  • about...the DOGS, its a ranch! there are going to be animals running around. they didnt have the exact time the foal was going to arrive so obviously they wouldnt be able to get the dogs put away.

  • my best friebd owns tiger...she is in a wonderful home...very caring family with two brothers JT and Trouble. Hey... stop doggin on the vid. you guys have anything better to do..the woman has been there to help foal many and is amazing leave it alone.they dont need negative comments the owner is doing fine.the foal is in driving training.

  • Hello everybody. This is my mare, Lena's Lana and I missed the birth. After spending nights waiting, I had to attend an event when Lana decided to have her baby. It probably worked out for the best. I would have been a wreck. For those concerned about the mare and foal. Lana and Tigerlilly are wonderful and were never in any danger. Tigerlilly is enjoying her life with her wonderful family and Lana is working hard trail riding and driving. Hi to everybody at Stoney Point Ranch. Miss you.

  • True. lapatronadelrancho is Tiger's original owner/breeder. Just how does one pronounce "lapatronadelrancho"?

  • La Patrona del Rancho, translation = the ranch boss.

  • My mare is going to have a foal in June. an app. Very Pretty Horse you have there! Congrats on the foal!

  • Ok, so have any of the ppl in this video actually experienced childbirth?? I have, and ok, shes is a horse, but the last thing i wanted wen my boy was born, was to have everybody, and their friends, and their DOGS (natural preditor?) screaming and shouting all around me! Granted, some horses need assistance during foaling, but DOGS running around? come on man, dont think its fair, ay. Jus an observation, not meant with mallice, the mare is lovely. Reply welcome

  • The women in the video have children of their own. The mare went into labor unexpectedly, at an odd time of day for a mare. The dogs bonded with the baby, along with the rest of us. Mother is fine, baby is now 1 1/2 and adorable. The circling buzzards (not in picture) did not get the afterbirth.

  • did the mom die?????????:o

  • It was a routine birth, just at an odd time.

  • No.

  • good one!

  • This mare just took a blue ribbon with a score of 83.5 at the Southern California Norwegian Fjord Horse Conformation Evaluation in Fallbrook, California. Not bad for a back yard Fjord.

  • look at the anxious daddy pacing by the fence

  • The horses in the background are mares.

  • There's a norwegian fjord at my riding school and he is beautiful like all fjords!!!!

Grade 10's, 11's and 12's all hate grade 9's so stop acting like a popular kid ur an effing LG(little Girl) and i can pretty much guarantee by the way ur acting, that U HAVE NO FRIENDS!!!

  • Ok. I know the owners. in fact i know everybody there and they are all great people so leave them alone. The mother is great and the foal is amazing. she is under great training. You chicks dont even know the owners the foal or the mare so leave it alone. They owner is my best friend in the entire world so stuff it!!!

  • I love these videos.. It's so great when the horse first kisses her baby.

  • Beauitul mare and foal!

  • Fjord horses are beautiful. They are fun ro ride too! I have family that breeds them! Great horses!

  • Oh Yer.. Lovely Mare And Foal. hope they have a great life! =]=]=]

  • Serious Shut Up people! If You Really Did Love Horses You Wouldnt Care What Breed they are because they are all beautiful. And just because there were many people around who cares ovbiouly not the mare because she was settled some horses try and get up whilst givin birth as they are stressed.

  • 1. Fjords are NOT Draft horses

    2. 'tractorsrock' Do you know ANYTHING about being in a breeding business?? Or ANYTHING about breeding? Sometimes, mares will need help foaling. It is sometimes BEST if they have help.

    I'm done.

  • In the internet everyone is a expert Aiedial. Some people like to let nature take its course. Of course others who are heavily invested in their horses will take nothing to chance. It makes a difference when you have a 10k +investment versus a 1K investment

  • as a matter of fact YES! i do! Ok im only 14 but i have seen more mares than i can count foal alone! THE NATURAL WAY! Minus the dogs running around and the 50 billion audience members shouting encouragement! If the mare needs help let one or two experienced people go in and quietly do what they need to do!

    IM DONE!

  • Your an idiot, you know that, right?

  • And why do you say that dear :D

  • DONT call me dear. In the videlo, there are 3 PEOPLE, 2 helping the mare and 1 video taping. LEARN TO COUNT AND GROW UP!

  • :O DEAR a bit of anger management is in order i do believe! You see DEAR i do not believe in calling others idiots! I believe we should all love one another DEAR! Do you get my drift DEAR???? Bye bye DEAR! talk soon okies :]]]]

BTW: IM JUST BULLSHITTING AND YOU ARE THE IDIOT HERE :]]].......dear <3

  • VERY mature. How old are you? 4? You have no right to be calling me dear. I am much older than you and I have been in the breeding business much longer than you have. There is no anger in my last comment.

  • Yeah ok dear, I don't need yer life story, if you think im an idiot, why are you bothering to waste your energy telling me so? Get off this page and go do something WORTHWHILE ok? Get a life maybe? Or as you CLAIM to do, go breed some horses, OR BETTER YET, GO BREED WITH some horses.....DEAR :] Btw im 14 but ive no problem with u calling my 4! toodle pip....DEAR :D

  • i have to really say something..and forgive me when i say this..but how can you tell someone to go do something worthwhile instead of being here wasting their energy..but you are here doing the same thing and arguing with them? >.< aren't you being a bit of a hypocrit?

  • no..... well yes probably but...meh what are your views on the matter???? Do u agree with them or me?

  • I agree with anyone disagreeing with you. I'm 14 as well but I'm not nearly as naive as you are. That mare was obviously not stressed about the people in the least. Why would anyone interfere? Because assisting the mare can not only prevent complications, but it can make the entire process easier for the mare. In response to the audience members: it's the middle of the day at a boarding stable. What did you expect?

  • hey, dixiechick101, shut the hell up. fjords are gorgeous. thats just like me saying "humans are a disgrace to this world." so shut up you fool. those horses have all the rights an arabian does to this land.

  • lol no it's not...

it would be more like "black people are a disgrace to the human race" (not saying that that's true just giving a more correct analogy)

  • wat do u mean she must have thought she was in ireland! and why are you interfering! leave her alone! just get out of her pen and stop laughin and shouting! the mare can deliver her own foal without your assistance!

  • ug shut up! you weren't there so you wouldn't know. no one gives a shit about what you have to say if it's negative. do you really think the owner of this horse is going to read your comment and be influenced by it the next time they deliver a foal?

  • omg, fjord horses are one of the ugliest breeds of horse their a disgrase to the equine kind

  • omg like you are one of the ugliest humans, you are a disgrace to the human kind

  • Amazing amount of interference and lack of privacy for the mare. Even a dog running round the pen!

  • That's nothing. You should have seen the peanut gallery watching (I was one of the peanuts). There's just no privacy at a public boarding stable. She must have thought she was in Ireland, where it was suitably dark at the time.

  • i just got a new fjord. theyre gr8 horses. i would luv 2 breed her 1 day

  • That must be amazing to see. I hope my Fjord horse mare may deliver a cute little one, one day! What was it called btw?

  • why did you have to interfere so much?

  • I was taking pictures. It's best to have the baby clear the birth canal, and get those rear feet away from where they can do lethal damage to the mother. Otherwise, what interference?

  • Comment removed

  • We call them fjording in Norway :)

  • Was the mare sedated? She looked pretty... uh, sedate, compared to the behavior I've observed in birthing mares in person. And yes, it's Norwegian Fjord, they're not considered a strictly draft breed.

  • This was a daytime birth, thus, we were all a little surprised. Very straightforward, no complications, and an apparently short labor. No drugs were administered, placenta delivery was complete. The vet came later. She's a good girl!

  • There's no such thing as a "Norwegian draft", is there? They're Norwegian Fjord Horses. duhh..
