MSC Fantasia con problemas por el viento en Palma

I would have been screaming my head off, if it had happened to me. That water is COLD..and it isn't as if it's only a few feet, that's a long drop.

My family and I were on the maiden voyage of the Fantasia. Beautiful ship.

I'm suppose to be going on this cruise ship in February...

what was the big accident, I don't understand.

Basically what happened was that while the MSC Fantasia was docked in the Port of Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain) there was a very severe storm and the bow lines holding the ship in place violently snapped because of the wind.

And as the ship was drifting away from the dock the passageway where the passengers get on and off crippled and fell into the sea below.

There was sadly still a 83 year old man inside.

But 3 crew members jumped in to save him and they all lived

@PONYRicky il titanic era una NAVE , ed era abbastanza grande quasi quanto la MSC Fantasia... e le navi nuove e molto difficile che affondino nel modo in cui ha fatto il TITANIC....a sua differenza(del titanic) si inclinerebbero su un lato per poi rovesciarsi in mare e puntarsi....cerca "sea diamond sinking"

in quel momento io ero sulla nave al ponte 9 e ho visto tuttoè stata una scena scioccante spero non si ripeta mai +!

esatto!!! io ero al 15 fuori sopra le piscine... ma c'era molto vento fuori...

io ero alla liquid disco al 16 piano e ho visto la scena con i miei occhi, e vi assicuro che nn è stata una bella cosa, sembrava che la nave fosse in balia del vento e nn ci fosse alcun controllo,la nave avrebbe sbattuto contro il molo dall'altro lato se nn fossero arrivati in tempo i rimorchiatori

En este tipo de barcos deberia de ser obligatorio el uso de remolcadores ,son muchas personas a bordo y hasta que no haya un desatre no se van a tomar medidas

This was no wrong doing by MSC Fantasia. the new boulders give away by the storm and pressure of the ship. The boulders where not installed the proper way said Palma de Mallorca port authority. So the blame is on the Palma de Mallorca port authority.
