If this does not illicit sympathy and compassion in you, I'd worry very much about the worth of your nature/personality. There but for the grace of God go you. Addiction is a disease, you don't plan it or choose it. Saying no to drugs comes as natural as scratching your nose to most people....for others it is impossible. It's an addictive gene....it is written in the very genetic code of these poor people. Whether it manifests in alcoholism, drug abuse or gambling....addiction is addiction.

Hi David....I actually found that entire documentary in the 5 parts & was reading the comments & saw a message from you to someone regarding the amount you paid for the ibogaine treatment & it lead me to your channel. I've been on methadone for over 12 years & was a heroin addict & started because I was given opiate pills (lortab & morphine) at the age of 10 for back problems & because I was a ballet dancer. I would hurt so bad I couldn't move, but the pills took away the paid & I could dance.

con't---I'm only 34 years old, but began this hell of addiction at 10 with opium pills & moved to heroin at 16, had my daughter at 21 & got off everything to have her, got on methadone at 22, quit methadone cold turkey at 24 due to family pressuring me, relapsed with oxycontin & heroin & got back on methadone at 24 & have been free of heroin & opiate pills since 24, but have been stable on methadone since then. For me, methadone saved my life-it's for some, but not all addicts. Thx David!
