I applaude your selection (and playing) of this lovely hymn. The first time I heard this hymn played was many years ago when I toured the Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, CO. In the chapel, there was an enormous pipe organ in the rear gallery, and someone was playing this hymn. The sound was so glorious that it immediately brought tears to my eyes. This has been my favorite hymn ever since, and now I try to play it in my church whenever I have the chance.
this is a great job on a great song!!! it was played as the processional at my graduation from high school so i've pretty much been in love with this song since then. once again. great job!!!
Your not the first one to tell me that but it was how my piano teacher taught me how to play it and then I just figured out how to play it on organ and added the pedal part.
Nice work on the hymn. I'm guessing your organ piano teacher may have been Baptist. The Baptist arrangement of God of Our Fathers plays slightly different than the Anglican/Episcopalian version of God of Our Fathers (similar to how the Protestant Doxology is played much faster than the Anglican). The piece's notes are held out longer on the Anglican version. Anyways, keep up the work. We hope to hear more from you. :)
Wow guy this is an amazing music, here in Brasil we play this musics in the church but here the name is "Deus dos antigos" that means something like "God of our olders" I play organ too, in the 2ª Presbyterian church of Rio Claro, São Paulo. Very good sound I will wait your next posts, God bless you!

This type of music should be played on Pipe Organ. The sound is just awsome. Nice 5 stars.
