The episodes where earl is in hospital were the worst but started to pick up again towards the end of it's run

check record stores, around here, some of them sell used for less than half and most of them are worth every penny, and in some cases are actually shrink wrapped new for the used price, i got all three remasterd trek seasons for the price of about one season new

seasons 1 and 2 arent the best of the simpsons. i own seasons 1-9 and the seasons you should perchase is season 3, 5, and 6. i also heard season 10 and 11 are good but i never saw them

My Name Is Earl is a great show which I love but I've kinda gone off it lately too, I think Season 3 was a serious step down from the others, it got really dull and boring towards the end of the season. I've heard Season 4's pretty good though so maybe theres still hope :D
