@fmboleka I'm sorry, unfortunately I do not have the mp3 to this any more. However, you can go to google and type "youtube to mp3" and then paste the link to this page there and it'll make the video into an mp3 for you. Problem solved! Have a wonderful day :)
This really brings me home. My family goes to the St. Olaf Christmas concert every year. I moved out this year but when I close my eyes and listen, I feel like I'm home again.
I love how tender this interpretation is; the music itself seems to breathe with a life of its own--fluttering, sighing--beautiful and vulnerable. It makes the text stand out as a humble, sincere proclamation of love and faith.
Did this with the local Male Choir....it was so powerful and beautiful, and i LOVE that last phrase that Tenor 1's get to sing, it's my favorite ending to a song ever!
Yes. Yes Yessssss!!!! I love the St. Olaf interpretation of this song. There are those who will attempt to scorn this, but it is the original, and in this case, the original composer/arranger did it best. Anyone (or any choir for that matter), can shout the words at unheard of tempos, but not many can give a performance that speaks to the soul as this School does!!

i wish the soloist would use some vibrato...she would be more in the tonal center of the pitch.

@mezzosinger100 "... some vibrato" ??? She used a very nice vibrato ... I think any more would be very distracting.

When the choir comes in at 2:30 it is just so amazing. It fills me with warmth and love. I can't help but close my eyes and bask in the glow.

@Fantasyworld79 No kidding. This is my favorite hymn of all time. I feel comfort when I hear this song playing in my church.
