MINUSTAH was deployed in Haiti by the permanent voting member of the UN security council to secure the place for neo-liberalism and thwart the movement for participatory democracy spearheaded by Fanmi Lavalas, the largest political party in Haiti.
MINUSTAH real mandate is to contain the vast majority of the Haitian people in poverty and illiteracy thru the bowel of a gun to better exploit them as cheap labor. It is a proxy force for the US, France, Canada.

The woman shown expresses the general opinion that most Haitians have had of the UN peacekeepers since their arrival almost six years ago — they are useless. She was filmed in front of the penitentiary where she had come looking for her son who had been an inmate. The roof of the penitentiary had caved in and a fire swept through directly after the earthquake. No bodies were found inside. She explains that the inmates either escaped or were SHOT by the police as they fled the fire.
