Hi, I am looking into buying one of these, I have an everio gz hd30, this also has HDD right? I can just use USB to take the files off and edit right?
i have a question. i own this camera and i just uploaded some videos to my computer...but it wont let me open them in Sony Vegas. what should i do to fix this??? and also, why does my camera say ''video file management is broke, would you like to recover'' after every time i remove it from the computer??
if anyone could answer my 2 quesions, that would be swesome!!!!!! please help ,e!!!
is this a good camera for independent filmmaker? or would the hv30 be better? i really love the focus ring on the JVC. PlEASE HELP ME! most videos would be uploaded online
go for it. I used it, and as long as your prepared to take the time to import, convert and edit your video in turn for stunning image quality, then yes, good camera.
i have a jvc hd7. do i need to buy a special lens to use lens filters? can i remove the hood somehow? can i put the filters on with the hood still on? how do i do it? anyone can respond and i'd deeply appreciate it!
I have a jvc everio gzhd7, but I can not find any program to do the mounting power of my movies. please help me. what you use to mount your movies?like you to have a good resolution when exporting movies? please rispond
Not sure what you mean by mounting. Do you mean capturing the footage? You can use firewire on a mac or PC for full quality, or there are a lot of programs that can deal with tod files. I use a mac laptop with iMovie 08 which edits in full HD.
i have purchased none of them yet but i got myself a Panasonic HDC-HS100 in london last week and the quality is pretty good. i have uploaded some full HDD videos already last night. check my vids for the quality. what do you think?
i seriously thinking about to buy a camera and i am kinda stucked between a eviero HD2 HiDef cam and a regular canon XL2 pro video cam which is not a HD cam but provides awesome picture quality. which one would you prefer if you had the choice?
Interesting question because I own both. I use the XL for more 'serious' work when a serious camera is needed to 'look professional' but I'm using it less and less. HD7 does not shoot progressive so the XL will definitely give you a better film/frame look.
I have the same camera and am dieying to know how do you switch the focus from the front image to the back ground and vice-versa? Ive been looking to do that effect but with no results...
on the lcd menu where you change shutter speed/ lighting, there is an option for auto focus and manual focus, set it on manual focus. get close to something and manually focus on it, then while recording you can focus on something further away, making the first object blur.
Its called 'Pull Focus'. hit the Auto/Man button to change it to manual mode. Then on the front of the camera hit the focus button which will change from auto to the focus ring around the lense. Then go have fun!
@cannibalxculprits If i rotate the focus ring to the left the icon(arrow) bounces to the left and right but nothing happens. Does this mean my focus ring is broken?
how'd u go about editing the mod files? with my PC I just rename the last MOD to MPG, it would pretty much be the same on Mac right? no need to flame either, I'm just wonderin, I wish there was a quicker way to edit them on both tho.
Just AWESOME! five stars! Great camera! I have it, but i can't reach the same quality on editing because i dont hav a MAC... or iMovie08..., I edit my videos on after effects and then i compress them on movie maker.... do you have any solutions for me so i could get this same quality on youtube? any other kind of compressor?
Movie Maker may not be the best solution for uploading to Youtube. If you know someone with a mac, upload all your videos from their computer because from iMovie 08 they look quite good once online. Otherwise explore quicktime and search some forums. Good luck!
No adaptors - just the HD7 straight from the box. No tripod on this shoot either, so mainly handheld or using environmental camera stands (posts/ground etc)
this is great!!!!!! i love the qulaity. do you think this the best right now for the consumer professional. how long does that battery last per use. thanks
this camera shoots very nice. I like the manual focus ring. wish I had one :)

I use this cam all the time and its very good indeed - more so in manual mode where creative control is very easy.
Though I have more expensive cams, this one is very handy and offers `Pro` results if you know what you're doing.

the hood should pop right off with a little bit of a turn to the left with it...
you cant put a lens on when the hood is on
i think the filter size is like 48...? check to see what your filter size is and pop your hood off and then you can add any of your lenses

Research the site before you do. I found a deal like that and almost got scammed out of $500. Be careful who you buy from. Hope its not too late.
