  • lol not so bad.. you sound more kiwi though

  • I'd give you a 7-8/10 cos your doing a pretty darn good job. still sounds a bit like a kiwi but more like a kiwi that's move to aus and been here for ages. fun fact that may or may not help you improve it is that the aussie accent is one if not the only accent that is retained when talking without opening your teeth and only moving your lips.

  • @Stratosphere545 holy crap. That helps SOOOOOO much. Thank you. :)

  • glottal stops will also help

  • When trying to do an aussie accent try to drag ur vowels out or change them most of the time

  • The accent sounds like someone from another country who lives in Australia. Since that is a very common situation, if you spoke like this in Australia, many people would not comment on it or think much of it - but they would know you were from somewhere else. It really is a good Australian accent, it does has a few hints that sound like a New Zealand accent (like when you say accent as 'excent') but overall pretty good. [I'm Australian]

  • you sound like you a new zealander

  • Hahah you were so cute when you said you were trying not to offend anyone! I'm an Aussie and I swear to god I love that you actually say Aussie correctly!!

  • cool close! but uve got it mixed with the kiwi accent a bit

  • I admire your dedication, man! that's just...really awesome that you used the accent for so long.

That really is true about the more you do it, is the more genuine it'd sound.

I really enjoy learning other accents, because it's almost like learning another language, and for some reason, it's probably even harder sometimes... and the fact that you wanted to be able to use it so much that you really buckled down and kept practicing is awesome. I think it sounds great. Good for you!

  • wow, you've improved HEAPS !!!! i'm aussie, and you're sounding less kiwi now - your australian accent is HEAPS better than half the american/british/other actors on tv !! well done ! =D

  • Im aussie, your real good :) if anyone criticizes you dont worry aye :)

  • Youtube this! 'Kiwis vs Aussies 2: Revenge of the Zeal' it will help compare :)

  • oh and slurring works cause we're almost always plastered ;)

  • You need to watch your i's, Kiwi's turn them into u's like chips into chups and e's in the end of words like effect becomes effuct. the end of our sentences have a slight raise in tone in comparison to the rest of the sentence (monotone). unbeatable is a good example: unbeatable - unnbeetahble or unbelievable - unbahleevahble ( hopefully you can apply that to other similar words) oh and if you wanna get your bogan on just say the days of the week except change the day to dee (like croc dundee)

  • I agree with the other Australians that say you sound more like a New Zealander, You need to mumble your words more.

  • 7/10, you've fixed some of your words

  • Is it hard to switch from Aussie accent to American?

does one or the other just take over haha

Your last video did sound Kiwi, but this one you actually sounded Australian :P Good job :D

  • @PurrDye at first it was hard but after a while it got really easy to do. i can deliberately choose which accent i would like to use, and it just flows of the tip of my tongue without me having to think to much about it

  • as i live in australia but from new zealand, i think you sound more like a new zealander....

  • not tryin to be rude but are you gay??

  • As an Australian, you sound more like a New Zealander.. but still, you did a great job.

  • good job elijah.

  • Awl riggg-ht.

    Ya accents improvin.

  • solid bogan accent

  • Your beached ez

  • pretty good, except some of the longer words you say like 'perfect' and 'company' still sound more kiwi.

  • 10

  • 10

  • very gud gold star.

  • try and say accent like (acksent) this is more aussie as kiwis say it like (ecksent) wish is closer to american... im an aussie n ur accent was pretty good :):):)

  • just wanted to thank everyone for there support and comments <3

  • Best effort from an American since Meryl in that dingo movie .....I rate you an 8 ! The Kiwi accent was once nearly identical to Aussie but in the last couple of decades the differences are getting stronger. Vowels, for example, are barely pronounced at all ! The word FISH sounds like FuSH and there is a strange upward inflection on a word like MEN .........MEEEN ! Dare i say i suspect that it is the working class accent that is taking over in NZ.

  • @iainr222 thank you for the support and tips

  • you have got alot better!! well done! im aussie and you are good but its still more kiwi! i want to learn your accent!!

  • @zenophia thank you =)

  • out of 10, i give you an 8.

im australian, SO you attempt is pretty dam good, but theres still afew things you need to brush up on.

  • i gotta say from your last vid 0-10, i'd give a 1 but you have improved a lot since....this time i'd give a 3.5, you still sound like 80% kiwi though...especially with your vowels.

  • Okay so this one was heaapppsss better, rated 9.5/10 (: just one thing our a's don't sound like ay they sound more like ar normally, there is a few exceptions and it's Austrayyyylia you really have to drag that middle a out, but not to long coz then you'll ssound weird =] now I shall try and pick out the random word you say wrong. in particular - in particUUUUUlar, need that u in there. saying - sAYYYYing, not sarring or how you said it... we don't say anywho =] but amazing job x

  • It's quite convincing, but there's definitely a little tinge of something off. I give it an 8/10.

  • I need you to teach me!!! Please?

  • you're doing better :) maybe video 3 could be kiwi vs. aussie? example you moved on from the kiwi "eccent" to the aussie "ack-cent" :)

  • i get the whole thing about you thinking the australian accent and new zealand accent sounds the same. its just like australians thinking americans and canadians sound the same. so defiantly not offended :). overall i think you're doing a great job. and wow you're hot!

  • nice tips. you sound great. i give 8.5/10

  • oi you've improved like heaps from your last video :D but you still do sound like a new zealander. but around 2:33-4 & 2:40 you sounded pree aussie to me & i've lived here for most of my life.. maybe watch a movie that has alot of australian accent to it like.. crocodile dundee ? i don't know if it will help.. but give it a try ! :) 7 out of 10

  • haha yeahhh you sound more kiwi. i would give you a 5/10 for aussie accent and 8/10 for a kiwi accent, but nice try :)

  • You need to slur your words a lot more, your "ar" sounds need to be dragged on. Apart from that, you're quite talented, better than most I have seen.

  • @IMSOGODLY thx for the tips =)

  • heyy mate how ya goin um yea i gotta say mate that ur accent sounds like new zeland not aussie also not all aussie's sounds the same the tone i mean mainly blokes sound the same but shelia's can have any tone its the words like mate, fair dinkum n all that is how u mostly tell somone is an aussie

  • @CHANNI1121 thank you for letting me know. =)

  • Your accent is very well done.

    It just seems slightly enunciated.

  • I don't want to be mean, 2 maybe 2.5 you are American be happy with the race you are, your not an Aussie. Thanks Matey I am off to get a maggot bag, with blood then grab some tinnies I'm dryer than a pommies towel on satday night, have to go have a slash, then hit the fart sack. See ya round like a rissole, Cobber.

  • @MyAussieDay thx. im quite proud to be an american. i just like accents

  • 6/10 - I am an Australian and I thought you were closer to new zealand at least the Brittish is gone now.

My tip would be to open your mouth with the vowels like in "company" - the o sounds like the u in "up"

    Phrases:

Stick to g'day, "Gday mate" is not as often as peaople think

Oi! is said to attract attention. Never do the "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie (oi! oi! oi!)" in Australia anymore - we hate it. This was from overkill during the 2000 olympics.

"Ha's a goin'" translates to how are you

  • No Problem!!:)

    Keep up the good work!

  • I think you did rather well:)

I personally suck at accents but I'm IN Love

with the Aussie accent! Good job! I'll give you a...8.5!:)

  • (9) Your accent sounds good - whatever you're doing, keep it up! By the way, you look hot in this video!!! ;)

  • @hallecole lol thank you =)

  • I say 8 sounds pretty good. What other accents can you do?

  • @jex9 just the one. i used to be able to do an english accent quite well, did that one for about 6 months straight a few years ago. but after i started doing the aussie, everytime i tried to do the english one it fell right back into aussie lol

  • 9-10 Sounded good to me

  • @PragmaticLiving thx =)

  • I forgot to give you my rating of your accent...10!!!
