one of the hardest beats ive ever heard.. straight grimey as fuck underground freestyle shit. hiphop fell off dramatically. im tired hearing weak pretty boy ass niggas sing and shit and try to call it hiphop when its not even rap. i dont see how niggas be feelin that
I was walking through the halls of high school blasting this in my walkman constantly while my classmates were stuck on west coast. Eventually they caught on and maybe that's where it all went wrong. Maybe the leeches sucked all the blood out of early 90's hip hop and infested it with garbage..
I feel honored to be alive during that era of hip hop. Not only alive but paying attention. I didn't absentmindedly stumble across this beautiful music 5 years after it's peak, I was right there nodding my hooded head, stomping my Timbos on top of it. Much like I've wished I could have been around to see Hendrix play live, we know we were lucky to be a part of this time. Sadly we watch rap regress to mediocre rhymes and material meaning but being there back then will ALWAYS make up for it.
This came out in 1995!!! This is real Hip hop real talk!!! Much props!!! A straight diss to the Commerical Pop Rap aka Drake, Lil Wayne, and the other pop rap artists these days!!!
Im from Scotland and I grew up listening to proper hip hop like this what the F#ck is going on with todays artists they are weak as shit bring back the old school
dam although im from this generation like to go back to that era when shit was real, niggaz wit fucked up braids nappy ass beards n shit hoodys all that rough and rugged shit. Nowadays niggaz be on dat cars and clothes shit sounding like hoes at a fasion show.
Funny you mention that. I remember going through basic training(Navy), and riding on an escort van with some guys during liberty weekend. That's when I first heard C-N-N's "T.O.N.Y." Then I recall hearing Lil' Flip's "Sunshine" at a convenience store in Japan(right outside of Tokyo) when I was stationed out there. It's interesting where you get hooked on to how worldwide the music is when on duty, isn't it?
@02Stratus where were you stationed? I lived in Tokyo for 5 years 1998-2003. I went to a private school called St. MAry's International but we played the military base schools Zama, Yokota, and Kinnick (Yokosuka) as well as Misawa. It is crazy how sometimes in Tokyo on TV or in the streets you go to a store or walk and see music playing and you're like "Wow, they're really playing that song right now?"
@Kryp420 I was in Yokosuka for 2 years. From 2003-2005. I should've responded to you so long ago.....The whole earthquake/tsunami has had me hitting up my network of friends there to make sure everybody's alright.
@crazyhorsebear oh hell yeah those car jackers are insane in the dome my dude i grew up 15 miles from newark north jersey barracks holdin' it down solid
outstanding- this whole crew (OGC, boot camp clik, black moon, smiff-n-wessun etc). good music they never made it that big but i here there doing well for themselves doin shows all the time and have a very loyal fanbase.
ok, is it true though they are mking good money doing shows and have a very loyal fanbase? even if these guys never decided to go big, im sure they are living well. i mean shit they been in the game for a long time.
Peace for my niggaz Originoo Gunn Clappers & the incredibil rap team Heltah Skeltah , you know , not disrespect for the Wu tang Clan , but , for me , the best rap team is Boot Camp Click , Heltah Skeltah , Smif`N`Wessun , OGC , Black Moon , peace&love Brownsville , Brooklyn ! Fuck them Cocoa brovaz ! :)) word ¡
No disrespect, I would put the BCC number 2 and the Wu number 1. The Wu's contribution to hip-hop was more than music. They were ahead of their time with the Wu-wear appareal. Now alot of rappers make money like that. Plus the Wu had their own label and let the members sign with other "bigger" labels for their solo projects which was unprecedented at the time.
"Gunz and Onez" and "Black Trump" best collabos ever because its BCC teamin up wit the Wu.
what homie im under 26 i have mad knowledge on rap i mean hip hop ha lol gottach right .. i grow with alot older cats if ur from the east u dont understand the west coast!!!we sceaming
this dat shit that remind me of the fuckin'green field jacket, crispy constructs or beef and broccoli timb's with the matchin drawstring green field hat..aka scramble gear
if you can find the black moon album "diggin' in duh vaults" that's got the remixes on it you'll find it there-the remix for "i gotcha opin" is on there too.
dammm... THE LYRICS, the beat, STILL FLOWING SO MANY YRS LATER...ASK YOURSELF HOW MANY OTHER NEW JACK RAPPERS CAN HANG? THATS WHAT I THOUGHT... BUCKTOWN!!!!!!!
