Does anyone know if there is an electronic analogue hand control system (for a Paraplegic) , similar to gear flappy paddles ? brake on one side , accelerator on the other . ?
I lost my leg in a motorcycle accident, the doctors told me I would never ride a motorcycle again or drive stick shift. Watch my video to see what I did ; )
My mother became a quad in 1972. severed her cord between c-4 and c-5 but she still had basic arm movement. She would have loved this! To have that kind of independence is so very important!
Great movie showing an excellent solution! I have added a video response showing the Carosafe wheelchair tie down system to show how one can make sure to drive safely from a power wheelchair with a crashtested tie down system.
How bad is your CP? I'm recently started this whole driving thing, AND I HOPE I CAN! I mean, it mildly affects my left hand, and legs (a lot), but since you're using your left hand to control, and my lefft hand is not as strong as my right, I'm kinda nervous. It costs a lot too, and yeah, I hope I can drive!

These systems use the same technology that is in evry airplane. So, perhaps you should never fly then.
