  • @spartan765 Schiltz is right, and also, the upper handguard/gas block should NOT wobble. Anyone planning to purchase a wasr model rifle, stay the hell AWAY from this video

  • LMFAO at osama poster in the background on the wall

  • It's very easy what to look for. If it's a WASR, don't buy it. Class over. Any questions?

  • Wow lmao bad video can't even hear u

  • he looks like the guy who made out with his sister from eurotrip thumbs up if you agree!

  • @aaronShumate1967 Than youve got a wierd one

  • why waste money on such a sketch gun? yugo m70ab2 is around $100 more. with that hun the owner gets a lot more quality and life out of the rifle.

  • my shit dont rattle the gas tube that is

  • Dumb ass kid thinks he knows shit about his dads guns lol

  • @hangchangmusser Stfu bitch, maybe when you contribute over 400 vids you can talk shit otherwise GFY.

  • @litematter

When he's getting basic things wrong, I can talk all the shit I want kid. If you owned an AK variant you would know he's talking out of his ass.

  • @hangchangmusser lol a 21 yr old bitch calling others kid. This is youtube moron where normal people try to put up somewhat helpful vids for other people. I also own three and he gives some good points for novices to know what to look for. So again i say stfu and go back to CoD where calling people kid is cool.

  • @litematter

Naw I'm good, cod sucks. I'll just go back to a place where people are somewhat intelligent (the real world)

  • He has put his face in front of the barrel enough to where im uncomfortable lol

loaded or unloaded its still foolish

  • @702Pierce i agree...i cannot listen or attempt to take the advice of someone who stares down the barrell of a weapon loaded or not. remember you always and i mean ALWAYS treat a gun as if it were loaded !!

  • @702Pierce How exactly do you check the rifling then? Ignorantly buying a mishandled POS is more dangerous then checking the condition of your rifle. If you weren't smart enough to eject the clip, empty the chamber and flip on the safety then your an example of natural selection doing its job.

  • i looked at mine before i got it its got a little wobble but its not noticeable nothing is canted everything was fine and it came with 2 romanian metal mags 20 tullammo fmj rounds (which were gone when i got home) and a bayonet and it was only $400 used great gun i really like it and i plan to coat the foregrip

  • i really should have watched this before i got my wasr... i must have gotten lucky though. no problems with mine and it shoots amazing. love these guns

  • You bought a Lancaster? You're probably sitting on a bigger piece of shit with that than a real Cugir built WASR.

  • The WASR 10 did have some magazine wobble and and the front sight was canted and it did affect the accuracy and i was not pleased with that. the stock could have used some attention with some sanding and some other stain added, the stock was rather rag tag ugly but its an AK...there meant to be throw around and trashed. The WASR 10 is a decent gun if its for causal target shooting or drunk shooting or just thrashin around... for the money its worth it.

  • YOUR DAME RIGHT ....ABOUT EVERYTHING TO CHECK GREAT VIDEO

  • well considering that every video that i look for in russian milsurp weapons, your vid has always come up first im just going to sub to you already thanks for the advise and keep on doing what you do

  • I have found in my time of working on WASRs that about 80% of them are out of headspace, Mostly too little. Its a big fix, but a few headpsace gauges while WASR shopping cant hurt as well.

  • Awesome video. I'm going to a huge gun show in november and i'm trying to learn as much as possible between now and then.

  • Thanks a million man. I'm going shopping tomorrow and now I know what to look for !

  • the bolt "latching back" is NOT a design feature for cleaning. where did you get that idea from?

  • @Schlitz Where did you get the idea that its not from? I know just about nothing about aks, but I do know that most of the people on here who think, say, they know about them know less than me.

  • @ttv112233 The only reason the bolt stays back if you gently let go is because it's a crudely built gun. Go ahead, "latch it back" (not latching on anything) and start cleaning. have fun busting your finger in the chamber when the bolt flies forward. The bolt staying back when you baby it is NOT a feature for cleaning. That claim is boarder line trolling, and if he was trolling he was successful.

  • soo the wasr 10/63 taks double stack mags right

  • Great video bro got a lot of questions answered,

  • Mine says it' was made by CN ROMARN. Ever heard of it, it has a threaded barrel and a side scope mount.

  • Awesome Video. Thanks!

  • damn good video Spartan! i learned more in your 5 minute video than i did from spending 3 hours reading online AK forumns. thanks.

  • Another nice vid. Thanks.

  • my gas tubes dont wobble and ive never had one that does and ive had probably 30-40 aks in my life

  • everyone who gets failure to feeds with WASR's are using hollow points and soft points. From what I've seen and heard the WASR's only feed FMJ's.

  • or just get a saga chambered in 7.62x39mm or in a 308/223/410/20gauge/12gauge probably going to be more accurate than an AK any way

  • great video helped me learn to look for when getting one of these before i make a mistake

  • Good vid. I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive "trunk gun" and the WASR just may be it.

  • Excellent vid man it was right to the point and informative thanks for the help I appreciate it.

  • a crown shouldnt be worn on a new gun correct?? or do wasrs come like that sometimes

  • so normally the gas block should be strait? i was looking at a milled polish variant AK-47 by century and the gas block was a little bit to the left. i didn't buy it i know you said that's not bad if it is a bit but can that cause problems if its not totally strait? i would think a milled AK-47 one wouldnt have to worry about crappy work...

  • (ctd. from below) w inches to the right, but now it's more or less dead on or at least to the limits of my shooting such as it is. I like the gun.

  • My WASR has performed flawlessly. I probably have put 5-600 rounds of various ammo through it without failure. I did have a very slightly canted front sight post, but I used the front sight adjustment wrench to raise the sight dropping the point of impact. Then I used a 1/4" flat punch to hit the round cylinder (look for the round circle on the blade of the sight post staring at the rifle from the side) toward the side to which the point of impact is off the bullseye. Mine was shooting a fe

  • Nice job, as a sidebar, I've heard that the WASR 10/63 rifles built on Romarm Cugir SA parts kits are better than those built on Saadu Arms parts kits. Look for 'Cugir' stamped on the receiver. Also, don't buy a WASR built on a parts kit manufactured in the 1980's I am told. Cugir was dismantled by Ceaucesqu for political reasons and they supposedly have quality issues. (mine is dated 1968). Also look on the receiver or trunion for a small triangle with an up arrow stamped on the receiver.

  • Wow thank man.

  • Thank you for this video.

  • Good advice thanks I used it when looking over my new century arms gp 1975

  • i have used a few wasr's or ak types with just about every thing "wrong" with them. they STILL perform just like any "right" wasr/ak ! very accurate and goes bang every time. you cant beat the price you pay for a wasr. the overall design is next to perfect.

  • Great video. I'm thinking about picking up a wasr10 some time and this is the best video I've come across about picking out a good one.

  • Ok, is the canted sight the actual post in the middle or is it the whole front sigh assembly?

  • @95000026

The canted front sight assembly on the WASR-10 is from the way the barrel was notched for the pins. If you can't return the rifle, the best and proper way to fix it is to buy a new barrel and notch it properly. Still cheaper than an Arsenal or Lancaster rifle.

    WASR-10 - $350 + New Barrel - $90 = $440

Lancaster Arms rifle - Over $640

  • mine is in perfect condition no canted sight or gasblock and no gaps between trunion and recever

  • my gas tube/upper hand gaurd has no wobble on my 10/63

  • This and the other AK videos are very helpful. My WASR-10 has given me no cause to regret its purchase. Mine has the year 1979 on the front trunnion--is that in fact the production year of the rifle as it is affixed to a Cugir stamped receiver?

  • The shop where I bought mine sends back crap WASR's to Century, so the only ones they have are the good ones. Oh and btw, the bolt-hold-back on them isn't a design feature, it's the bolt hanging up on a burr on the hammer. It can slam shut at any time and if your fingers are in there it's gonna smart XD

I advise removing the burr when you get the rifle, it'll make the action a lot smoother.

  • @Goodspittin

100% right about the so called bolt-hold-back on the rifle.

  • wasr 10 /63 pretty good

  • yah, that was a great video

  • hey thanks for making this video, it helped me a lot. also thanks for making it so fast. i was planning on getting an sks, but i thought for 100 bucks more i could go for an ak, and i especially wanted one when i saw them for 450 bucks. so anyway thanks a bunch!

  • Thanks for the last two vids they were really informative.
