, something you obviously wouldn't appreciate.
