  • the cook doesn't look at all like a parent, even less looking like a caring mother figure, like a cook who is called mum, there's no mum or dad feeling. I read it was supposed to mean that the heinz mayo turns every mother into a New York deli chef. That message is lost, it's all about his relationship with the "dad". Why doesn't the cook kiss the boy and a girl, or hug them, like "moms" or "dads" do. The "mom" kisses dad. Kids are not important. He's only a cook, who gets to be called "mom".Bad

  • I love the ending! "Straight home from work sweet cheeks" LoL

  • Guys, she didn't call him "mom" because he's the mother figure. She's actually a woman who is the mom. The ad is saying that you'll feel so much like a New York Deli when using this mayo so they exaggerated that by making her an actual deli guy. Lol. The gay kiss was just to top it off and make it super hilarious. Though not to laugh at same-sex kisses.

  • @Aquatom95

Or it's just a gay couple.

  • @BioticBeach My theory makes more sense -__- In a real gay parenthood, the kids would call them both dad or use their names to avoid confusion. Not make one mom and the other dad

  • @Aquatom95

Are you in a gay relationship? What makes a gay relationship -real- anyway?

  • @BioticBeach ....when it's not played by actors in a tv commercial >.> And I'm gay actually

  • @Aquatom95

As am I. And as is my sister. She's married, they call her wife dad. Soooooo ">.>" back at you.

  • @Aquatom95 Was surprised how many people missed the point.

  • I think the video is cute. Broken or not.. do we not NEED more videos showing family togetherness regardless of the specifics?? ISNT that more important than the rest of the odds and ends fueded over here? WE NEED close family bonds and to grow that further.. that is the point.

  • Agree they are both DAD,feels, the same love,or is the mom, who only give love?,what happens with dady.

  • i love this its a great epression on how even know theres both dads he is still a great role model for his children and btw call him dad not mom i have two moms and i call them MOM

  • That me laugh a little! So cute :D

  • I can't tell if its either homophobic or sexist. It's both really. Not funny, and very backwards.

  • This ADS is so fuckin bad, a 2 men relationship is not like playing "you're the boy I'm the girl"... besides that we can't injure gay homes for kids, seeing all that straight families that are like hell for their children.

  • Wow! I would love parents like these guys! And you just know the sex is TERRIFIC!!

  • This is sooo cute and sweet "straight home from work, sweet cheeks" if people think that this is funny is mean at lest it's (I think) it's trying to send out a massage

  • I don't see why people should laugh at this.

  • D'aww, that's actually a really cute advert. :)

"Straight home from work, sweet cheeks!" <3 :D xx

  • rofl

  • I don't think it's even ment to be gay.. The "mum" is still a woman but as said below with the spread can be as good as a pro cook.

  • The "Mum" is supposed to still be a woman, but that she simply becomes a NY Deli Chef once she uses Heinz, pretty simple, but I think because of the "Gay" kiss the message gets lost, and why was it banned? This I hate. Shame.

  • I think this commercial was trying to make the point that moms (with heinz I guess rofl) are just as good as pro cooks, the execution wasn't all that great so the point there was lost, so it looks more like a commercial made by people who don't understand gay parenting. :|

  • AW cute! but aren't they both supposed to be dads? whatever still nice idea.

  • CUTE!

  • LOL! I love it! Sooooo sweet =] "I love you... Straight home from work, sweet cheeks!" Soooo damn cute! <3

  • Aw, this is so SWEET :)

  • That is the most adorable ad I've ever scene!! 5 stars!

  • Hope it's really good on sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. THe commercial is really sweet and it reminds me of my parents...if they made me lunch for school.

  • ahah i love this commercial!

  • Bahaha! Cute.

  • Haha mad bastards :P

  • I think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I luv it!

  • einfach nur geil !!! ^^

  • LOLZ, this is sooo cute!

  • Aww that's sweet ^_^

  • HAHA

you could see it coming, but its an awesome ad

  • lol funny.

  • lol...

    that was kool... lol

  • this is sooo cute!

  • aww

  • So funny and very unexpected

  • ☺/

    /▌

    / \

  • so cute!

  • i love this commercial =)

  • lol this is fantastic :D

  • How come I've never seen these commercials on tv?

  • It was banned

  • Which is STUPID. Just because it shows two men doing nothing more then kiss. If it was a Man & Woman kissing, no one would have a cow, But since it''s 2 men, homophobes have to ruin it for everyone else.

  • D'aww.

  • what a cute family!

  • i'm not against gay men -- am gay myself -- i just think the ad itself it stupid ---- he's still "Dad".. they're just both "dad"

  • same here. i agree with you

  • I think the point of the ad is to imply that using the mayo makes the mother as good at making sandwiches as a NYC deli guy.

  • Yeah. I think this is Heinz trying to be gay friendly but not really knowing how the culture works =)

My friend has two dads. He calls one dad, the other papa/pop. They're both his father.

But even if they got one piece wrong, at least they tried!

  • @shimmian You see, it's not really meant to represent a gay couple - it's saying the special mayonnaise makes the typical English mum into a New York deli guy. Silly, but whatever.

  • fuck you queer thats my dad

  • Dead funny ad. You might know it would upset some minority. Sadly you need a sense of humour to appreciate it. Normal men will just laugh at it because it could never happen to them and religious nuts will object purely on principle "...God didn't intend that men should kiss!" Tell that to a few of your evangelist buddys. Closset queens will of course hate it because it makes them uncomfortable about themselves. Am I right Tommytrimble or what? Know what I mean

  • why the fuck are the kids calling him MUM? and why does the guys voice turn all tony soprano when he wants a kiss. what a dumb advert.

  • Sweet. :)

  • i love his hand movements

  • you see! it doesn't matter if the parents are straight/gay/whatever!!! as long as they are good parents, the children are in good hands!! this commercial needs to be aired. it's funny and cute too! <3 long live good parenting from anyone who is able no matter what!!

  • awesome!!!! I love it!

  • :PPPPPPP

  • haha i love it!

  • I fall in love, that man is so handsome, i love you!!!

  • CUTE

  • OH MY LORD

this is the most terrible horrible terrible thing that i or any other person in the world has ever seen ever

i may now go hang myself for being so insulted

    incase you're not sure

    i AM being sarcastic

  • Its a Big misconception that homosexual couples dont provide stable homes (for children) when actually they do. Even though they aren't women they're very good mothers for young girls both providing a feminine amd masculine role. While doing just the opposite for boys also the children are open minded about these things

    and

    Damn All Homophobes

  • Wauw... as a gay man I can't thank you enough for saying that... WELL SPOKEN!! (;

  • Thankies for the reply.

I love gettin' positive feed back.

    (^_^)

  • @Julyiss "Damn All Homophobes" Hypocrite. How can you expect people to show you tolerance when you yourself curse everybody who disagrees with your lifestyle? Expect to be treated how you treat people. Or better yet just show everyone kindness and love and then even if they don't return it, they're in the wrong.

  • @fmandwc2 How am I a hypocrite? I am not homophobic and neither are my parents. I don't expect people to show me tolerance. I do not curse those who disagree with my lifestyle, I have two heterosexual male and female parents. And I treat people BETTER than how I expect to be treated. It's common courtesy in my family. And I am kind to everyone unless they attack me or my loved ones. Please do not speak as if you know me because you know nothing about me or my beliefs. Blessed be.

  • @Julyiss common courtesy in your family is to curse everybody whom you disagree with? How is that treating people better than you expect to be treated. You should treat people how you want to be treated. Also, I know you by your words, a manifestation of your beliefs, at least if you're honestly living up to your beliefs. Either way, it's just not a good practice to say things like "Damn all x" where x is anybody or any group of people. By the way Wicca is not a good religion, by its morals.

  • @fmandwc2 How am I cursing everybody who disagrees with me? You really read too much into things. And my one little end statement was said in sarcasm, in society today an ad like this won't be shown on t.v because being a homosexual is still a taboo. I don't truly believe people who are homophobic are wrong in any way. As the word describes they are afraid of the concept of a person loving someone of the same gender. The rule of Wicca is Harm None better than the Bible to me and less confusing.

  • @Julyiss Again, my only problem with your original comment is that you said "Damn all homophobes." Do you not believe that to insult someone or a group of people is to intend to emotionally hurt them? If so, then you are not following your own Wiccan standards. If so, the Bible's morals (as well of those of a ton of other religions) would be better.

  • @fmandwc2 Again, it was said with sarcasm. I truly do not wish anyone harm. Two years ago I was Christian not Wiccan. And my standards are my own I am eclectic. This comment was posted TWO years ago my views and opinions have changed since then.

  • @fmandwc2 now your being hypocritical. and don't you expect any courasy from me, cause i don't even want to hear from you again. your bashing on wiccians now to. simple way you could have expressed your views on her original comment is by saying "you shouldn't be generalizing all homophobes"

see then you wouldn't have looked likea total dick head. shut up and get a life

  • @Julyiss i too think that gayism is a sickness that we absolutely have to find a remedy for!

  • @laser1675 Gayism is not a sickness. I do not agree with you. I think it is just a different lifestyle people choose to live. There is nothing wrong with it.

  • vielleicht könnten solche clip Opel retten

  • wow, somebody is insecure

  • I'm glad Heinz isn't homophobic, but this ad was pretty lame.

  • I believe that more general advertising should depict gay couples as equals to straight couples. It's a step forward to a world where being gay isn't seen as something wrong or a mistake. There are gay citizens in the world and country. They are part of the community.

  • sweet cheeks, lol that was funny and cute lol

  • Wow, this commercial is great! What needs to happen in order to bring equality to the GLBT community is to have it be shown as being as normal and regular a thing as anything else, and having gay couples in everyday commercials would be a big step. We see hundreds, if not thousands of ads every day, so why must all of them only depict straight couples? it would do a lot towards having people accept GLBT people as being normal if they were shown more often in the media.

  • "My God's a bigot and I like him"

  • what has Mayo got to do with being gay? i don't see the connection and i imagine this marketing campaign probably did tremendous damage to sales of mayo. oddly enough i actually bought some Heinz Mayo for the first time ever a week ago. why did i buy it? cuz it was the cheapest on the shelf (true story).

  • HAHA...a mayo commercial...get it..why dont they have this stuff in america...i would be SOOO happy

  • Sweet Cheeck? I don't even get that, but I do get the kiss. LOL! Great commercial!

  • What I dont get is the "MUM" why ?

the rest is super cool - DAD yes but MUM ???

    Doesnt make sens at all

  • I don't see what the problem is in the commercial. I think these FCC people are assholes.

  • I think it was probably the "sweet cheeks" comment that did it lol

Personally, loved the ad, thought it was really cute.

  • Haha! That's HILARIOUS! Get it? The Brooklyn deli guy is a housewife! That's really funny.

  • Being backward?... Cos your gay doesn't mean you BACKWARD... people who HATE gays and so forth are backwards =<

  • No. Mississippi is considered a backward state because we're so poor when compared with other states.

We are commanded to hate the sin and love the sinner. I have a gay neighbor and he's a fine man. Very thoughtful person. When someone broke into my house, he was the first one I called to warn him the teenagers were back at the pilfering again. God will judge him, not me. God will judge us all by his word. As for me, I pray for sinners. Somebody pray for me please. I'm a sinner, too.

  • I'll be praying for you, but not because you're a sinner.

because you're a fundie moron. God will judge you. "My God's a bigot and I like him"

  • The Old Testament no longer applies to Christians. Otherwise we would be stoned to death for eating shelfish. This is in the same chapter as the homophobic parts.

Christ came to tell us to love each other, and all sins are forgiven. So either you are a bigot who is using Gods word to judge others in His name, ignoring christs comandments (both sins), or you are a bigot who hides behind 4000+ year old shepherds bigotry because they are ignorant.

Having said that, this is a stupid advert.

  • WEEEeeeeeeee.....I'm sin full!!!!! *dances*

  • you are poor in Missisippi is because your So Baptist church was set up to support slavery and segregation - Amerrica's greatest crime.

And America knows the south sucked for so long, though it is improving. But get this - your churches poisoned society there. And people dont want to be there..

your love the sinners, hate the sin -, I realize that you probably have a hard time comprehending it really is a message of hatred to the more advanced parts of the country. Sorry, the truth hurts.

  • I don't think that it has anything to do with a gay couple.....I think that the "mother" sort of embodied a deli man when she used the product. Cool Advert.....we need more originality nowadays!!!!

  • maybe the kiss lasted a little too long, but whatever. this is funny and should not have been banned.

  • it was banned? thats lame, nd intolerant -_-

  • simple and efficace. real nice. not complicated. just simple and clear. Super.

  • i saw this the other week on tv

  • Oh my God! That was GREAT!!! People have NO imagination any more... Deli Mayo... Did no one notice that everyone in the commercial was British except the Deli guy... Who was your stereotypical New York Deli guy... Come ON people!!! I love this ad... It is awesome!!

  • hahhahaha, this was amazing. surprised to see a gay add for hienz. go hienz!

  • Amazingly beautiful...

  • Hahahaha, SWEET CHEEKS.

  • Do people not realize that this is getting more attention with all the media than if the add had just ran. Doesnt anyone think that they may have just planned it that way? I mean the ad was only supposed to run 5 weeks on a few stations. Thats the brilliant part, that fact that we are spend more time on this ad then we would otherwise and you know id be curious to see how much of that mayo has been sold since.

  • There in lies the great scheme of the free market. Contraversity sell! They hit the nail on the head on that one.

  • It's not even about homosexuals. Like Duh.

  • In no way is this offensive... in fact it's cheekily brave of them... nice advert Heinz!

  • I giggled a lot when I saw this. There was all this bruhaha around and then it's just a funny and really point on commercial.

  • do people not actually get the advert?

honastly i think the ending with the kiss is quite funny ( just serves to make it more ridiculous)

British people suck sometimes. and Heinz need to get their act together.

and furthermore DONT LABEL IT AS A GAY KISS! its not about that.

  • how sweet =3

  • I think the ad is brilliant. Simple message -- Deli style mayo -- as good as you'd get in a real NY style deli. Humorous twist. The gay or gender discussions are invalid.

  • One of the few who actually gets the idea!

  • I think their relationship is so cute.

I do hate the whole "mum" thing though.

  • yea I don't get why he has to be called "mum," it panders to the gay stereotype of one being the "woman" and the other being the man when they're both in fact men. Other than that though this commercial is fine, sweet, funny, and cute.

  • Controversy or no, this is a bad ad. There's no explanation of why you'd want a NY Deli flavor in your sandwich. All it would have needed is some comment about "her" sandwiches being the best and the kids being the envy of everyone in school. Maybe the kid could have picked up 2, as my friend's son used to, so that he could sell one at school. Made a fortune that kid! Lots of missed opportunities to speak to the brand - the kiss is actually funny...if pointless in context.

  • well, in NY that's how Deli guys are dressed and that's how they talk so it really reminds one of a New York deli...

  • I agree it is kinda dumb. Maybe they should redo it to bring it back.

  • Contact Heinz to bring it back.. demand it !! ..Heinz Foodservice, South Building, Hayes, Park Hayes, Middlesex, UB4 8AL Tel: 0800 57 57 55

  • It's an AD! Why cant we concentrate our energies on the real issues on this planet?

This is an advert for mayo for god's sake not an incitement for homophobic rhetoric or theories on sexuality.. IT'S AN ADVERTISMENT and it's funny! Has everyone lost their minds? I thought that one of the main characteristics that set us apart from the animals was that human beings had a sense of humour & the ability to laugh at ourselves. Get a grip! This is Mayo not War, or Death or Disease..Mayo!

  • What a cop-out! This isn't meant to be "two men" - it's meant to be the representation of what "Mum" becomes when she uses the product! Okay, it's a cop-out as far as "gay" goes, but it's a hysterical commercial.

  • Cute, but it would have been better is they both were dad...

  • i'm gay, and i think this commercial is stupid. i'm glad they pulled it of the air, not because of the guys kissing, but because its just dumb.

  • Oh no, the gay agenda is melting my brain!

  • queenmorgan23 is a gay liberal

  • I am now considering boycotting Heinz.

  • HA! Love it!

  • All would be cool if this kids wont call this gay guy "Mom " Why not Dad ? hes man not woman ?

  • It is pathetic that they pulled this ad. Unless they plan on pulling each and every advertisement that shows kissing between people of ANY gender, they need to stop being discriminatory jerks and put the ad back up. The ad was FINE.

  • I think its wonderful. Whether it be a mom acting like a New Yorker deli guy or a gay family period, I think it is good. There need to be more gay ads out. Like that Dolci and Gabana ad on TV with the guys kissing wach other and the girls kissing each other, flashing their awesome watches.

  • this is so stupid who ever thought it would be a gay commercial... at the end it says with the New York Deli flavour, so its not "GAY" its just the mom is acting like a new yorker.....

  • err its an ad?

  • PEPPERMASTER - GO FUCK YER SELF IDIOT!

  • Shouldn't be any more controversial than a guy and girl kissing. 'Some people are gay - get over it'. Nothing wrong with this ad.

  • Yeah; they aren't a gay couple... it's just saying that the mayo is so good that anyone making a sandwich, in this case the mom, might as well be a New York Deli person because it is that good.

Nice to see the joke went over everyone's head...maybe that's why they pulled the ad?

  • OMG, I feel like an idiot...it went over my head! I'm glad you posted that comment...I like the ad even more now!!!

  • That is a really sweet ad. I'm in the US and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. At least the companies over in the UK would even consider airing this.

  • I think it's a really sweet ad. Who cares if it's a gay couple? Why does it even matter?

  • Does this mean we ban football... everytime they score they kiss each other.... when are the narrow minded homophobic fools gonna wake up and smell the coffee??? sad sad sad sad

  • Wow. Are people too stupid to get the joke? Deli style mayo so the "mum" suddenly looks and talks like a New York deli guy. Anyone notice everyone else in the ad sounds british? Get the joke people!!

  • Thanks for the sanity check, badmojo71! I did get it, and wrote Heinz to tell them they should have let bigots stew in their own stupidity!
