You're absolutely right. I believe these flights were to celebrate Grabaseat's 5th anniversary. It was originally going to be just one but they sold so many they started reservations for the second. Grabaseat is a "budget" subsidiary of AirNZ.
That was only a one time those flights. Air NZ had something on and decided to fly 2 747's to Vegas. I remember reading that on their website if you want to know the full story.
haha I absolutely should have stood on those people's truck with them.
