My mom passed away on June 2nd. Her wish was to have her ashes scattered at sea so that she would make the trip back from the US to her birthplace, Scotland. We will be doing that tomorrow, Saturday. I was raised listening to the pipes and drums, and it was so much a part of our house, of her life, that it's only fitting that the pipes see her on her journey. Maybe one day I'll make the trip home as well.

@skyegirl3x My Mum died in my arms while living down South..It was her dying wish to die in Scotland, but everything happened so fast that by the time we found out she only had a few weeks left, we couldn't move her...but I know she put her trust in me when I told her, we will be in Scotland..I now live on 'The Isle of Skye' with my mums ashes in my bedroom...you may find this part odd, but we're as close as we we're before...this gift runs through our family. No seeing still there!!

My dog died today, I had to take him into the room where the vet put him down it was the sadest thing to see my bestfriend slowly shut his eyes and lay back his head the poor thing died in my arms. this song will always remind me that it was time to say good bye and put him out of his misery as for he had a skin condition that couldnt be treated, so ever time this is on my dog will always be in my mind, im scottish and so was my dog but as long as this song plays he will not be forgotten

Another great tune from the Scots Dgs Pipes @ Drums as i listen i remember the with great pride i have to have marched behind such a fine body of men , many a parade we have done over the years , now as an Auld comrade i think of these great men , for today they prepare to embark on a role and tour of duty in the coming months , this tune @ clip is well presented as many a soldier before me has always rememberd Scotland my home when serving many many miles form its shores ..

I was in England briefly, less than a week in the early 1970's...

Never made it to Scotland OR Ireland...

which are the 2 places of 1/2 my heritage (other 1/2 German/Dutch).

I am yearning to go to both Scotland and Ireland in the next few years...

I had noticed this video before, but as I didn't recognize the name of the tune, I didn't watch it. Big mistake!!

As I listened, I thought that this would be a fabulous piece for the Lone Piper at one of the many Ramp Ceremonies leaving Afghanistan and Iraq.

I went to Glen Coe,and as I stood with those magnificent mountains surrounding me, it was awesome, I felt they were giving me strength to carry on. travelled trough this beatiful country with a car all around already a few times starting in Edinburgh and going trough Glasgow,Fort William, Ullapool , trough Sutherlands all way by the coasts to John O Groats and down to Inverness and back to Edinburgh, also of course Aberdeen , been everywhere :) love it
