@vawlkee51 well my guess is, as the ship was adrift in the storm and taking on water, it had lost all power and the crew abandonned ship leaving the animals to thier fate, that is why there is no sign of the crew, the ship finally sunk when it ran aground in one entance to one of the "Bays" on the floating island and sank there in the shallow lagoon.
I can believe that a polar bear runs an island, that a meteor thing brought two mammoths back to life, that you get bears in Wales and orangutans in Scotland, but they're taking it a bit too far when Noah says that kangaroos and gorillas could live on the island, and there's some in a boat right outside. Far too coincidental, it makes me doubt the whole series :P
@Beccykinz Kangaroo Died!!! you must have been watching a different cartoon.... Woomera never died and makes it through to the final epiosde of series 3, though she dows get a bit upset when the Dolphins die in "Woomera runs away"
@Toontrain I remember Woomera almost died, they were about to bury her as well, until clever little Sasha showed them she was just unconcious....that episode freaked me out because she was my fave character.
I think its a stab in the dark here but could this have any influence on lost. You know, a tropical island with the ability to move through extraordinary means inhabited by a polar bear? Just a thought.
@umairrrr OK the quality ain't great but their is a reason for that, first the VCR I used to record the show was clapped out and had worn out record head (note the hissy audio) and when I encode my vids I only do it in 320x240 format so as to keep the file size down, I don't do vids in HD as I ain't got the right kit to do it
Nope? they did release some of the episodes from the first series on VHS video back in the day, but this series has never been re-issued on DVD to the knowlage... thats the reason why I've posted it up on youtube for you all to enjoy :)
@Darthnelson you mean Salomi? yeah I never realised what a bi*ch she really was until now...poor Mammothsbody, I felt sorry for him, no wonder he sucked his trunk :|
I dunno really but Telemagination the english Animation studio who made this show liked to use regional UK accents for their characters as they did when they made the Animals Of Farthingwood before.
I'm happy to say its not you ;) the reason that Noah sounds like Badger from The Animals of Farthingwood, its because the characters are voiced by the same person, Ron Moody he who played Fagin in the Hollywood movie of Oliver Twist.
I understand english too, but it's so much easier to understand. I gotta hear the english sentences several times if im gonna understand it fully. or maybe you have some subs? (sublines?)
Well I just post the shows up as they come, I only have the english version of this show even though it was shown all over europe & beyond, I cannot speak Norwegian so could not add subtitles to it unfortunatly, sorry :(
De skulle virkelig had den i Norsk! No offence til dem altså, men den Norske var myyyyye bedre. Husker enda hvor bra de diverse stemmene passet til dyrene, spessielt Noa! :D Haha, gode tider. Gode tider!
I think some subtitles in English would be a good idea as well. Some of those accents (like the panda (mainly because it's a BADDDDD Chinese accent)) are hard to understand.
I mean, why are all the cartoons/shows so crap now? they're all meant to be"Funny" but to be honest.. they just make me cringe all the time, not laugh
Wow.. so much nostalgia.. i loved this show when i was younger and still do. It's the only good kids tv show. This actually had meaning to it unlike most of the stuff they showed =]
Well it was a combined UK & European effort, made by a Animation studio in the UK (Tellemagination) and another in Europe, it was all done for the European Broadcasting union (EBU) and was dubbed into many different languages and show all over europe and in America too.
ah man this show was awesome! why cant kids today have great shows like we did? i remeber there being a orangatang or sumthing in the fireball room who was in charge of it. am i right? and he had a scottish accent? i rememer it cos it reminds me of startrek
How many of the voice actors in this were in The Animals of Farthing Wood? I'm sure Badger and Noah are the same person... and Weasel and Woomera (is that the kangeroo's name?).
You are correct TSRULE most of the voice actors from The Animals of Farthingwood are the same, Ron Moody is the voice for Noah & Badger not to mention many others as well, andd Sally Grace did the voices for Woomera & Weasel and again did other voices too.
As far as I know its NOT coming out on DVD any time soon if at all, I recordeded the show off CBBC in the mid 90's when the show first aired, and like it so much that I'm sharing it with the youtube viewers mainly because you can't get this show on DVD...
thanks dude! great to be able to watch these cartoons!

One wonders - as I have for ages, what happens to the unseen human crew of that foundering ship.

They leave it up in the air as they did anything dealing with humans. You'd hear them but, as a rule never see them, which is fine with me!

Just so you know, the female mammoth's name is spelt 'Salomi', not 'Cylomy'.
Inkyminkyzizwoz 10 months ago
@Inkyminkyzizwoz I don't think it makes much difference which way it is spelt, as its pronounced the same way.
Toontrain 10 months ago
@Toontrain That is the correct spelling - look it up!
Anyway, there are plenty of words that sound the same but have completely different meanings!
