These things are good in snow. I have an '03 so I know. With a proper set of snow tires, they will go almost anywhere and are a blast to drive .I took mine up to the Canyon Vista at World's End on an unplowed road with about 4-5 in. of snow and it was a blast.
@northbee15 Thanks - Have you had any major issues with the Jeep? JW b/c my girlfriend is looking for a new SUV that has 4x4. She drives a lot for her business and we live were it snows at least four months out of the year. So just wondering how you like it and if you had any problems with this Jeep? thanks again
@icotech - it's equipped with the 'selec trac' transfer case, so when in 4HI or 4LO it locks the front and rear driveshafts...so all tires rotate at the same speed.
I took my Liberty through deeper snow than this with the original crap tires. I kept the same size and went to a more aggressive tread. The performance in snow is even better now.
FYI the best winter performance I ever experienced from a vehicle was in an '86 Ford Escort. That car was a snow mobile in a previous life. High centered it on a block of ice once though.
I have an 03 liberty, and it WILL go through this amount of snow. I pulled a snowmobile trailer with two sleds on it through that amount, going around full size pickups stuck in a field after a heavy snowfall in the upper peninsula. No Joke!! These things are unbelievable in snow!!
@michaelhass1975 yea they're not too bad. My '03 with stock tires does well. I live up here in the PA endless mtns. and I was actually able to get through 15" while going slightly uphill in wet snow lol. I was pulling like 4,000 rpms going like 5 mph. but it was fun as hell :).
I have a Liberty and there is no way mine could do what your did .First off it has an open rear differential as well as the front .It got stuck on my driveway in a heavy snowfall that was not close to as much as you got there .If you installed electric lockers on your differentials then maybe .As far as I know none came from the factory with limited slip .
I would say the Cherokee would be a good choice for that type of snow .
@asssface2000 Fuck you & anybody that even looks like you ..At least you chose the right name for yourself , just include fuck brain& you're all in ..
Listen here shit for brains --the fuck'n Liberty is a good little truck but with many compromises to keep the price down.
Once one axle starts slipping in high snow you're done since they have an open differential .-Jeep should have made lockers optional just like the wrangler .
Learn something before spouting that vomit from your monkey brain ..
@millwrightman99 yeah how many 4x4 are available with selectable lockers much less any kind of traction device in the diffs. very few. dodge power wagons, rubicons, and zr2's. everything else on the market is open diffs. you just learned some shit.
Limited slip is the very least these trucks should come with .Open differentials are only good in the dry--- .wake up and smell the coffee .besides that most fords come with limited slip even though they ride like shit -- all fuck'n Explorers have it as standard ..
@millwrightman99 reading comprehension? i never said open diffs were good, they suck but thats what 99% of trucks and SUV's come with. ive never seen a ford other than a mustang with factory locking diff. fords are notorious for sucking shit offroad. just like you im sure.
@millwrightman99 I have a Grand Cherokee and I sure wouldn't try it, Chrysler really dropped the ball on these, Cherokees and older GC. I believe top of the line GCs came with Trac-lok but it was a horrible system that didn't last long. Vari-lok was better but still not great.
@wifebeater756 Yes the Jeep is stock (with skitplates) - except the tires. I removed the crappy all season tires and put on some all terrain tires (they had 60,000 miles on them back in Jan when this video was shot)
@northbee15 XJ > POS that replaced that replaced it because a specifec German from Daimler wanted something different, it has heavier, slower, taller(more prone to rollovers), uglier, not as good off road, and the list goes on..... At least it's better than those shitty Compasses and Patriots.

Beautiful photography. I even love it when you can see the photograper's tracks in the snow to get the right angle. Great work.

Вас бы в Сибирь да еще в снег глубиной с 1 метр, твердый как лед. Grand Cherokee плохо едет тоже. А вот Тойота Ленд Крузер - супер.
