@MrEllinaras I have done it, but it involved scalloping the neck and installing HS-3 and YJM pickups (looked hideous), and that ibanez already had a vintage stratocaster tremolo and brass nut installed.... so id say no hehe

@EvilEyester Clearly the YJM signature strat. Blackmore has dark fretboard. Also very clean deep scallop. Nice guitar. I have it as well. I went into the practice of scalloping my guitars as well. It's just a playing feeling like no other. But I didn't have the proper tools. Took me 2 weeks to get it done on one fretboard. But at least it's perfect. And I paid 40 $ instead of 200$

I know your are using circular picking alot but whats about your alternate picking. Do you pick with a 90° angle? And where do you get your picking motion from? probably is a kind of a taste in sound.. but middle pickup also hasn't very "fat" sound neither too harsh... it's smthing in the middle... and doesn't make a great difference in tone or whatever... but well it can be a nice advantage for making a more "Strange" setup on your guitar... (just matter of EQ on pickups or tone working at same time with the neck or bridge pickup, nothing more)

As for me I LOVE Fender YJM, played in one and it's awsome. BUT I can never let go the middle positions using the middle pickup.

They DO have diferent tones (2nd and 3rd switch postion) and I love them.

(Eric Johnson uses them too).

Well, It's 'cos Yngwie like to flick from the bridge to the neck pickup to change tone at certain points in his songs.

The middle pickup doesn't offer a great difference in tone and so consequently he doesn't use it.
