  • your supposed to taste the beer...so that you can sell it

  • This is another of my favourites from Grandaddy!

  • One of Grandaddy's best

  • The interception by the last one was absolute professionalism.

  • can someone explain the lyrics?

  • @movoning I think its about tasters like kings and queens and important people used to have to taste their food first to make sure it wasn't poisoned.

  • @movoning Yes, that's it - it's about someone checking that the king's food isn't poisoned by eating some of it first, which is a brave thing to do, and it's poignant because he's lying there, presumably dying because the food was poisoned, but he's apologising for it! No, he's the automatic saint! And, we learn this way! Someone has to try whatever it is first! Just a poignant little song really, but I bet it resonated with something in Jason Lytle's own life - unless he chimes in himself!

  • @nortonius

  • Grandaddy was really underrated I think

  • @SquirrelsforLunch Yeah, and unfortunately Lytle's Grandaddy tunes are still underrated.

Tell him its OK, we learn this day."
