"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
@BeatlesFan6270 I actually get this strange impression of Paul wanting to keep low key in this project - which he co-organized. My impression is Paul decided to keep himself out of the spotlight, and let it fall on George's later-year closest friends. I can imagine if Paul's being featured in snippets and interviews, the focus would have shifted to him. This time, I guess he wanted the lime light to be on everyone else closest to George.
@NanookHawaii Actually, the concert was organized by Eric Clapton, Olivia Harrison, Ravi Shankar and his wife. Paul was a performer that had little to do with the decision-making, except in the choice of who would sing "Something". Olivia wanted Clapton to do it; McCartney had been doing it in his own shows on the ukelele and wanted to do it the same in the CFG. A compromise was worked where McC and Clapton did it as a duet. Other than that, Paul was there to pay his respects, nothing more.
Of all the Beatles offspring Dahni looks most like his dad. It's really scary actually - I look at him and it's like looking at George from about 1963!
@BeatlesFan6270 Eerily so, isn't it? I can only imagine Paul's feelings watching Dhani grow up from the time he was a child - must be looking like reliving his own childhood, seeing George grow up all over again.
Think of the Anthology project that was started in the early 1990s, at the time when Dhani was about George's age when Paul first met him. I wonder if he ever mentioned that....
@NanookHawaii Paul did make a comment at the concert, saying "seeing George's son up here makes me feel like George stayed young while the rest of us got old". What a nice tribute to both George and his son. And you're so right, Dhani is his dad all over!

Watching this (and part 2) again, I notice that Paul doesn't feature in any rehearsal snippets or interviews.
Is that the case on the DVD, or did you just cut him out?

At 1:54 it's Jim Keltner. He played the drums on the Wilbury's records and a few other times on George's albums.
This is a nice little video. I wish I had the DVD
