Instead of negative thinking or positive thinking, why can't we as individuals trust our feelings and thoughts as an important part of the dialogue between us and our social, poitical, and ecological realities. A negative feeling may be a real intuitive hint that you are being exploited. To squelch that feeling and replace it with a manufactured positive thought process would be to allow exploitation. Of course, negative thoughts can also be manufactured. What about Authentic Thinking!!!

This insistance that if you think positive then good things will happen is a propaganda tool of people who want to screw others over and escape any responsibility for screwing them. I realize that we are a society of compassion. We are always trying to find happiness in our society. Social control has been difficult in many areas in sports and selecting those who are pretty over those qualified. I say we need to look at society based on all inclusion of people. Any system based on property, money and competition REQUIRES FORCE AT ALL LEVELS.

Any system that creates sustainable ABUNDANCE of all of the consumables (like food, water, energy, etc.) and universal ACCESS to everything else (like transportation, information, etc.) ELIMINATES ALL FORCE.

I've come full circle w/the reality of sexism&classism, I realize I have no future in the corporate world--as far as traditional means of working hard, being good @what I do, etc.This "negative" realization enables me 2look 4 alternative ways of making money, i.e., starting my own business &going the road less traveled. If I continue 2 lie to myself, as the "career" counselors suggest, I cd spend the rest of my life trying to find a "job." Now I'm trying 2create my own job &business--empowering!

Went thru a similar experience: having trouble finding work, I've sought out career counselors, networking groups, etc., only to find--much to my dismay--that rather than give me any practical advice or help in finding a job that pays a decent living wage and corresponds w/my skills & talents, I was simply bombarded w/platitudes, told I was being negative & shouldn't think about certain realities.
