  • 1963 logo with 1937 fanfare?!

  • This appeared before an airing of The Phantom of the Opera (1943) on TCM years ago

  • This fanfare was composed by Jimmy McHugh.

  • this is the theme that used for universal pay television in 1982.

  • You're right timetravelhyman88.

  • AWESOME!

  • I saw this intro and fanfare on AMC when they showd the 1943 version of The Pahntom Of The Opera

  • This used to play on pay cable channels with the words "Pay Television" under the Universal name.

@51512601:"Willow",released in the US by MGM,was never part of the MCA/Universal catalog. Could you be thinking of "Legend"?

  • The 1988 film "Willow" used this same intro.

  • Really?!

  • @ShaDeed329 Yes, I remember when it premiered on cable ( I think Showtime around '89 or '90), it was this music with the Universal logo. I don't know any other film though that used it.

  • Wow, I didn't know that!

  • I like it!

  • This music sounds so much like the Superman theme to me.

  • @burger414 Same here, the first 8 seconds of it anyway sounds like John William's Superman theme

  • great find!
