  • SOLAR Food for thought:

    1. Solar is said to be a net zero pollution gain because it takes as much pollution to make the panels as they offset over their 20 yr lifespan.

    2. It is also said that it takes 10 years to just break even on your investment.

Those are important considerations & yes, I do appreciate anything that will truly make our world cleaner but we must always count the true cost & unforeseen things that will bite us in the end.

  • Good point. What other solutions can you think of?

  • Something that would also capture the kids attention. Humm, an alcohol still to make alcohol for only 35 cents per gal (after the Feds rebate you 65 cents per gal) to run a car and burn 98% cleaner than oil based fuels, run a generator, cook with, heat the school with, and use in lamps for light. Corn only makes 350 gal per acre but Cattails can make 7,000 gal per acre and is a natural way to clean sewage too. The waste produces can be sold as feed for animals. Make clean water & med oils too

  • OOPS: The (so called) "waste PRODUCTS" can be sold as animal feed. You can desalinate sea water (and use the salt left behind for all sorts of things) and make oils used in everything from medicine to soap. WOW, and you can also teach them about taking waste products like rotting fruit, garbage etc and recycling it into alcohol. Hummm, oh, and they can learn how to make alcohol for medical uses as well as for drinking too. That should hold the kids attention for years once they sober up :-)

  • You make some very good points. However, with all the tax incentives & rebates currently available, residential Solar owners can expect a Return-On-Investment ~ 7 years & thereafter, they save $1000s annually. The ROI will be lower to 6 & 5 years as more efficient products come to market. Eshone Energy concentrates on public & commercial properties & with schools especially, they can expect to see a savings in Year 1. They can even install Solar in their schools without using any school $.

  • While no energy system is perfect, Eshone Energy strives to use the most up-to-date materials available. We recognize that each component has inefficiencies, that energy is needed to create the products we use & that some pollution is given off in the production of these items. As new materials are manufactured, we evaluate their capabilities & use those items that provide the best performance results. Just like you, we are trying to make the earth a greener & cleaner place to live.
