Aww I know i'm a little late. This is 2 years old now! But I think this is amazing. I have always wanted to have grown up knowing another language. I've been introduced to spanish because there are so many spanish speakers around where I live. But I am in love with different languags. Congradulations Fireese! (A lil late!! Sorry haha)
Thank you so much for making the signing videos! My 6 month old started signing milk this week, i couldn't believe it. I will continue to watch and learn from you wonderful signing videos :oD Happy Mothers Day!
my 5 and a half month old twins have been watching signing time every day since they were 3 months. Me and my husband try our best to sign every word that we know.
so far they do a pretty good efford to sign yes and milk or maybe i think they are hahaha. Hopefully soon they will!
I got the first set of signing time videos for my nieces it's so cute seeing them copy the signs. your baby is so cute I love watching her grow and see how far she came. your a good mom keep it up. I hope 1 day to have my own kids and start them on it as early as I can.
i absolutely love how you teach your daughter sign language, that's my plan for the future. so maybe in 13 years when i have my 1st kid- i can teach them sign language too
Congrats on Fireese being in Signing Time (ST). Our daughter Cayla is now 22 months and we have raised her on ST. Our daughter's development has been similar to Fireese because we spend a lot time like you do exposing her to sign language and speech. She'll often code switch between sign and speech when she doesn't know a word or phrase in one language but in the other. She's now already starting to learn the alphabet! Being a child of deaf parents I grew up learning ASL. How did you learn sign?
I learned ASL in teachers college and fell in love with the language. I continued learning (and am still continuing). I think everyone should learn it!!
I'm not sure when it comes on in the US as I am in Canada but maybe someone who sees this can answer you. Or you can post this question on my facebook group, someone there would know. the link to facebook is in the description of this video.
i know my 2 year old daughters speech therpisit said it is on at 7 am on pbs. my daughter was learing asl cuz she has verbabial aperixia and it helped her learn som words verbabily.
LOL! It is coming out in the Fall sometime I think?! I'm not sure about how secret the new words are, I image they would want to wait until the release time approaches to give hints about the words :-)
You are an inspiration! I started signing more to my kids (2, 1, 5mos) when I watched your first videos. And even though we (husband too) don't know more than 50+ signs we still try to teach our kids. I am so happy for you and Fireese and dad, on your accomplishments and being Signing Time :) Congrats and thanks for being an inspiration!
Thank you for your comment! I always love hearing that people started signing or continued doing it more when they saw Fireese signing! I appreciate you sharing :-)
Very good news! I will see her on signing time soon, yay! By the way laura, how did you come up with the name Fireese? It's very special, does it have any special meanings?
Thank you! We made up the name. It is a combination of Fire and Ice, a ying and yang of two things. We didn't like the spelling Fireice and didn't want to pronounce it 'fire' 'ice'. We wanted to give her 'Reese' in her name so that she could use something that wasn't as unique if she didn't want to. And we wanted the spelling to be phonetic so people could easily pronounce it when they read it. So basically it is a balance of two things :-)
Hello! I am so excited for you guys! I do not have any kids but I hope to one day. I am a special education major and I have seen many kids use sign. They always sign and speak but the signing seems allow them to collect and focus their thoughts. And they are alot less frustrated. I just love this idea!
How exciting for you both! I've loved these videos since my son was born, and now that he's almost six months old, I've started do a couple of signs with him. All of your videos have given me more confidence in my signing abilities (as I myself am learning signs along with this as well!) and I can't wait to see the Signing Time video with Fireese in it! Congrats and keep up the great work!
OOOHHHH That is GOOD NEWS! I am so happy for you and your beautiful ,smart girl! Keep us,your youtube family and fans updated! We love you and we are proud of you Fireese!♥♥♥Kayla and grandmom
aww she is so so cute! And you being a great mom, made me want to sign with my baby! She is confident and it hasn't hindered her at all infact, it has only bettered her! Its amazing to watch! Keep the videos coming!

You'd have to look at your local PBS station and see if it runs.
