What I like about JJ live is the way he performs with a number of other musicians, and the way he lets them have centre stage sometimes. There are too many solo artists who get egos once they find fame. I'd take him for a beer or two any day.

yeh yall are both right. that is what jack is about. that i why i respect him so much i think this song is definately about slowing down but i also believe that this song and he as a person is about not worrying so much. we all worry about the dumbest things and this song just shows us to stop worrying and to appreciate life. all of his songs help me do that

I think this along with a lot of his songs, to me, talks about how fast the world and everyone around is moving, it's too fast, too fast to appreciate anything that really matters. I think when he refers to the train breaking down it could be asking everyone to stop, slow down and try to see what really matters now, in this life. Most people have no idea...

To be honest, last Jack Johnsons' concert I saw, I really liked Zach Gill, besides being an amazing musician, he interacts more with the public than JJ... At least with the people right in front of him ;)

And I trully dont think he's a bad singer.

Zach's voice simply doesn't harmonize well with Jack's and he often sings over him rather than with him. ALO puts on a pretty good show, however Gill and Jack are not on the same level, and it shows live. Jack recently did a cover of "I shall be released" by the Band with ALO, which other than "Girl I want to lay you down," is the only combo of the two artists that really seem to click. Collaborations with Ben Harper, Eddie Vedder, G Love, and Donovan Frankenreiter are so much more satisfying.

This song is a great song to listen to when you just want to take a step back and relax. To me the song is a metaphor for life and how you feel like you never have time for anything and sometimes you wish it would just "breakdown" and you could enjoy it. But that's just me...anyway great song
