  • This isn't peach

  • ok, look. tool and peach were strong influences on each other. there's no sense arguing which ones better, they're both the most epic sounds ever. but after tool's bass player left, who filled the gap? peaches bass player :D

  • Maynard's vocals are just so much better

  • Goddamn, Tool is the only band I know of that can cover a song and make it 10x better than the original.

  • fuhckin love this

  • YOU LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • both versions are great

  • So funny that this and spasm sound like covers of tool rather than the other way around

  • so... at the end of the song... what is he saying?

  • this is great...look forward to hearing the Tool version

  • @turinotzaki you might never need to hear this version again. it's good to give them credit, but the comparison stops right there.

  • I believe I would have been 2 when these guys played this( 94)?

    Ohh my word, wowww.

    Thank you

Peach was brought to me courtesy of Chancellor and Tool, privilege!

  • Peach Kicks Ass

  • Vocals just don't bring the song alive like Maynard's do. But They did compose a brilliant piece of artwork. So props for that.

  • Peach is good enough to have Tool cover their songs.

Peach also gave Tool Justin Chancellor so y'all can be quiet now.

  • holy shit.. peach should be as famous as tool, I guess their name sucks

  • LOVE.

  • y was i unsurprised to find this thread full of ravenous tool fan boys lol

  • am i the only one that thinks the singer kinda looks like christian bale if he got kinda fat and grew a sweet ass beard?

  • Justin fucking Chancellor! Tool is the best but this album is one of my favorite underground alt metal albums.

  • @justunbelievable First of all, tool rocks live, second of all this isnt live

  • wow.. I like the Hungarian lyric from 6:02

  • @magharius what do they mean?

  • @atack117 I mean the singer is Hungarian or he speaks the Hungarian language really well.

Or do you ask the meaning of the lyrics?

  • @magharius yeh if you could translate for me itd be much appreciated :)

  • im not gonna say anything about which is better , tool or this one , but i will say maynard sang this ALOT better.

  • You're all wrong. This live version smokes any attempt tool ever did.

  • @justunbelievable Lol. Your fuckin insane

  • I won't enter into the original/cover debate, but the lead singer does look a bit like Rupert from Survivor a few seasons ago

  • This song is incomplete without Maynard.

  • So when was this concert recorded?

  • Whose the big hairy dude whispering? lol

  • Can I be excused for liking Peach's version better?

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome!

  • Today I learned by accident that You Lied was a cover. I think youtube should be used for music lovers like me to discover and learn about the music they love. Not to compare, contrast, and most of all mention irrelevant pop stars on every video, and bitch at each other. Peace and love!

  • @TheNHRaider I agree 100% with what you said.

  • @TheNHRaider last.fm dude, it's the one. it makes a library of ll the songs you've listened to, it's really really easy to check out artists that are related to ones you like, has a little info about the band and even tell you what gigs are going to be in your area based on what you listen to, really really worth the while if you check it out

  • @standingoneawall Thanx man. appreciate it. It's cool to encounter people who are all about bein civil, sharing music and what not. sick of people trollin and comparin everything to u know who.

  • This version is not bad, its pretty good in fact! :)

  • 3 people have sex with necrophiliacs on a regular basis..............

  • @justunbelievable fail attempt at getting thumbs up

  • I love this song, but it took a few listens (the tool version first, then this) to appreciate it. I thought it was joke first because it is SO similar to a Black Sabbath riff, i thought they were doing some kind of homage to Sabbath within the song. The vocals here are completely inferior to Maynards though.

  • @spiderprint But isnt that a matter of opinion. You cant really say something is.. only that you think what you think

  • They should sing it on two voices in last part.... and that second "vocalist" is just whispering and saying sth in nordic... Tool did it better. I don't like voice of Peach main singer.

  • I'm glad there's actually a fair few people who know 'you lied' and salival for a start and can appreciate the original of an awesome song

  • I happen to find it pretty hardcore sounding

  • people need to get off maynards dick, anyone with that amount of reverb would sound great. peaches version is pretty tight with the guys singing in different voices. seriously all this worshiping tool like theyre gods descendant from heaven is pretty much the opposite of what tool is about. the worst thing about tool are the fans who act like tools

  • @jak231 While I agree that people need to stop acting like tools in regards to the band, you cannot deny the sheer emotion that drives Maynards lyrics and songwriting; not to mention his voice sounds awesome whether it's live or in studio.

  • True but the song is still awesome. Although Maynard is still the king w/the voice of an angel.

  • you guys are aware justin chancellor is from this band too?

  • they need 3 vocalists to try and be as strong as maynard but its still not enough

  • Black Sabbath on the main riff?

  • Maynard sang better,, but i think the Peach drummer and Justin did a good job. Adam Jones did better than the Peach guitarist too

  • listening to this version after Tool's was a bad idea xD you know they're good but you can't replace maynard's voice

  • In my opinion, this is just as awesome as the cover from tool. ;-)

  • it's not cause is tool bot vocals are better with tool the atmosphera they created was out of this world both are great but tool is awesome

  • Tool is one of my all time favorite bands, but I honestly prefer Peach's version of You Lied way more.

  • Tool are one of my all time favorite bands, but I honestly prefer Peach's version of You Lied way more.

  • I disagre... TOOL is awesome but Peach was an excellent band and their version of this song and spasm are both better than tools covers.

  • This version is definitely better. Better vocals for sure.

  • fucking amazing song! both versions!

  • This is not Justin :) on the bass I mean

  • This is not Justin :)

  • OG version is KICK ASS!!! Nice!!!

  • now justins hair is super long, this song looks super fun to jam to

  • @Ilikefoodaton

This is my bands warm up jam! the best for bass and drums bro!

  • now justins hair is super long

  • JUSTINNNNN

  • Epic!

  • Everytime TOOL does something its better than it was originally lol idk why? No one can compare...

  • Wow ...Justin Chancellor was in this group before Tool?? cool!! I now see why he fit so well when he joined Tool. Peach is a great group.

  • Hate to say this, but Tool's cover is so much better and that's not at all surprising. They make everything so much better. Maynard's powerful vocal and Adam's guitar sound deeper and meditative almost. But a big thank you to Peach for coming up with the original anyway. BTW, who the hell is that homeless looking singer? Very sad vocal support...too weak compared to Maynard. Like that cute guitarist in the brown shirt.

  • I CANT STAND THE ON-BEAT GUITAR PLAYING

    adam jones rules. just saying

  • why does no one in this band look like justin?

  • @parasiticlittletick It's the guitar player with the blonde hair...I don't think it was the bassist....

  • @parasiticlittletick

This is after Peach disbanded and Justin went to tool. The rest are the same members but under the name "Suns of the Tundra"

  • Bite me, but I like this version better.

  • @Ihatecandy4ever i like this version much more too :P

  • Lots of posts mention tool.

    Lots mention Justic Chancellor

Justin Chancellor left Peach to join Tool. I'm sure they were Tool's support in the 90s.

  • Maynard's voice is just too powerful for Peach to match up but they deserve all the credit that an original writer should

  • they camed up with the song, tool just perfected it =))

  • Is...is that....I think....is that Jason Newsted on rhythm guitar!?!? LOL

  • @Tatts50 no, it's not Jason Newsted. from long distance maybe this guy looks like him but it is not jason

  • @Tatts50 Ahah...true... looks like Jason during "Load" era...

  • Tool did a better cover than these hacks did the original song

  • Good shit.

  • @iamdorkette Cool song, wheres justin? was he always in this band or did he replace an existing bassist, or did he leave the band?

  • thats justin Chancellor from tool isnt it?

  • no he doesnt do shows w. peach anymore. he sounds alot like him tho. certainly not a disapointment to peach fans

  • yes, first he was here, but he also was a very big fan of Tool and knows a lot of songs from them and tool asked him if he wanna go at them and he accepted

  • @JakeFrushendrix yes :D

  • Tools version is much better, but these guys wrote it, without them tool wouldn't of covered it

  • yeah kudos, i respect these guys for the arrangement of the song and the energy, but i love the vocals from TOOL.. can't complain tho, pretty intense

  • Tool are better? Yes. But still this guys deserve respect. They composed this song.

  • sound very like the smiths or some such, tool version is much better

  • this guys vocals bug me... TOOL...

  • Is that Justin Chancellor with them? If so, He definitely look wayyy different back then. Kicking music by the way. very good stuff!

  • it's not justin. this is way after his era.

  • @Arachnid1111 the drummer kinda looks like justin though... : o

  • I can respect peach for being the original creators of this song, but maynard's vocals just bring a whole new godly element to this song. plus these dude's guitars are out of tune lol.

  • Im listening to this and writing a story about a rapist.

    perfect.

  • I watch this over Tools version..simply awesome.

  • i am a die hard tool fan...but i feel that the peach version is better except 4 the drums...carrey plays that better but i think the overall sound ov the peach version is better

  • i dunno, i prefer the way maynard sings it to this guy

  • They wrote the original. Those who know know, those who don't don't, and have no clue. If you would like to learn let me know.

  • that guy has a silverburst just like adam.

  • i like this song...yep

  • rool kills peach hahahahahaha

  • first I heard Tool version and i MUST say that Peach version sucks. OK, maybe it is their song, but I'm sorry- Tool made it fucking better

  • AMEN!!

  • Tool makes every version of every song better.. including their own.. that shit they did with pushit live was insane.. I can't even listen to the aenima version anymore

  • agreed

  • @TheAwc2009 holy shit i know! i got Salival right when it came out and at the time was in Salem with damn near 3 feet of snow - i hate being cold but those songs kept me outside admiring the beauty all week

  • TOOL is one of the biggest bands in the world but they will never make "Demon Cleaner" better than Kyuss or "you lied" better than Peach..

  • @TheAwc2009 The don't do spasm as good.

  • @TheAwc2009 i agree with that, the live version was the SHIT

  • @TheAwc2009 agreed... salival is full of amazing stuff, that version of pushit had me blown away through out

  • @TheAwc2009 what would those be?

  • @TheAwc2009 they didnt do that to Demon Cleaner by Kyuss

  • god damn this band sucks... dont like this version at all man... its disgusting actually....

  • yep, it really is

  • This riff kicks so much ass! Da....Da.... Da.Da.Da.Da....Da... Heavy and awesome!

  • Meh i like it, i preffer the way Justin plays it with a chorus pedal.

And why is there a random homeless man whispering into the mic?

  • thanks... this comment made me spit my drink all over my screen... hahahah

  • I love this song, both with Maynard on Vocals and the old lead singer for Peach. I think its not fair to compare, both are splendid. I do like the live version from both bands best. Its kind of like The Nurse Who Loved Me, I actually like Failure's version just as much if not better. Besides, as little music as Maynard and the bunch puts out (referring to Tool; Maynard does enought to satisfy my cravings) I'll take anything that is similar to the progressive style of Tool.

  • amen

  • i know tool didnt write this but it sounds so like them.. i really like this original though

  • This is one the best songs ever!!!

  • Maynard may sing better but this version is just as amazing as the tool cover. I don't like the Peach studio version so much

  • okay, thumbs up for writing this song for Peach, but Tool's version is like 10 times better.

  • obv chancellor will play it better cuz he wrote the song with peach...wtf??

ob he d play it better!!!u ll need a life n stop comparin...am a big tool fan but credit the blokes 4 composin the song...i think its an amazin song..

leave their musc to em n respect em 4 wat they r... y in every peach n kyuss topic do v hav to cry over tool n the other...

  • haahaha tool blew this shit up. must suck always being in their shadow (im not making fun i sincerely feel bad. that's a tough place to be)

  • Hmm...I'm a Tool's fan, and I love(:)) Justin Chancellor's bass (He is my master) but i think the Peach Version is not too bad. Ofcurse we haven't Justin's Bass and Maynard's voice but I like it. Only the End is horrible, I hate when the Vocalist scream witchout sense...

  • good on originality.

the actual execution of the song by tool is better though.

  • Comment removed

  • they play badly

  • They wrote this song.

  • this song sends chills down my spine... i love it... and i love the tool version!

  • The album version is better in my opinion.

I really wish these guys could have taken off and been sort of the "euro" rivals of Tool. Definitely wish I was old enough to be a Tool fan when they were touring with Peach.

  • vocal is very weak..

  • guitarist too

  • but bass is fine :]

  • bass too...justin chancello better..

  • justin chancellor is better*****

  • i love how the singer is chillin and sitting down

  • i wouldnt say the tool cover blows this away at all.

  • oh eayh

  • What year was this shot? Anyone know?

  • fucking sweet song

  • fucking A is that a Stingray the bassist has?

  • fuuuuckkkkkk justin fits there better

  • which ones justin?

  • no justin chancellor was there before...he left for tool

  • the tool cover blows this away...still damn good but maynard is a force to be reconed with
