You can run a cat delete kit and bypass the cel light. I did and passed the sniffer. Google blox racing. I have a 98 dakota 5.2 no cat and no cel.for 20 or 30 bucks its well worth it.
Deffinatley not the mopar "barrel" intake on that mill. What type of intake are you running and any problems with the computer fouling up with the O2 sensors on diffrent pipes? Got a 360 that I am considering doing a build up on and being an old chevy guy this is my first mopar.
@mancub61081 It's a 2bbl M1 intake (mopar performance), 52mm throttle body. I have long since given up on the O2 sensors. This truck throws several CEL codes that light up the dash quite nicely :)
I got them through KRC Performance. I believe they're the ones originally for a Ram w/ 360ci and are able to fit on dakotas with a spacer between the exhaust ports and header flanges.
Well since the video I have changed the setup slightly. The tips come right off the mufflers now- and it's quite obvious that someone can see them otherwise you wouldn't have asked ;) Either way the setup is temporary right now.
As far as O2 sensors go, I have one sensor on each side. Does that answer the question?
question you did 2 pipes? not a Y.. so what did you do w/ the o2sensor? did your check engine light when on? I havea 5.9L for a grand cherokee.. and I have the O2Sensor in the middle.. What should I do?
It's true duals with an X-Pipe. So yeah, two pipes. The upstream O2 sensors are still there, the one farther back was removed and forgotten about ;-) Check engine light is on, but it's on for so many other reasons too haha.
For your cherokee- there are plenty of aftermarket systems out there for you. You could also consider having a custom one made. The only advice I have is to pick out a muffler that will suit your taste.
Thanks, Well I took the money and put F350 axles hahahaha 60 and 10.50 rear.. and put 37" boggers so will see for next time. Right know I just cut that S.B out hahahaha
I think they're actually "Sportsman Street XL" mufflers, however I purchased them with a kit and I do not recall for sure if those are the ones. They're fairly loud at idle, and cut some of the sound as rpms increase but obviously still get louder than at idle. I'd say it's about 30% sound reduction at idle and maybe 35% reduction at WOT... or at least that's what it sounds like in comparison to open headers.
Thanks. And I do get mixed replies with that fuel door. Some people love it, some think it hurts the apperance. I myself am undecided. I always appreciate feedback either way.
One idea I have is to paint-match the fuel door... I've seen them painted on a few other trucks and it looks pretty good.
yea im just south of the mil. id be concerned about fouling out your 02 sensor and not getting a proper air fuel mixture. how did you tune it? i just got the sct tuner and all i can say is WOW!! worth every penny. this thing can dial in a perfect air/fuel ratio with a big cam. the leaded fuel may also ruin your injectors. oh and i have a big cam too with no check engine lights. if you want i can get you in touch with the guy whos tuning mine. let me know.
i see your from wisconsin, i am too with a 408 ram.what part of wisconsin you from? where do you get unleaded race gas from? i can only find 110 leaded which will toast 02 sensors.also i see you "retro fitted" they same valve covers as mee too.nice sounding exhaust though. im still in the process of tuning mine.
Awesome. What's it run?

Two questions, one why do u have ss tips if no one can see them? two do you actually have two sensors coming off the headers or just one? Not Hating

@bcschanen did it come from the factory with two or did you add a second? Because on my 2002 ram with the 5.9 it only has one.

I'm from south east wisconsin, abuot 1 hour north of milwaukee.
I run 110 LEADED race gas. 02 sensors don't bother me much because my CEL is on anyways due to my camshaft duration (our computers hate big cams).
I didn't really retro fit the valve covers. I'm running LA style heads from edelbrock. The valve covers bolted right up to those hehe :)

Nice truck and I love the idle. What did you do about the fuel?
2gkota59 4 years ago
Fuel system is mostly stock. I upgraded the stock 19lb injectors to 24lb injectors, and I run race gas most of the time. No other changes... yet.
