Gorilla Glue works great. It is a water cure glue so wet one piece before adhering. One word of caution...this glue will foam as it cures, so you may have to do some scraping before sanding.

Great idea! It looks really nice. You can buy shorter screws at Home Depot, just make sure they are the same diameter. :)

The door is so real looking, great job. Can't wait to see the inside after you decorated. For the door knob the screw size is 8.32 3/8 in or 1/2 in long, I have researched it in person and drove the guy at the hardware place nuts.
