The International Military tribunal estimated 200, 000 murdered and over 20, 000 woman raped. Reverend James McAllum spoke of treating 1000 rapes a night at the hospital.

@charly345mstl You insufferable cunt. Finding evidence for Nanking and Unit 731 is as easy as a google search. The UN has already done an investigation and found ample evidence. Keep living in a vacuum bitch
Very true, never ever lose repect of your enemy. The victors of past have won because they learned and repected their enemies. Arrogance is for the losers.
The Japanese soldier was not better in training than the American. The motivation behind their fanaticism drove them on to fight to the death. Their emperor was worshiped as a god. To die for him was an honor. Also, their whole social system was based on not losing face, or losing honor. They would also die for that, called hara-kiri, suicide.
@mvies77 Imperial Japan had been at war with its neighbors in the pacific long before it attacked the U.S. "Not better in training?" Maybe. But more battle-hardened & experienced? Definitely.
@TxGearhead Starting to split hairs is fruitless. We can discuss the Japanese soldier fighting in China for a year through streets, villages and large cities compared to the Japanese soldiers invading jungle covered islands. The point I was making was that the Japanese soldier was not better, only trained differently and with a different motivation. The American soldier quickly became just as experienced when faced with the same circumstances. Enough said by me on this point. Later. . .
@mvies77 No splitting of hairs...but assuming that the Japanese fit into the actionmovie/anime "kill myself/hara-kiri" is ignoring A LOT. There's much more to history that what you've read on Wikipedia. You can't make the subjective point that either soldier was "better" unless we were there. We weren't, we can only armchair quarterback based on historians. Read about the Japanese motivations (books, not Google search), and you'll find it was much deeper than action movie caricatures.
@TxGearhead You don't know me and you certainly do not know what I read. I do not watch anime or take my info from Wikipedia. You go on in your condescending manner as if your opinion will change anything. I believe what I indicated and that is it. I have nothing more to say and nothing you can say will make any difference.
@mvies77 I don't know you...but judging by you hitting most of stereotypical Japanese talking points & your reaction to someone attempting to refute this argument, I'd say you are likely young & subsequently got most of your info from the internet. Prior to WW2, Japan had experience against nations other than China... Acknowledging this means that you can't automatically & subjectively say the U.S. was "better." In the end, they became better. But that's not what you originally said...
@mvies77 What you said could be true. If your talking about a Vetern Japanese soldier. Most of them died very soon due to their fanaticism. What i mean is its hard to train the next guys when all your vets die. This was their downfall. All they have learned was wasted. Semper Fidelis ! Marines live forever.
@TrenchGunTommy Yes, once they woke America up from its' isolation mind set, it was inevitable that we would win. We came very close to losing due to that policy. Once we did overcome the initial losses, sheer numbers and industrial might overcame the Japanese military and their thousands of years of warrior mindset and Emperor worship.
Its hard to go to war wit the japanese because how can u kill someone that's willing to die and not afraid of anything sure we beat the japs but in all honesty they were the better soldiers because they were warriors lik basilone sed they been doin da shit since they were in fucking diapers
Fuck showing the Japanese Soldier respect! They were brainwashed, greedy, heartless, psychopaths that would cut off the heads of POWs for fun and rape Filipino and Chinese children. Sure war is terrible, but the Japanese introduced a new level of cruelty to it. If you don't believe me look up:

@CaptainAmerica322 Look, there is a difference between respecting capability and knowing the capability of your enemy. @Bustagroov What the fuck are you talking about? I had to look through my old comments, I suppose you're refering to the Rape of Nanking. You may want to actually look up what The Rape of Nanking was before you start making ignorant comments about it.
@qu7aker oh yeah. Pacific is just as good and at times better than band of brothers. plenty of great acting scenes and action scenes. only thing is to remember is try not to compare it to band of brothers as both series are different in terms of how they tell the story and how they focus on the characters and such.
@knight6 Oh totally, i wasnt trying to compare it like some people here but i do see some similarities. Well either way im def goin watch this. ty! :)
1:23 I wonder if Al Qaeda almost resembles or is equal to that kind of fanaticism and yea some of their guys fought the Soviets in Afghanistan in 80's where we are now. Hearing this is very frightening if any combat vet from afghan tells you this short of thing
@Nickbol09 You sir, are an idiot. Why don't you slap yourself until your brain is straight. You need to go back to school, learn how to spell, and have your parents teach you some respect, manners and, some common sense. "EVEN ENEMIES CAN SHOW RESPECT"
That speech right there is the difference between a poser and someone who has been there-remember John Basilone was Army before he was a Marine -served in the Phillippines-he most likely heard about what the Japanese soldiers were capable of even before the war began.
This scene takes place in either late 1944 or early 1945 before the Battle of Iwo Jima. It was fairly late in the war. Basilone knew what the Japanese were like because he had previously fought against them as a Marine during the Battle of Guadalcanal, where he earned the Medal of Honor.
Americas modern soldier has no pride. I can't blame him. America is no longer worth fighting for when "our" people are people that hate the white man. America is a country of niggers, illegals, Muslims, Jews, and other assorted mixed mutt mud people. America cannot any longer show pride as it once had. With no pride there is no unity. With no unity, the country fails. America will fall on it's knees because of this. MULTICULTURALISM IS THE GREATEST LIE EVER TOLD.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 for one second i said "wtf is this ass sayin". then realized its just the ramblings of a crazy racist. and no one listens to you people. you have no idea whats your saying.
@busterdog321 Quite the contrary. Millions are finally starting to open our eyes to this mess. I knew it wouldn't be long. Especially the black plague. People will only take so much of the whining of American niggers and all their entitlements. You must be a black pest yourself.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 actually im a Marine, the pinical of multiculturalism. White Black Red Yellow Brown dont mean shit to me, because its a brotherhood of one people, just like the country we fight for. and its been like that for some time, welcome to reality.
@busterdog321 Well said soldier! I'm not a soldier myself but the brotherhood you men have in the Marine Corps is something ignorant racist people do not understand so well. I have several friends in the Corps and they say the brotherhood keeps them from being blinded and swayed by the differences among individual soldiers. I envy you, that you have such a brotherhood bond as you do in the Corps, must be a hell of a bond. Godbless you and your comrades!
@BellumSacrumBellum28 No...millions of people, only a generation ago, realized that segregation violates the American creed and way of life. A lot of people, non-ignorant people, now realize that there will no longer be a majority race in our country. If that's a problem with you then you can leave. If you truly do believe that black people are a plague then I suggest you read about the 54th Massachusetts, Tuskegee Airmen, and many other brave men who gave more to America than you ever could.
@busterdog321 Actually, the world is waking up to you sell-outs. We are sick of the lies that say everyone is equal. Blacks are better off separate from us. What's wrong with that? They hate us anyway. Let them live separate from us and see how they do. No help from us, no help from them. Isn't that EQUAL? It will transpire. You can only play race cards for so long until others get wind of it.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 Dude, you gotta get out more you fucking redneck. For example, persia was one of the most powerful empires of the world, whose empire spread across fucking asia/middle east. Their empire consists of many middleeastern people and other asians such as indians. They raped. They were multicultural. So stfu. Unity is not based on race, religion, etc.
@AlphaStrikeSquadron Their empire spread across Asia and the Middle East sure, until they themselves were utterly raped by the superior Macedonian/Greek armies of the west.
@McGruff5150 At the time of ruling, the persian king was a tremendous tyrant. Many say, the persian people themselves told many military plans and secret passages to the greeks so that alexander could destroy persepolis.
@BellumSacrumBellum28 wow you are deluded!! theres probably thousands of ethnic races that have served and done more to get your country where it is today than you ever will, your the person who will sit there moan about the world but when someone squares upto you, you pussy out cos thats wat you are a coward!! im british before you even start to question loyalty and pride that you are simply lacking....along with humanity now do the world a favour..and..fuck off
@BellumSacrumBellum28 dude dont hate on blacks, we're Americans just like white people. Hate the damn border jumping illegal mexicans and the middle eastern that terrorizes americans. Blacks are not the threat to the country.
I totally agree with Sgt. Basilone (an American Hero). And unlike most people, I feel the same way about our enemy today: Islamic Extremist Terrorist.
I totally agree with Sgt. Basilone (an American Hero). And unlike most people, I feel the same way about our enemy today: Islamic Extremist Terrorist.
@TheBeccable it wasnt there fault they were young early 20s they felt invincible and those propaganda that portrayed the Japanese made u think like that thats all they grew up with
@TheBeccable True, but the marines had been bombarded with propaganda depicting the Japanese military as sub-human caricatures. That didn't tend to instill respect, and Basilone sought to correct that.
@Agomongo1235 That's unrelated. I'm aware that the Japanese and other people did horrible things, en are not men in a war. But their actions are unrelated in this situation. Basilone's men weren't respecting an enemy, and if you don't respect something, you look down on it. There were American propaganda posters depicting the Japanese as blind, buck-toothed buffoons, eliciting the underestimation of American troops and causing these men to lose their lives as a result of their lack of respect.
@Agomongo1235 As an after thought, why assume i'm ignorant of the things the Japanese did to the Koreans? Haven't you ever heard that to assume you make an ass out of u and me?
@TheBeccable Did I ever say you were ignorant? I guess you didn't know that they did human expirements on Koreans BEFORE the war after they conquered them. Just because Sgt. Basilone says that it's wrong you start caring. Bet you didn't care before you watched this scene.
@Agomongo1235 I don't think you're understanding that that is irrelevant. As horrible as it is. If men don't respect an enemy, they let their guards down and this, as a direct result it gets them killed. And what Basilone is saying here isn't necessarily relevant to the subject you are so insistent makes it okay to underestimate people that can and will kill you if you aren't careful. Thats all he's saying here, that they can and will kill you so don't look down on them as a military power.
@IIproductionsII The US Government's arrogance during the early stages of the Pacific War cost 20,000 American and Filipino lives and the staging area the original US War Plan hinged.

@Nickbol09 You sir, are an idiot. Why don't you slap yourself until your brain is straight. You need to go back to school, learn how to spell, and have your parents teach you some respect, manners and, some common sense. "EVEN ENEMIES CAN SHOW RESPECT"

That speech right there is the difference between a poser and someone who has been there-remember John Basilone was Army before he was a Marine -served in the Phillippines-he most likely heard about what the Japanese soldiers were capable of even before the war began.
alamokid40 8 months ago
@alamokid40

BellumSacrumBellum28 1 year ago
@BellumSacrumBellum28 for one second i said "wtf is this ass sayin". then realized its just the ramblings of a crazy racist. and no one listens to you people. you have no idea whats your saying.
busterdog321 11 months ago
@busterdog321 Quite the contrary. Millions are finally starting to open our eyes to this mess. I knew it wouldn't be long. Especially the black plague. People will only take so much of the whining of American niggers and all their entitlements. You must be a black pest yourself.
BellumSacrumBellum28 11 months ago
@BellumSacrumBellum28 actually im a Marine, the pinical of multiculturalism. White Black Red Yellow Brown dont mean shit to me, because its a brotherhood of one people, just like the country we fight for. and its been like that for some time, welcome to reality.
busterdog321 11 months ago 4
@busterdog321 Well said soldier! I'm not a soldier myself but the brotherhood you men have in the Marine Corps is something ignorant racist people do not understand so well. I have several friends in the Corps and they say the brotherhood keeps them from being blinded and swayed by the differences among individual soldiers. I envy you, that you have such a brotherhood bond as you do in the Corps, must be a hell of a bond. Godbless you and your comrades!
rockndude87 11 months ago
@rockndude87 rah to that. however *pssst* come here, little secret. dont call Marines soliders. thats army junk.
busterdog321 9 months ago
@BellumSacrumBellum28 No...millions of people, only a generation ago, realized that segregation violates the American creed and way of life. A lot of people, non-ignorant people, now realize that there will no longer be a majority race in our country. If that's a problem with you then you can leave. If you truly do believe that black people are a plague then I suggest you read about the 54th Massachusetts, Tuskegee Airmen, and many other brave men who gave more to America than you ever could.
rockndude87 11 months ago

AlphaStrikeSquadron 11 months ago
@AlphaStrikeSquadron Their empire spread across Asia and the Middle East sure, until they themselves were utterly raped by the superior Macedonian/Greek armies of the west.
McGruff5150 10 months ago
@McGruff5150 At the time of ruling, the persian king was a tremendous tyrant. Many say, the persian people themselves told many military plans and secret passages to the greeks so that alexander could destroy persepolis.

I'm with Gunnery Sgt. Basilone. It's kinda depressing when Marines don't even respect their enemy.
TheBeccable 1 year ago 87
@TheBeccable it wasnt there fault they were young early 20s they felt invincible and those propaganda that portrayed the Japanese made u think like that thats all they grew up with
MrLila36 1 year ago
@TheBeccable I agree. Always show respect to your enemy.
Besides being the right thing to do, you never know when it's YOU relying on THEIR respect....
Englander30 9 months ago
@TheBeccable True, but the marines had been bombarded with propaganda depicting the Japanese military as sub-human caricatures. That didn't tend to instill respect, and Basilone sought to correct that.
Elidoransgar 9 months ago
@TheBeccable u shouldnt be talking u dnt kno the horrible shit that the japs did to koreans
Agomongo1235 6 months ago
@Agomongo1235 That's unrelated. I'm aware that the Japanese and other people did horrible things, en are not men in a war. But their actions are unrelated in this situation. Basilone's men weren't respecting an enemy, and if you don't respect something, you look down on it. There were American propaganda posters depicting the Japanese as blind, buck-toothed buffoons, eliciting the underestimation of American troops and causing these men to lose their lives as a result of their lack of respect.
TheBeccable 6 months ago
@Agomongo1235 As an after thought, why assume i'm ignorant of the things the Japanese did to the Koreans? Haven't you ever heard that to assume you make an ass out of u and me?
TheBeccable 6 months ago
@TheBeccable Did I ever say you were ignorant? I guess you didn't know that they did human expirements on Koreans BEFORE the war after they conquered them. Just because Sgt. Basilone says that it's wrong you start caring. Bet you didn't care before you watched this scene.
Agomongo1235 6 months ago
@Agomongo1235 I don't think you're understanding that that is irrelevant. As horrible as it is. If men don't respect an enemy, they let their guards down and this, as a direct result it gets them killed. And what Basilone is saying here isn't necessarily relevant to the subject you are so insistent makes it okay to underestimate people that can and will kill you if you aren't careful. Thats all he's saying here, that they can and will kill you so don't look down on them as a military power.
TheBeccable 6 months ago
@TheBeccable If only we had heeded Sgt. John Basilone's advice, maybe the War in the Pacific wouldn't have been nearly as long and horrible.
