  • Jerry may have been the heart and soul of the band, but layne was the heart and soul of the music.

  • I wish I could say Jerry was the heart and soul of AIC...maybe I wouldn't have mourned the end so much...but without Layne it just doesn't work for me. And I am a DIE HARD STP and AIC fan.....and the new guy in AIC is pretty good. He sounds enough like Layne and Jerry's got great chops, great lyrics...but he can't pull the soul out of a song like Layne could. Just my opinion.

  • i'm a big fan of stone temple pilots and Alice and Chains so when i saw this video i almost died. the only question i have is that in every got me wrong video i have ever seen Jerry Cantrell isn't playing the solo. He like wrote the song.

  • I like the AIC unplugged version the best, but this version is crazy when I'm trippin

  • I´m a big fan of aic and stp and i just want to say thats incredible haw aic songs sounds so different in the hands of stp it sounds like if it was an stp song!!!! both bands are amazing i really respect them!!!

  • jerry sounds like an angel...there should be a jerry cantrell day on the calendar!

  • Lane is gone.... but this is a touching tribute to a talented musican

  • BTW I meant to type posted, not posed. Just thought i'd correct that b4 the inbred retards lamb basted me for a minor typo.

  • I AM THE BIGGEST LIVING AIC FAN ON THE TUBE! Just check out their vids, iv'e posed all over them. That being said, I worship Layne and his music, grew up in the early to mid ninties and his songs were the soundtrack to my high school years. I also love STP, and Scott Weiland did a really awesome job on this tune. A lot better than Amy Lee did with Soundgarden's 4th of July, but in her defense, Chris Cornell has a voice thats hard to imitate, much less duplicate. RIP Layne

  • Kick ass!

  • you can't compare harmony between Weiland and Jerry, I love Layne, don't get mee wrong (pun not intended) but Scott did fairly well with this.... What made AIC was the harmony between Jerry and Layne. End of story. (and yes, I do love Weiland)

  • Kind of surprised Weiland didn't even try to sing Layne's high parts. He doesn't have to BE Layne Staley, but a singer of his caliber should be able to hit those high notes.

  • Definitely the voice of Layne is missing in this song! I like this version too, but the one in the unplugged show has no comparison. Layne and Jerry together are the best!

  • I like it. Not as much as the original, though. It's more haunting, almost dissonant.

  • Entirely different moods to the music. Almost makes them two different songs. Love the button on the end.

  • 3:10-3:24 hell yes

  • I don't care how good someone's voice may be (which STP's singer fails these harmonies horribly), it is ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE to show up on stage HOLDING THE LYRICS.

If you don't know the song, you shouldn't even be on the stage trying to do it.

  • Jerry Cantrell was the heart and soul of Alice In Chains. Layne Staley (RIP) was the voice, but Jerry was the real force that gave the band its power.

  • yeah

  • finally someone else knows!

  • @evildaveprime yeah jerry cantrell was the genious that created the music

  • @evildaveprime wrong

  • @evildaveprime Not really

  • @evildaveprime Laynes voice, persona, and lyrical ability (which is far superior to cantrells)

    Is what made AIC

  • @Wesson4 i totally agree with you

  • jerry and layne hamonizing...nothing like it!! but i like this~

  • Weiland's awesome and you can't even spell pathetic.

  • Are you guys crazy??? Jerry has a beautiful voice! Jerry and Layne complimented each other so much that you are just used to hearing the voices together. His voice sounds just as good live as it does recorded and is a very nice humble person, as well.

  • q increible x Dios!!! alice sigue vivo grax a vs jerry! grande!!

  • i love both jerry and stone temple pilots, awnesome!!

  • jerry should sing lead now i think in alice in chains...

  • nah, he should focus his energy on his guitar

  • i agree. jerry's voice is not anywhere what layne's was...but I do recall seeing a video within the last year of some concert with the AIC and a very, very good vocalist. hope to hear more of them

  • Jerry may not have as good a voice as Layne but he still does have good voice. You may say he is to Layne as Dave is to Kurt?

  • adoro esse vídeo!
