  • this is bullshit. xD!

  • Woah that looks hard. Awesome job.

  • ok, that's cool and all BUT HOW DO YOU DO THAT?!?!?!?!

I (chris cannon from Vertigo venus) am so sick of seeing guys (and gals) show off there 8 finger tapping skills and tell NO ONE how to do it. But good work dude, wish i could do that.

  • how long have you been playing? that was amazing!

  • People really think sweeping is hard? It took me about to ten minutes to get it smooth.

  • @7SethMurrant7 you must be realy lucky, ive been working at it for two months!

  • @7SethMurrant7 me too. 3 string sweeps came instantly. learning the patterns and up to 6 string sweeps took me 20 minutes maybe

  • @DietGrape Hmm so you think 3 string sweeping is easy, try learning the sweep solo of Glass Prison by Dream Theater. That shit will rape you :P

Takes ages to get that clean

  • @vbdude006 i couldnt agree more that lick is crazy.

  • Does anybody know how in the hell you get your guitar to have that weird tone? I can tap this intro right its just when i play it it sounds different, it has alot of feedback.

  • @DannyDaWiz the feedback might be because your strings arent muted, try using the side of your left hand to press down on the strings, if that doesnt help... then im not sure what to tell u

  • @DannyDaWiz maybe youre guitar isent in tune all the way

  • @DannyDaWiz recently i read somewhere that vai uses a synth pickup, or a synth pedal or something like that. and for the feedback, use a gate, or mute the strings

  • can you post a lesson on this? idk what it is but i can't seem to get this thing down

  • omfg,u are awesome, that song is so hard

  • Because people like different things?

  • play the tapping solo :D

  • awesome stuff. . keep it up !!

  • żarty se robisz koleś?:D

  • I wanna the tapping solo¡

  • The tapping intro looks insane but is pretty easy.

I could do it at a slow tempo 30 mins after learning it.

  • it loks so hard to play but is not realy,u just need to try and u vill see is easy...

  • what channel am i supposed to use for the tapping parts?

  • Don't you just love how the things that look hard, really aren't. But the things that look easy like sweeping aren't?

  • lol I was amazed at how hard sweeping was when I first started learning it, but when you get it, you'll never forget it :)

  • Why did I get a thumbs down? It's true.

Sweeping looks easy, but it took me a while to get it down. Legato picking looked really hard, but it didn't take too long to understand it.

  • fuck who ever gave u a thumbs down i know exactly what you mean !!! thumbs up

  • @VideoGameSpeed sweeping was pretty easy to me but whatever lol

  • @DietGrape

Congratulations to you then. But for the rest of the 10 million guitar players out there, it's fucking hard.

  • @VideoGameSpeed yea i guess i was lucky. and my parents used to force me to play violin before, and that got me to use my pinky without practicing when i started playing guitar.

  • @VideoGameSpeed

both of your comments got thumbs up haha

  • I don't really love it :P Sort of frustrating but yeah I know what you mean :)

  • I dunno man, sweeping is pretty easy for me, but I can't play the tapping solo on this song.

The part on this video is easy just because it doesn't move, but check out the solo!

  • i'd prefer to tap arpegios instead of sweep them, because i cant sweep to save myself

  • yeah i HATE sweeping SO FUCKIN HARD!

  • take a sweeping arpeggio just one, and practice it up and down for a while, watch tv while doing it, thats how i learned, same arpeggio for and hour lol

  • true that, lol as said by others: 'if they play it any faster it might sound like an actual chord.' i can sweep slightly but never try to learn it or use it in any improv, i like the true skill of legato and good ole running scales.

  • i have a much faster way of learning them lol take a metronome and set it for 80 bpm, play the arpeggio in 8th notes, play it 10 times perfect and then increase the metronome by 1. i'm probably gonna get a lot of crap by people saying it's overkill and you don't NEED to do that, but guess what, if you do it you'll be better at sweeping than they are so they can shove it! :) it seems to take a long time but you will progress much faster this way, trust me

  • fuck u, think i gonna read that?!

  • k, then go without sweeping

  • im sorry it was my "friend" who replied SORRY

  • np, your friend needs to learn how to respond better to advice though lol

  • @Ironwolg

You are exactly right man, that's how I learned to do it. Anyone reading would be wise to take that advice. :]

  • this is all true

  • @VideoGameSpeed It all depends on how much time you put into practicing it. If you spend an equal amount of time working on your tapping and sweeping, your performance should scale about the same in both fields, whereas if you get frustrated with sweeping and tap for a while (because *OPINION* it's more fun), then your sweeping will fall behind.

  • @VideoGameSpeed you find that sweeping looks easy?

  • @JORDnYAN Sweep picking is easy :) Just play and play and play and then you maybe play this good ;D

  • @VideoGameSpeed Well at least when you start sweeping, it's the hardest thing ever, but once you get it it feels very fluent and easy!

  • left hand and right pleaze

  • fuckin fantastic

  • your right, it's not bad putting your vids up but it's also not very humble when theres no tutorial

  • exelente 5 estrellas.. :D

  • your opinion sucks

  • ok.

  • i just love that response :D

  • One may not like Vai, and there's no problem with that at all. But anyone who says he is "monotonous", clearly has no idea what he/she's talking about.

  • how did you know i was he/she??

  • Magic :-)

  • nobody will be able to do this unless your "action" or strings height is low.

mine is very low, i got a Fender Strat (22 frets) and an Ibanez JS100.

so if you got one of those cheap guitars your string height matters, unless you got elephant fingers.

  • due, i have one guitar with a high action strings to practice tapping and haming-on, sometimes legato too, and i can do it in my guitar, few weeks ago y couldn't but now i can, secret? use a high action guitar to practice and when you grab a low action one you'll fuck up with everything. As Malmsteen said :P

  • it looks realy hard, but isn't

although the speed takes some practice

  • nice dude!!

  • ok i play guitar and i know i cud nvr do this in a million years bt tbf it sounds crap bt i still understand it takes skill 2 play

  • dude u cud definatly play it man tapping is BULLSHIT! its awsome but the secret is it sounds hard wen its really easy, and u right about it sounding like crap the mix between the audio quality and the effect he is using makes it sound bad. in person i bet its awsome tho!

  • Your a retard. Anything is easy if you play easy stuff. Tapping is awesome and can be extremely difficult. I bet you cant 6-8 finger tap

look at vai's bad horsie tapping solo

  • not really i mean playing this little bit isnt hard. i did over exaggerate but for me tapping is easy. i dont 6 finger tap i do more reb style tapping up and down the neck

  • I see.

  • i put a vid up to learn how to play it, if u or anyone else wants to check it out

  • what effect doyou use'???

  • Nice. Impressive, that's for sure!

  • neck pick up?

  • ahh stevo is just awesome! i see ppl here arguing who's the better player. i suppose its down to your cuppa tea innit???!!!

  • that's what he said isn't it?

  • you honestly can't say steve vai isn't music.

if you do, you know nothing about steve vai or music at all.

  • i dont know any steve vai really, but i said this isn't music in my opinion, and i still think that, and i think if u say this is music, u dont know wat music is, good job nonetheless and i would love to have ur skill

  • then do yourself a favour and find some of his music. Building the Church is an excellent song. This is just a dramatic intro that goes on for a couple of seconds before a churning metal riff takes over.

  • What you refere to as music is just one genre. It's called pop music.

  • i hate pop music, im a metal fan actually (pantera, metallica etc), but ye i'd say steve vai is a very talented guitar player and a great musician im just not really a big fan. i dont mean to offend or badmouth someone i dont know anything about

  • Is your username referencing to your wang?

  • yes... yes it is

  • Haha cool

  • im 13 and mine is bigger than yours

  • lol you better be black or thats a lie a BIG FILTHY LIE

  • If you think that's big than you are only admitting your small.

  • DUDE you have no idea what ur talking about, the average size at 12-14 er somethin is like 4 n a half to 5 ( i was curious about my size then )

  • why are we talking about wangs. the average kid at 14 is almost done with genital development (another inch or so to grow), and should be at about 5.5 inches, and some are luckier. anyway, wtf. steve vai is a badass.

  • steve vai is a monster

  • to phileasfogg07.steve vai does not play pop,he plays rock, metal and stuff like that.i hate pop

  • i love metal, however we shouldn't crucify pop music at all, there're shitty bands as great bands, take the beatles 4 example, u could also call some of the mr.big material as pop and it still rocks, ironically

  • umm... no. Just because of to be with you, and a few other ballad and acoustic songs you say its a money making exercise. What about colorado bulldog, that was a real pop song definitly only for money making...

  • listen to the rest of this song live. the intro might not be that musical or have alot of feel but i think the rest of the song definately does.

  • your just jealous one of the greatest guitarist is american.

  • it doesnt matter what nationality he is!

  • awesome! someone have a video lesson to learn how to ¨tap like that?

  • cool

  • Awesome,I have to learn that,it looks like fun

  • i see.....

  • perfect is all i can say

  • you should watch this guy play shy boy... amazing

  • Well it's cool and all, but tapping is nothing to be impressed by, I taught my 8 year old sister who can't play Iron Man to tap fluently.

  • except you blow at guitar judging from your video. How bout you record and send me a video of you doing multi fingered tapping with your picking hand?

  • That video was a while ago for one, and I know it was shitty.

And it isn't hard at all.

You must blow too if you don't know that.

  • Maybe you can teach yourself the basics of playing anything then. Everything about your video is extremely painful and you probably think you mastered tapping because the simple tapping style in "One". Even at that you fail because you're A. using a pick B. tapping much, much faster than your left hand is moving.

Nice work to video poster, who actually can play guitar.

  • ok Fair enough the above video is awesome, but Thee Outlaws is awful

It's like people have stabbed me over and over again.

  • Hey, I only said it's easy to tap. Don't be a prick.

  • well, tapping with a pick can be a useful trick, gives you a different tone. but seriously, I agree with you 100% on everything.

  • That video was a while ago for one, and I know it was shitty.

And it isn't hard at all.

    Stop being immature about it.

  • Roflmao! We're being immature? :L It's not our fault you SUCK. Dude, if you can record building the church intro a 10th as good as this, I'll eat my words, but You can't even do 3 finger tapping properly, so it'll properly just end up in the Fail pile, the Hilarious pile or maybe even the embarrassingly shit hypocrite pile. Y'all have a nice day now.

  • Of course he is playing this!

This is actually really easy, and the cover, in my opinion, did NOT suck.

  • in one solo you must use a pick, if not the taped note will sound to prominent , like in eruption, and about the hands, normally the tapping hand looks like moving faster but is not

  • does she have a boyfriend?

  • PERFECT!

  • I dont get all the low star ratings...this was awesome

  • thats what we call jealousy

  • Hmmm most likey

  • Hmm.... Can't really make my guitar make that synth alike sound. Wich effects should i use?

  • I don't use any effects on this.

  • Just a little boost?

  • Yep.

  • On the CD, there's a synth playing too. Listen closely, and you can hear guitar and synth separately.

  • OOOH! that gives me something harder to try then. i play really fast keys.

  • yeah! it s perfect!

  • that is THE most insane riff i've ever heard... perfect start to a perfect album

  • thx ^^ just what i needed ^^

  • thanks for that

  • Awsome dude. Tab for anyone who wants it, is on ultimate-guitar and is exactly how he plays it here.

Fantastic job dude, been practising non stop for a few hours tonight on this one part. Hoping to reach where your at ;).

  • good for a cell phone ring

  • very good.!

  • -_-

  • How long did it take to do that perfectly?

  • it auctually takes like a week to do it perfectly ive been practicing that for 3 days now check my video out:)

  • instead of the intro you shouldve done the second solo with all of the different tapping parts instead of just the D7sus chord tapping part. but very good job no mistakes.

  • Bit of advice Ugur! take all the fag shit about speeding it up and playing it on the wrong strings as compliments! If someone thinks ur orks to good to be true that cant be bad can it... Well played

  • Dude, perfect!

  • wuda been more convincing if u was on the right strings xD

  • They are the right strings you dick

  • Ya i realized that : P

sry youtube spazes, watchin this again it is well done

what effect is that? My song Midnight Lights would sound cool with that effect : )

  • Are You? Dumbass!

  • lol

  • they are on the right strings

  • you dont need to speed up your videos

  • It's not speeded up cuz I'm not stupid like you.

  • niiice

  • Awesome. Perfect tone.

  • dude grt work kindly post a slow version of this tapp then ppl can understand the finger and its movement

  • afina la viola como el tema y dspues hablamos

  • Thats fun to play, try the whole song, one of my favs to play.

  • EXTREMİST!!!

  • perfect

  • Very nice and accurate. Could you send me the tab please?

  • What are these tabs that everyone is asking for? Is it someway to help in learning how to play the song?

  • More or less accurate fingering positions for someone who doesn't have ultra good developed ear - like me.

  • Just what I need for this new music. I quit playing 20 years ago and have just started back. Thanks

  • No problem dude.

  • ¬¬

  • i agree.

  • ¬¬

  • ha lol. nice guitar

  • errrggghhhh, how long before it stops hurting, i mean how long u have to practise before your tapping fingers dont hurt anymore :P

  • play nothing but acoustic for a couple months and your electric will seem virtually painless.

  • dude wheres the tab for this, I dont want to analyze each finger lol, but it was very accurate, nice to see so many vai lovers..

  • how do you do that? I can't do it ever.

  • Where can i find Guitar Pro file of this?

  • type it in google or add my msn and ill send u it
