  • @blinks29 ummm... look in the bible.... dude, come on!

  • @blinks29

It's from the Book of Common Prayer 1662 in the section called the Psalter or Psalms of David. Available via google search.

  • This is magnificent. I am glad I stumbled upon this today. I am not a religious person, but I believe in the power of this music to uplift one's soul.

  • So is mini Ben part of this choir

  • heavenly bliss. God bless

  • 0:30 the guy on the right of the boy in the blue medal is meeeeee

  • @heeraky Happy You !

  • @heeraky hahahahahahahaa the guy to the right of the ginger is meeeee

  • @heeraky Hi, I am impressed by the Anglican chorister tradition, can't be bettered in my opinion. I'm Church of Ireland (Anglican Communion) from Southern Ireland. What does the medal signify; attested choral competence? Or tenure? And have you sung close to any of the royalty? Were you there for Will & Kate's wedding? Take care!

  • @NiallatUTube medals mean youre basically the leader of the choir ive sung to the royalty but left the school 3 years ago, way before the wedding

  • I love this chant very much....though am a Methodist but whenever i listen to this chant i fall in tears. God you are wonderful....can someone send me this scipt....

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is January 25, which is the Festival of the Conversion of St. Paul. This psalm is read or sung on this day.

  • I was there. Sat in those seats! I am very glad.

  • @jezzmn wow.............i like the kids singing

  • Beautiful singing of Anglican chant.

  • Psalm 67 in original hebrew subtitled music written played by Tor Marquis, sung live in holy city of Jerusalem. I need your help to get attention to G-d;s vision of world peace. Please visit.

  • I love Anglican Chant

  • Love the chant! It also works wonderfully on Psalm 51 (it's on the St. Paul's Cathedral box set of all 150 psalms).

  • It also used to sound like this in the Catholic church. Not anymore, but, thankfully, it is coming back. Anglican Chant is absolutely beautiful!

  • In the Scottish Episcopal Church the psalms are still chanted at the Sung Eucharist and said at the weekday Eucharists.

  • Perhaps, in my opinion, the very best of Anglican chants. I am a Tenor, but the Alto part here just moves me to tears every time. I had the choir do it at my wedding. Never heard the Westminster Abbey Choir before, fantastic!

  • @jajabilox

Thank you. I had not deliberately listened to the Alto before. Tears, as you say is are appropriate...- I'll bet the tears come with the the falling line...

  • Get your prayer Book out. "Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen. " is always a proper ending to the Psalms, The magnificat and the Nunc dimintis.

  • @johnbpullin1 If you want to get very proper---it would be "and ever shall be" :)

  • @nickoicool It depends which Rite you are using.

  • @nickoicool: between the "and ever shall be" and the "Amen", one has the clause "world withou end.":

Thus, the complete "Gloria Patri" that ends a psalm or selection thereof is:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

    and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,

    world without end. Amen.

  • This is/was the stuff of REAL Anglican services in the not-so-distant past, but nowadays seems to be used only on special occasions or in cathedrals, as here.

  • There are still a fair few Anglican services where this is part of the normal service, at least in London. Fortunately not everywhere has fallen prey to rock bands, projector screens and the ecstatic waving of arms...

  • @Londonfogey Amen to that!

  • @Londonfogey What you're discribing is something like Roman Catholic Charismatic Renewal, or somewhat Pentecostal Protestant Churches. I'm just a Portuguese Roman Catholic, I don't know too much about Anglicanism, but as I know, hey seem to be less sensitive to those practices, apart, maybe, some perharps conservative Pentecostal Evangelical groups. Surprise for me if it's the broader Church!... Have a good evening!...

  • @Londonfogey ...But Pentecostalism atracts Youths... So...

  • Hey, ds1868....

Get your bible out, there's only 7 verses in this one!!

  • Lovely! I know 5 people in this video, 2 of the treble choristers came from my church choir :D

  • Thanks for this wonderful psalm chant. Kindly upload more chants from various choirs in England if you have them; especially Cambridge Choir. Cheers and God bless you for your contribution to our spiritual upliftment.

  • Just superb. Imho the Westminster Abbry choir is the finest choir in England today. Any chance of the full version of this? And just listen to the strings on the organ at the end!

  • What a fine choir this is!

  • I love their ruff. Magnificent performance! Thank you

  • Anglican chant is beautiful. But I agree, the ruffs are the best part. :-)
