Well Tim, Unless you are familliar with the robot concept named BEAM I surely understand why you have a hard time seeing the coolness of my robot - Unfortunately its a bit to much to try and explain the whole thing here but if you like simple robots just google "BEAM robots" and soon you will know why some people find it cool.
Well... It's just a trembler motor with a rubber pulley from an old casette drive mounted as a flywheel, It has a needel mounted offset where to the wings is attached thus making them flap.
Now that is really cool!!!!! Well played Sir!!
