As far as I'm concerned, ability to manipulate the natural world (be it botany or music or whatever) is talent, understanding of HOW math problems are what they are is intelligence, Knowing when to talk to someone so as to perhaps not hurt their feelings while still getting what you want is wisdom, but limiting yourself, telling yourself that the so-called obvious facts of the world are deceptions by a great evil? I've been to England a number of times....even spent an entire summer there once. I love some of the architecture of some of those old churches. I've been in some, however, where the heads were missing from the saints. What's that all about? It was clearly intentional. Could it have been the protestants? The "roundheads?" Just generally interested.
I watched a documentary while in the U.K. I only saw part of it, but it was saying that for a time the round heads would vandalise churches that looked too "Catholic." Anyway, I'm fascinated by British history as my family comes from there on both sides, both England and Scotland.

I think you would have come to this conclusion much sooner if you were living in the US. we cant prove or disprove a god in general terms. a deistic one, just created the universe, but doesnt interact anymore and has no specifics. as soon as a god gets qualities we can tackle them and its often rather easier to debunk the concepts. not that that would influence most of the theistic minded. but some might start to think ...
