  • i think she will sell more records when her sound is not to hear! what a greedy bitch! she can suck my dick for 5€!

  • HEY MY NAME IS DIONNE ISNT THAT COOL

  • slick rick sampled this

  • Cuz it's all about the dam money. That's okay, look where capitalism has gotten us anyway-screw them!

  • This is SO stupid. Those people are idiots, and bastards for doing this. Why are they atually trying to push people away from music, when they should draw them in. Greedy bastards, and after so long.

  • go hell copyright you just stole the music cos the music is of the ppl than sing and play and you? just cos you give money to make the song this not mean than is your song

  • say it aint so

  • nothing but greed...stick the video up your ass coyrightists

  • I pray I'm not performing any illegal actions by surfing YouTube and accessing the videos and songs already in place absent of any copying, transisitioning, or replicating anyone else's work.

  • i am about to share this video with some friends who haven't heard the original version ... and now, it's gone!!

  • "The Big Greedy Record Companies and their Corporate Lawyers want GOOGLE to Pay them money for the right to play certain Artists videos on YouTube which Google owns! The ones who really miss out are the millions of music

seekers and music lovers who search out YouTube for good music. The Greedy Record Labels are having bad times cos' cd sales are down and so they're poking their greedy pigs snouts into the YouTube trough looking for some Revenue! Typical greedy corporate Pigs!"

  • As it seems as if all Dionne Warwick stuff has been taken down except the live performances. What is the explanation for this? This is unfortunate. You Tube is a great way for us younger folks to learn about these older artists. Without their material on You Tube I'm afraid many will remain ignorant.

  • whack

  • lol, another wasted opportunity for the music business. there was a time, where they sent a lot of money, trying to make the audience listen to their crap.

    seems they are outdated now.

  • Rats...it was not in this state three weeks ago. I listened to it then. What has changed? You greedy SOB's the reality is that this beautiful voice is love and you cannot control love for your own capitalistic aims. Shame on you

  • can we have some one do sign for this please? That isn't covered by copyright.

  • How utterly RUDE of someone! I wonder if Ms Warwick approves of this?

  • what a shame we can't hear this wonderfull singer. The music industry needs to move into the 21st century.

  • waste of time

  • I bet them copyright holders aint paying Ms Warwick a damn cent either. fuckers

  • shame on the greedy copyright holder than wont let me hear this beautiful music.

  • how can u not like this classic song!

"make belive u don't see these tears"

  • Check out Obama "Today is my day" feat.Coloria

  • You can see in her face is knew she was at the rise of STARDOM>

  • Saw her in Vegas in 1970 great show she was at the top of her game then

  • claaaaaaasssssiiiccccc! LOVE IT!

  • Good job I've got it on tape. Cos i'm getting Naff all from this.

  • Naff all?

    Nobody says Naff All

    You mean Fuck all

  • Check out Dionne's River North Records release (1998) called "Dionne Sings Dionne" and listen to her revised version of Walk on By on this album. UNREAL.

  • Twirling the chair during the bridge @ 1:52 was a great visual accent.

  • Check how the guitarist is "striking" the guitar strokes; Chac! Chac! Chac-Chac!... Chac! Chac! Chac-Chac! It's nearly reggae-like. The strings: Dramatic, mon, DRAMATIC! Dionne, how she sings right at the very TOP of her vocal register (most singers would go hoarse after only a MINUTE of that). It's like Cabaret, Broadway and everything else, all happening at once - on a GRAND scale, mon!

  • A great classic song. Obviously filmed on a variety show. Look how imaginative they were then. They made a simple set out of chairs. What a cool video.

  • Wow! She had a sound that no one could match!

    I love her songs!

  • this is carol's mom's song i hope she will quit crying

  • This was when Dionne Warwick could still sing.

  • Agreed. Then, it was such a lovely voice...

  • Kudos to a lady whose music meant more to some of us than 'others' (what a shame, talking about people's features, who might not have had the money to do anything about it, when their careers first got started.) will ever realize.

  • Idk how to explain how amazing this song is. No comment.

AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE A MUSTACHE! SHES BEAUTIFUL!

  • Classic

  • This is a brill song!

  • this is a great song

  • This isn't enough words to describe Dionne Warwick, because mere words couldn't possibly describe one of this country's truly greatest singers and one of God's truly greatest creations.

  • Totally agree all I would add she is the world's gift not just this country. I must add it's amazing that people lack the understanding that even today the way people or color are filmed ( the lighting) can create shadows on darker skin...thus the comments regarding her having a mustache which is totally silly!!

  • i love her song. i love the way she looks! true legend!

  • This song by the great Dionne Warwick is one of the greatest recordings of all time. She had a fantastic arranger/composer duo who she collaborated with(her voice teamed with their crafted music)-Burt Bachrach & Hal David. The outcome: history-making ultra fabulous songs. In response to rascal211: that's also what's sorely MISSING in recent times-there aren't any younger MUSICIANS(who actually really PLAY instruments)nor composer/arrangers; a long, sad situation that's persisted since 1980's.

  • So very true. It's scary to anticipate what future billboard music might likely become. Something between synthesized bleeps & tones along with robotic utterances.

  • pheobedog, sorry you feel that way (Dionne looking like 'shaun of the dead', your comment, and asking why she's walking so awkward.) about a woman who sung her heart out for songs that went on to be 'classics', and who the Europeans showed more appreciation for in the beginning of her career than her own country. If her 'tears and sadness' cheezy gestures get to you, perhaps it's because she was just starting out, and who wouldn't be nervous singing with millions of people watching you?

  • Fabulous and unmatched! Great Post thanks 5*

  • Why can't anyone make this type of music anymore? Its like all the great songs have already been created and there is nothing left.

  • rascal211:It CAN happen again - there just aren't very many artists who are really SINGING (using the voice as a medium for artistic expression) recently and right now. Sade and Swing Out Sister are a couple of vocalists currently still doing it, but it is rather uncommon in the music scene (as you already know too well). Everything has been, for about the last 20 years, "manufactured" in the studio; artists just don't SING anymore.

  • i love her heart shaped hairdo!

  • To the wise, she's got beauty too.

  • An American legend!

  • good old song are always too short

  • The ridiculously apt irony is, in today's world of beauty over talent, Dionne Warwick would have ended up in a church choir and we would have lost out on this gifted musician. Don't believe me; sort youtube videos by most favorite of most view of all time.

  • so very true.

  • Classic! I just bought a collection CD for my Aunt. Early Dionne = masterpiece.

  • SWEET Voice...SOUR face

  • WOW she looks like Chris Rock!

  • i like the song and the stache

  • I thought it was a drag queen.

  • Is that a...mustache?

  • Voice of an angel

  • a lot of this is camera angles and lighting it's black and white they did not film this to her best interest it's poor filming

  • Dionne and Whitney are cousins. Cissy (Whitney's mother) is Dionne's aunt.

  • La piu' grande voce di Burt...LEI

  • she ain't pretty, but boy can she sing!

  • Ain't pretty?? Man, you gotta be kidding...then again, you did choose to name yourself fatbob666, so it's clear where you're coming from, dolt!

  • seriously, she aint pretty..

  • yea, she wasn't too cute in this vid...I don't know if it was the camera angles or what! lol

  • and you're FAT.....lol

  • Elsker deg..

  • einfach wunderbar. dankeschön dionne und DKenUkla :-)

  • enshnar darsk ork, unkul vierla mo darsker iel?

  • Stage presence or not pure class songs like these simley dont exist any more.X

  • You don't have to work as hard when you have genuine talent. To paraphrase disco diva Sylvester "She don't need these dresses, she don't need these jewelries, this girl can sang!"

  • That's funny...Dionne no stage presence...what are you on? At some point during her career Dionne had the highest Q rating of any her contempories including Diana. Only Lucille Ball numbers were better in America.

  • this is my favorite song by dionne.

  • Fantastic! 5 Stars ;)

  • I also like her verison of anyone who had a heart i like luther verison better but she did a very good job on her well it's her song any way dionne has a very beautiful voice

  • Dionne is a legend, so gifted, so classy and so sexy, without taking her clothes off...the younger women in today's game should watch her for tips on what real class is...

  • Blah, blah, blah. Thanks Gramps.

  • that's funny...

  • WoW I always hear my mom sing this song,I luv it!!

  • She had such a beautiful tone to her voice. Sounds like Whitney, or should I say, Whitney sounds like her.

  • Song and voice is classic and so are the pumps

  • Linda demais que saudades!!!

  • Listen to the Stranglers version of this song for one of the best covers ever. Really. Absolutely nothing like the original, which in my opinion is why artists should cover a song. Who wants to hear a cover that is just like the original?

  • At her glorious peak Dionne could have read the news and made them sound wonderful. 'Walk on By" is a sublime song. I love it.

  • niech żyje klasyka ! :)

  • Cool! No other word'll do for this gem. She could sing; went a bit rubbish later, but she still has a marvellous voice!

  • I sang this in a high school talent contest. Dionne was a super star! She still is

  • love sooooong

    :(

  • absolutne super...milujem tento song...

  • NOBODY DOES IT BETTER THAN DIONNE

  • Perfecto mondo.

  • Brilliant.

  • Great era, great singer,great musicians ...

    Just bring it all back!!

  • I first heard this record on my new transistor radio in 1964, when I was ten years old. It still makes me want to cry. Is this the most beautiful and poignant recording of all time? I think it might be...

  • she's busy touring Britain & Europe for the next year.Fantastic concert she gave in Norwich.

  • And in Stockholm in December 13 last year, it was magic.

  • dionne warwick has exellent voice, and nice to listenning her.

  • an amazing singer..true diva x

  • "wokOnbi"

  • i like the seal version

  • It seems the sounds lags the video by a half second and I didn't care for the bottom scroll. It's like putting grafitti on a masterpiece.... it just shows bad judgment by the director.

    She has a great voice.

  • i luv isaace hayes version betta but she got hella of a good voice

  • old skul classics that still say exactly wots on my heart x

  • Brilliant.

  • I came across this song 21 years ago, simply one of the best ever written songs ever

  • The epitome of style and grace. She has no equal in the world.

  • i love dis song

  • dont live in south orange wherever that is past apple corner i presume. great music from a great artist from a great admirer. had her music forced on me as a toddler. sometimes parents do the right things!GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

  • i live in south orange, nj and ive never met her

  • I met her one day in South Orange , NJ. I held the door open for her,as I was leaving a store. She has a great voice!

  • her voice is so soft and angelic and fragile.. u dont get beautiful, graceful and talented voices like this nowadays

  • fabulous.

  • You go, girl, Nancy. You da best! lol

  • there was hardcore bass version in 80's can anyone help ?

  • It might be the Stranglers version which I'm pretty sure is on youtube.

  • There are two other version besides the one by Dionne and Stranglers. One by Sybil and another one by Gabrielle. I like Dionne's the best, but the other versions work as well...

  • It just doesn't get any better than Warwick,Bacharach.and David!!! To all you music lovers, All the love and blessings...

  • David Who?....the one who slew the giant

  • Dal David, the lyricist.

  • I like her haircut !

    Looks like mickey mouse :-)

  • lmao

why have people rated this comment bad? its not offensive :P

    i love her voice ^-^

  • Her voice was very pleasing to your ear...it relaxes me...when i am in the bath tub i like to play her. It never fails to relax me no matter how stressed out i am. I love the sound of her voice,Nancy Wilson and Roberta Flack. These sisters take you back to a time of peace in your life, at least they do that for me.

  • this is one of her best.

  • This song is hot. Both her and Florence had their own different versions of this song. I love them both. great song:)

  • She continues to be gorgeous. I wish she would sing for us more.

  • she can't she smoked away her voice like a fool.

  • that choppy guitar sound is clever

  • Lovely Song. Piano in the chorus is the key

  • this song is amazing..she sings it with passion, u can hear it in her voice

  • very beautiful song!

  • She has paved the way to! I looking for a book Dionne! You have been blessed to accomplish so much in this world.

  • beautiful

  • amo questa canzone

  • I believe Dionne Warwick is an icon and today's singers will never match her voice and talent.

  • It's amazing that her first hit was back in 1962. And almost every year after that had a hit. I just do not understand why this great songstress is not given her due. I know that Hal David and Burt Bacharach felt as I do. This lady had one heck of a voice and can definitely carry a tune. She is just great!.

  • 美しい。

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • there aint no way would i ever walk on by Dionne Warwick,..shes fantastic i want to walk and sing with her lol,ah no but seriously Dionne is the bizz...I love her to bits.

  • LOL

  • Love this song and didn't know about it until i heard it sampled on the Slick Rick song!! My new fave!!

  • great song but she looks like a bloke with a moustache!

  • I like it;]

  • The theme(s) of loneliness, isolation, and "walking-by" in this song were effectively demonstrated with use of empty chairs. A good lesson learned about inexpensive stagecraft.

  • Dbkit - there is nothing new under the sun, it has all been done before, often better.

In the 1960's America was stuck with a foreign war it couldn't win, dragging in allies to Vietnam. Yet then, from 60's through to recently Irish-Americans funded Irish Terrorism - youtube "corporals killings ira" odd the war on terror now then?

  • wonderful song

  • Everybody loves my last comment lol

  • i think* shes a legend this is real music

  • She's beutiful nothing ugly. She can sing. If you don't think she can sing, you don't know what music is! And if you think she's ugly, you're the ugly one not her! (You're jealous!) This girl can sing!

  • true story some people just haters i they need to check them self before they start calling other people ugly gwan dionne warwick

  • Dadsgirl240 - right on.

I was 5 when this came out, little white English boy, at risk of inheriting all my parent's (unfounded but real) prejudices. I didn't.

Dionne Warwick is beautiful with hypnotic looks, fine figure and the voice of an angel.

I'm 49 now, the song still gets me and she's still gorgeous.

  • I love the song. I like the arrangement and her voice The mid sixties, man you dug a diamond with this one. Thank you very very much

  • I love soul music

  • haha its like a little caterpillar sittin off on her lip!

  • who the hell is chris tukker? ROFL leave dionne and her nose alone she can sing her ass off lmao even though she smokes blunts hahaha let me stop.....this song is classic

  • shut up TlukeT1993. go stick a hot pipe up ur arse

  • Superb song, incredibly composed. Superb voice, well delivered. Puts the "modern day" "artists" to shame.

  • what a voice, what a song...classic

  • jammin...

  • I love her and this song, but this is one of the worst videos I've seen on youtube. There's absolutely no synchronization.
