dont do this anymore. got pressurised cookers that pressurize the fat intro the chicken and cook the shit out of it. giving it that yummy sloppy crappy goodness.. god i hate working there. still have 2 of these circle cookers at work though for wicked wings and zingers.
@MrToiletclogger Yep, we have the big fryer that we call the "8 head" that you pull the lid down then lock it into place, I don't know the technical name for it. We almost always cook original chicken only in that one, but we will use the circle fryer that we call the 6 head machine for 2,4's, and 6's. You guys don't have a circle fryer at all?
@MrToiletclogger Oh wow, we just have one of each and an open fryer that we use for Crispy, Wedges, Pop.Chicken, Strips and Filets. How big is your KFC? Where at?
@MrToiletclogger Wow. Pretty interesting to talk to someone else that works at a KFC. When you guys bread the chicken do you follow the 7 seconds rule? Dip the chicken in water, then let drain for 7 seconds, then shake 7 times, then toss in flour 7 times. Then shake the flour of 7 times?
Does anyone know of a fast-casual restaurant in NYC that sells boneless fried chicken that's made like this? Obvliously not KFC because its completely different there these days.
i think the only reason it has changed is because they really isnt the safest way to cook chicken, pulling metal out that can splash oil on the person, drop chicken into the cooker that can contain water which causes the cooker to spit. plus they have a pressure release too close to the cook..but man this is funny
I've got the breading procedure. It's killer! It's somewhere around 17 minutes long so youtube won't let me load it in full. I haven't gotten down to slicing it in half. When I do, you'll be sure to know.
Awesome! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this excellent video! Lessee, he sounds like he's from Canada (which means their procedures were closer to what Colonel Sanders preferred, as he never sold out his Canadian Operations in 1964, when he sold to Brown and co.) and 1985 was two years BEFORE PepsiCo bought them out, thereafter destroying KFC. AND the cooker's a Collectramatic!
But if you want the actual recipe of 11 herbs and spices, you'll definitely need to go TCK (My forum: check profile)

With all that hot oil splashing around (especially with yanking of the 'tumbler'), working as a cook at KFC doesn't seem to be worth $7.54 an hour.

why do americans say erbs?
joshrulez2244 5 months ago 2
@joshrulez2244 the h on herbs is silent, so it's pronounced "erbs"
jjfatty33 5 months ago
@joshrulez2244
That's a good question.
smunge 5 months ago
@smunge The "H" is not silent. We use phonics when pronouncing the word "Herb"
zondy2009 1 month ago
@joshrulez2244 well.. how do you pronounce it? "hhhhherbs"?
ChrisAlexanderVEGAS 5 months ago
@ChrisAlexanderVEGAS Just simply herbs without the h being silent. Thats how we say herbs in england so :P
joshrulez2244 5 months ago
@joshrulez2244 you also say tomato as toe-mah-toe… and i hate it. Lol

VICNASTY1989 1 month ago
@joshrulez2244 Because it IS pronounced erbs. It is NOT pronounced herbs.
corey72723 1 month ago
@corey72723 Then again, it depends on which country pronounces those words. I rest my case. So both are correct.
