I use to not like ginger and now crave it - reduce or remove the ginger if need be the first time you make it - you can always add in a little bit each time and see how you do.
Thank you, Jane for sharing Lori's recipe. The almond milk and this smoothie are the first things I've made in my Vita-Mix, and both are delicious. Unfortunately, my NOG hasn't thickened up like yours, but maybe it needs another day since I used regular water instead of coconut water. Anyway, I appreciate your taking the time to share your knowledge.
You're welcome! BTW: every batch of NOG I make seems to be different. I think it's due to the dates, their variety, moisture, softness, time soaking, stirring, etc. So don't fret if it doesn't look exactly like one of my batches. The VitaMix whips them all up the same. Keep me posted.
Thank you for having this video.I enjoyed it tremedously. The hemp seed milk is just good for you and i have been hearing a lot about tumeric.I went to South America in March and some villagers made me a medicine that i took for 5 days that put my arthritis and fibromyalgia at bay.IT hasn't returned as of yet anyway. They made it with marijuana and i didn't get high from the use of it and honestly i really do thing this treatment is known here in the states but only a select few use it.
Hi there, I have a question for you. Those sealable jars you are drinking from, do you store a batch away in the fridge or are you simply using it as a drinking cup. I am told that smoothies should be drank immediately if possible due to the oxidation of the fruit/vegetable and it's recommended not to store.
@blenditandMendit Ok, thanks for clarifying that. Are there any blends that can be safely stored away in the fridge or freezer for later use? How about making your own cranberry vinaigrette salad dressing for example? Love your vids btw !
I think it is awesome that you answered this post!!
I bought some organic tumeric, and have not used it yet. This will be great! I have stopped all my medication I was on for inflammation, and eat 90% raw foods now. The smoothies are such a wonderful way to get all your nutrition, aren't they??
I am glad to hear it. Please keep me posted on how greens and fresh foods help you. I know there are many who would like to get progress reports as arthritis affects a lot of people.
I ordered them from strawsbycarli on etsy - but i didn't get the skinny brush for cleaning them and wish I had, so I use a pipe cleaner :)
also, they have bamboo holders but they were too pricey so I made my own - i love using glass straws, it changes the entire smoothie sipping experience for the better - elegant and calm.
This looks good. I was thinking about adding turmeric to my smoothies, too. Thanks to Laurie.
I made the grape smoothie with dandelion and replaced the kale with romaine because that is what I had in the fridge. It was absolutely delicious. I only tasted the dandelion at the very last part of a sip. I honestly never thought of blending grapes.
I'm so glad you used what you had on hand and came up with a delish smoothie - speaking of grapes, in the summer when they are in season or on sale I buy a lot and freeze them and they make the best sorbets and frosty smoothies.
I'm so glad you like this - Lori is concocting others for arthritis and when she does, I'll make them. I'll ask her if she can make them for other conditions, too.
Can you taste the ginger at all? I want to try this but ginger is a bit spicy for me.

Right you are about green smoothies - fresh is best. I use the jars as drinking glasses.

@blenditandMendit I've been working on getting rid of oste. arthritis in my hands.
Nuts seem to make the pain worse so it almond milk a good idea?
Liendelou 2 months ago
@Liendelou
I'm not a doctor, so I can't comment on that. But if nuts made my arthritis worse then I would eliminate the almond milk and use water instead.
