says 4 but you can make it recognize 6 just like the mbp of said year 08
anyone who uses a mac lappy can tell you 2 is too little even for running a few browsers with flash or java. and by the way... why are you using a macbook if your a mega geek, look a performance per watt per $ ratings BEFORE you walk out the door next time nubcakes
I think in his video he said that he used a lot of applications that use up RAM in programs like iMovie and stuff, and Office 2008 also uses a LOT of memory off. I'm just guessing this, but if he used up most of his memory, then most likely the GPU wouldn't function right at that point.I don't really remember if he said that it was at that point or just any time. He did mention in one of his videos that he doesn't turn off his MacBook for long periods of time.
It shouldn't make a difference. OS X has 'wired' RAM which is RAM allocated from the beginning for the VRAM, I/O devices, kernel and low-level processes, etc. 2 GB should be more than enough so really I don't see why he was having those sorts of issues. If upgrading to 4 GB helped him out then good for him. I wish him well. Peace.
I don't think the black ones are available anymore, you might be able to get one at a computer shop that has some left, but Apple have stopped selling the black one online and at the Apple Store and only have the white one.
One way to find out is to look at the amount of L2 Cache (in Hardware Overview) right when you open System Profiler. If you have either 3 MB or 6 MB of L2 cache, you have a Penryn processor.
Very, very detailed. I feel like I can take a macbook apart and put it back together again. Just kidding. Nice videos. FS 2002? I mean I use 2004 and thats kinda old but 2002 is 6 years old. On to part 2!

How exactly did you get them to give you a new one?
jacqueslaurent 3 years ago
if you bring in any Mac more than three times for repairs, you then qualify to get a new replacement one for free!

So how much does this cost?

Would you still recommend the black macbook now that the new ones came out?

Gah, you have the white one. I'm in the market for a black one, was what I meant to say, but I'm not sure which I should get

There's an apple reseller near me that has some in stock, and they're also being sold online for a reduced price.

I'd say go with 4 gigs of RAM for everyone. Its down to about $80 now, and sure can't hurt to have it.
