This is one of the songs edited out of the official release "One For The Road" video, Providence, RI 6/23/79. I got a crappy copy of the uncut show from some guy in Japan a few years ago. The unedited footage was 1HR36MN I don't know how or when it was originally leaked. I'm guessing the original master footage of this show are lost, because the official dvd is actually just a rip of the VHS tape.
Davis' writing hit a real stride in the late 70's dealing with social issues & examining life as it affects us all, a real transition of 60's rock band.Under appreciated as is Ten Years After & Savoy Brown, though Ray's writing chops are poetry.
The Kinks have been so under appreciated in the annals for Rock! They have sustained since the British invasion and are responsible for some of the greatest tunes and most awesome rifs in the history of music! Long live The Kinks! God bless Ray and Dave!
@333SaintMichael The Kinks are up there with the Who, Stones etc . But like PInk Floyd they will become more appreciated with time. Hang in there the youth will discover them in time ,thanks to Youtube.
Maybe Ray's changeable mind, or the Baptist got tired of dealing with the brothers. I love the Kinks but they must have been hard on their sidemen when it came to dealing with Ray & Dave's discord
Looks like Low Budget tour to me. They played this that year and during the One For The Road Tour the nex year in 1980. Great song by the greatest song writer evaaaaah.
This song rates really high on my list of favorite Kink's songs.
