  • Gearing ??please

  • well if you are after perfect handling and stuff then go for the rustler..i think the rustler has a wheelie bar too..the vxl one..i got the stampede because i liked its ground clearance and styling..cheers

  • i cant decide if i want the rusty or stampede for christmas rusty= good handeling awesome looks and fast no wheelie bar

stampede=not as good handeling comes a wheelie bar smae price with better things

  • stampede has more upgrades and possibilities...also not as enclosed as a rustler so easier to work on...you can even make a trailer or something to put on the back of a stampede because the stampede has more torque out of the box.

  • i think i like the rusty better 2 me its a lot faster and better

  • I hear it flips over alot more than the rustler because its so tall. Is this true I'm debating if I should get the Stampede vxl or the rustler vxl. I like the stampede because it comes with good tires and a wheelie bar.

  • well the height might be an issue compared to the rustler..i am not very sure about that one actually..but this stampede is good for jumps..and about flipping you can control that with some experience..

  • any body know why my new stock stampede VXL wont pop a wheel even with an 8 cell 4200mah battery set on 100% on the speed control and its top speed is only 37mph gps test any insight would be helpful thanks

  • well looks like your slipper clutch is to loose..you will need to adjust that to about a quarter adjustment from full tight..try that but dont tighten the clutch to much..with the speed i think thats what a 8 cell nimh would give out..you need more go for lipo..

  • thanks bro she jumps like a girl on prom-night lol the slipper was about 2 1/4 turns from full closed, way to loose from the fatory is what my hobby store told me

  • tighter the slipper, more wheelie producing power. also, i believe torque creates acceleration which leads to wheelies?

  • lipo or ni-MH?

  • ni-mh 7.2V

  • i have a stampede vxl with a 9cell nimh 10.8v 4700 maxamps $98

  • thats cool..i have to get one of those batteries too..is it possible to charge the 9cell nimh with a charger which is designed to charge a 7cell nimh?

  • im not sure that the 7 cell charger could handle it if the charging amps are different... its likely to blow a fuse if your charger has one or completely burn up the charger

  • get a RCdemon battery 9 cell 4500 mah 10.8V for $92

  • try taking out all the spacers for the shocks it wont flip over

  • tks for the tip..will chk that out...

  • It's crazy, I talked to you a month ago. I have my Stampede vxl now. I listened to you and got a 7.2 volt 4200mah battery with it. It does run about 20 minutes or longer like you said too. Now I'm running a 8.4 volt Ener-G 4600mah battery. It makes the Stampede quite a bit faster.

  • i'm gonna make a 9 cell 4500 mah 10.8V pack and throw it in my rustler vxl. i'll post a vid. of it after i get the battery parts and build my custom battery

  • How long does the battery last for you?

  • i am using a 6 cell 7.2V 4200mah battery and it runs abt 20 minutes..sometimes around 30min.

  • oh ok, thats really good. I'm getting a battery with the same specs that you have. I ordered my Stampede vxl yesterday and can't wait for it to come in.

  • well just letting you know i had to buy a seperate high current connector adapter to connect my 7.2V batt to traxxas cos it is designed to connect to high power lipos..this connector is a part from traxxas which diddnt come in the box for me..so u might need that if u are going for a batt like mine..

  • I like just figured that out yesterday AFTER I ordered my stuff... So now I'm gonna have to either drive 45 minutes to a hobby shop or buy them online. I know what they are n' all that. You had to buy the female part and solder it right?

  • ya had to do that..

  • ok, that's exactly what I'm gonna do too.

  • Instead of a converter u should just solder or buy high current connector supplied 6 cell packs, otherwise u lose current.

  • now im a bit not sure...cos the hobby store guys actually built the connector while i was there for me..

  • as long as there is no tamiya style plug used for the converter, those plugs cant flow the amount of current that the traxxas plug can, ya Pede looks like it goes well to me though!

Cant wait to get my VXL in 2 weeks :)

  • when i go back from my holidays i got to check that connector again...at the moment im only using 6 cell..will go for higher once i get better practise on this..this truck runs pretty fast even with a 6 cell...in 2 weeks u will be pushing that VXL huh.. :)

  • Hell yeah! I am starting to ask myself if i would rather an e-savage or e-maxx, as they are similar price and have 4wd and nice plush suspension, still tipping toward VXL though!

  • well 4WD is good...but what appeals me in this one is the speed...it can show something to most of the nitro ones and just being electric..

  • True, and the air time!!

With 11 volts it smokes all Nitro trucks!

  • get the vxl

  • get the vxl

  • Got it! Fuckin loving it!! I have a 7.4v li-po and it wheel stands even near top speed.

  • That looks like australia, the houses and gardens ???

    Nice vid.

  • ha..ya its perth..good guess!
