I had never heard it before either, but I knew it was a standard before Nino and April. I checked Wikipedia and saw that Bing Crosby was one of the first to record it with a big band. Being a fan of Bing Crosby, I had to find it, especially since he recorded it during the big band era.

I have been searching for this version for years. I have wound up with a strong dislike for the band, Deep Purple because of this. Thank you for posting this. It is wonderful proof that, yes people, he did sing more than just Christmas songs!

@WhitePhoenixUS i have to say that i don't recall ever hearing this version. bea wain's yes. close call, but i'll take bing's by a whisker. by the way, malneck's orch. can be seen in "east side of heaven" w/bing. milton delugg can be recognized playing the accordion.
