  • Who else is waiting for Tommy Davis to leave and start speaking out? Can you imagine the stories he's gonna have? It's only a matter of time.

  • I think rather than focusing on David miscavige's behaviour, we should be talking more about how it is a rediculously INSANE CULT created by an INSANE SCIENCE FICTION author in order to TAKE PEOPLES MONEY FROM THEM AND UTILIZE TAX EXEMPT STATUS.

  • @Gregman420 All religions are insane! Jesus died on a cross so your sins are ok? Crazy! Jews cut the end of their dicks off? Crazy! Buddhists sit and chant for hours on end? Crazy! Muslims always want to jihad everybody? Crazy! No, what needs to be addressed is the abuses that take place. Let any man believe whatever he wishes. Let them congregate and call themselves a church. But NOBODY has the right to abuse their fellow man.

  • @THX11386079SmithW The religions you speak of are thousands of years old and are completely FREE. That alone puts them in a completely different column as the joke they call $cientology...

  • @Gregman420 I'm not disagreeing with you. Part of the problem with scientology is their aggressive "hard sell" attitude and their preoccupation with the acquisition of peoples money. However, my point is this: Is it worse to lose some money or to lose your family and friends? You can make more money but once your family and friends decide, based on insane religious doctrine, to disconnect from you how can you get them back? The abuse some scientologists are doling out needs to be checked.

  • Wake up Americans! The sooner you get rid of this sick, twisted and evil organization the better.

It should be closed down right now, and it's assets seized. Then give Tom Cruise the world's greatest Douche award.

  • @minnescanada haaaaaa xD yes big douche award

  • Thank you for posting this excellent documentary - here, in England, we miss out on things like these Nightline reports (although we DO have the BBC's Panorama... hehehe). I respect all beliefs generally - but abuse, lies and violence are inexcusable.

  • You know your religion is bullshit when it has an award ceremony.

  • So, wait. They stand and salute L. Ron Hubbard's likeness?!?!?!?! Seriously? Wow.

  • @alias4rlw

Not in general. Tom Cruise did but most scientologists and even Sea Org don't. Instead they give standing ovations to his picture over and over and OVER. You get more exercise at an event... You get sick of hearing "To LRH!" Any scientologist knows what I mean. LOL

  • I think $cientologists wish that Hubbard came up with a better reason for the origin of thetans rather than the Xenu story, they are so embarrassed now. If I was to start a religion I can come up with a better bullshit story. Actually Mickey Mouse lives on the darkside of the moon, and that is where we all come from, its a fact. hehehe

  • I, Tory (Bezazian) Christman, used to work with C of $s "Office of Special Affairs" as a volunteer. I was the Executive Director of The Scientology Parishioner's League, working under the VP of Scientology. Our "job" (as public/Volunteers) was the "handle" (Get rid of) any and ALL bad writings or postings about Hubbard or Scientology. I used to call/write/contact people to make sure they understood, just as these have, that the facts are "Wrong". Are they? I say 100%:NO. Happy Holidays! TLC

  • Scientology IS a mind control CULT. An easy way to decide is this: Myself, and anyone "out" agree: Look at both sides~ Read, look, listen, make up your own minds. C of $ can

NEVER say look at both sides? Why? IF people knew the facts, they would walk out, TODAY. Their "Plexiglas" (to stop hearing Facts) is built in from day one.

To those lurking: The way OUT is the Nearest DOOR! My best,

    Tory/Magoo

  • Thinking even further on this. Its just a huge scam. These guys have built a religion to get RICH. I cant see any other way around it. The secrecy, the celebs, the amounts of real estate they own world wide, etc...its all about MONEY. Has to be.

These guys are CREEPY. Mormons creep me out, these guys REALLY creep me out. So much dark, secret shit going on here.

  • If THEY believe in aliens and inter-galactic rulers and thetans...and call that a church, and are exempted from paying taxes - Im going to create a shrine and start a church around Mel, the cook from the TV show "Alice". That will be MY religion and I dont want to pay taxes. Im going to slap around my followers and make them salute my goldfish..named "Mel" of course.

These guys are MONEY CRAZY and all this dark shit is to protect their MONEY.

  • Is Scientology a RELIGION? I dont know. I simply dont care. I dont care that they DO believe in Xenu and Thetens and such. We have that freedom as Americans. BUT...the whole thing seems very weird and strange. From Tom Cruise and the Celebrity Center, to the International Headquarters out in Riverside County. The amounts of money running through this thing - HECK YES...REVOKE the tax exemption. For these guys and ALL churches.

  • bump

  • What he should of asked when the "church" said that one guy was abusive was what was their reaction to it?

He didnt get kicked out, he left.

  • I think people in general feel less threatened by $cientology's litigous behaviour.

  • Hail Xenu

    !

  • Another blow to $cientology !

  • great series! thanks for posting!

I don't think that the US will ever revoke "religion" status, but it would be funny if they did.

  • Good piece imo.

Enjoyed hearing the point of view of former scilons. Puts the whole thing into perspective.

Especially considering all four of these individuals were former champions of the Scilon cause.

  • Great reporting!

However, before asking people's opinion about whether or not Scientology should continue have to tax free status, they really should have talked about the business end of the religion. Like how the church charges tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of dollars for courses and other services.

  • Absolutely, that's the biggest problem with the religion. They convince lonely people to incur massive debt to move up their dumb level system.

You can easily find stories of people convinced to mortgage their homes or turn the deeds over the church in order to buy the correct program.

The special was alright, but it avoided all of that completely.

As well as the people who have died because the church told them to stop taking anti-psychotic medication...

  • Wait, what was Jimmy Kimmel's take?!

  • no religion should have tax exempt status.

  • @vanitykitty7 I think that's a little far as most religions are not dependent on extracting money from its parishioners. However, this does not include Scientology as it expects its followers to make daily payments and therefore should not be recognised as a religion thus should not be tax exempt.

  • $cientology got pwned in part 5, but over all, it's an EPIC WIN.

  • bravo! excellent reporting, and very fair. scientology is simply foolish and ineffective. but wait - there was that Berlin Wall thing.....lol
