the original resident evil games are still amazing now the camera angles never get blocked you can always see what you are doing, baby excuse for being crap at a game, simple as that.
The controls are annoying, but you get used to them. And there are glitches... but this is a very fun game. I just wouldn't recommend getting the PS2 version, though. It has a lot of the story cut out and the graphics are horrible

why is the inventory and the combinations frustrasting? because you have to think quickly and coordinate in danger situations? and you can change your gun and objects with the rb and lb buttons too, no need for looking in the inventory evey time.
also the melee weapon action works fine you just have to keep the Lt button press.
This game was awesome you just need to use your brain and learn how to coordinate i do recomend it.
it was an awesome game the controllers were good you just need to coordinate also the inventory system was realistic no like the other games where you can stop time.
I didn't expect to be blown away by the graphics, maybe it would have made a difference if I got it for 360 but the graphics are horrendous. I havn't seen so many pixels since playing the legend of the dragoon. Though, at least the leagend of the dragoon had a good story, this game is simply wonky

I don't like the Game because it has the worst Controls since the 90's if not the worst controls I ever encountered in a Videogame! And yes, I have to admit I am no 'pro' in this game. It was down right awfull compared to what I thought it was going to be like. I pre-ordered it for Wii, it was amazing around the first few levels and as the game got further on then it just got worse..:( I looked forward to it so much it but it didnt live up to expectations (although the aiming was much better that the xbox version!)
They also ended the story with out you feeling like you had actually just finished a game, I sat there waiting for the next level. 3/10

Controls and inventory system were ok for me the inventory was very smart also I have no problem when gameplay isn't paused cause this makes players to stay calm and make a plan to use their inventory and items.
This game is still bad but I'm gonna talk about the part that made me send this game back to the gameshelf faster than superman 64, the game had broken physics and the section where I have to kill 30 satan roots then after 3 hours of that I had to another 50 (no joke this is real).

I can't understand why everybody hates this game. I got it yesterday for the PC and I love it. Sure, the controls seem bad at the beginning, but you get used to them. I love the realistic inventory and healing system. Gameplay is great, one moment you're hanging from a ledge 40 storeys high, the other moment you're speeding in a car through New York followed by a earthquake.
I couldn't do the RE controllers and couldn't do this as well. I love the game but the frustration of the game gives me restless leg syndrome and I get vomittie.......
Um does this guy realise theres a quick select and fav combinations. Plus looking through your jacket while real time is intense. It's like "oh shit oh shit c'mon c'mon". Controls arent wonky.

I dont understand why people complain about the controls so damn much.
I have beaten this game 2 times and i never even think about the controls.
This game does NOT control like thev old resident evil games at all.
This is one of the best games i have played in a long time and it does not deserve all the damn complainin g it gets over the controls.
I never have any problems controling my character at least and only think about the controls when people complain about it in reviews.

I just bought a Wii and Alone in the Dark so that I could enjoy a scary game while y gf has the colorful cartoonish Wii games.
The controls for Alone in the Dark are fucktarded and terribly annoying. Set aside from that the story and graphics are impressive.
Also, for this review, the narrator sounds like the geco from geico car insurance.

Controls and inventory system were ok for me the inventory was very smart also I have no problem when gameplay isn't paused cause this makes players to stay calm and make a plan to use their inventory and items.
This game is still bad but I'm gonna talk about the part that made me send this game back to the gameshelf faster than superman 64, the game had broken physics and the section where I have to kill 30 satan roots then after 3 hours of that I had to another 50 (no joke this is real).

this is a heavily unfair review, i've heard too many "annoying/frustrating" adjectives while commenting some game mechanic choices that i personally find, for example, amazing. This review rate is therefore influenced by the personal taste, and it fails 'cause in such jobs people should be as much neutral/objective as possible.

Controles is something you have to review and you cant say that his personal taste make him rate the controls bad. Theres 1 correct way and I'm pretty sure hes holding it right. If you make a stupid inventory system and have people switching between third persion and first person so much its annoying you deserve a bad rating.

No, Nochtresis is right. You have to review but keeping for yourself the opinions and let people judge on their own without getting influenced by bad adjectives. I like the inventory in real time and how it looks, make it more realistic and i never got problems with controls.

reviews can be as negative or positive as the reviewer wants them to be. buying a game from a neutral standpoint is silly. getting a mixture or positive and negative reviews is a better insight.

lol I was watching the ps3 reviews of Gameweasel, and found this game in there.. but the funny thing is while he is bashing a little the game.. i have noticed that it was the xbox version.. wich is totally crap.. but why is it in the ps3 reviews? and why didn't you play the ps3 version.. wich has ALOT of better improvements?

We'll mention all formats of a game and try to include a mixture of different versions throughout the review. If it's a game rolled out between consoles and handhelds we'll usually include gameplay footage of the higher resolution console versions and occasionally state which platform the game performs best on. I can't understand why everybody hates this game. I got it yesterday for the PC and I love it. Sure, the controls seem bad at the beginning, but you get used to them. I love the realistic inventory and healing system. Gameplay is great, one moment you're hanging from a ledge 40 storeys high, the other moment you're speeding in a car through New York followed by a earthquake.

This game has to be the most technically challenged game iv ever played.
It freezes more than a scratched ps2 game and im at this 1 part where i continuously fall through the floor of the world and then proceeds to freeze.
its an even worse game than Jericho

I think that they way you have to switch to third person and first person is annoying plus the camera in third person is quite limited.
