My three favorite Anime are Black Lagoon, Fist of the North Star and Berserk. Otaku is actually a word that used to mean 'Techno geek' and really Otaku just means your a geek about something. It can be Guns, Military machines, anime or anything. But that only goes as far as Japan. In America we use Otaku to mean Anime Fan.
Even though I never said America "Does not do it the right way" Things just translate differently.
