  • looked for this track for years, saw them in edinburgh 1966, Roy Orbison stole show, brill night

  • I was in their fan club in the 60's I was mad about them

  • I can see them sat on bar stools showing off there cuban heel boots, fab suits fab looks every teenagers dreamboats.xx

  • fab i agree radio luxembourg, and just luved m

  • fab, love these guys. x

  • Its much older than the Nino tempo version -the Paris Siusters did it in the 50s and it was an old song then! I think its a great song - this version by the Ryan boys has fuzz guitar (by Jimmy Page I believe) and bagpipes mixing. Fabulous idea. From the golden music year of 1966 - I remember this being played on Swinging Radio England by the Boss Jocks!

Nino Tempo later claimed the Ryans was a direct copy of HIS version -0 but listening to the two i cant hear that. Billy Fury did this too

  • I have looked for this song by these guys for years. I listened to them on radio luxembourg, favorite dj-Tony Brandon, when I lived in Germany.

  • @taffy5507 i'm very glad to found it...enjoy !!!

  • Beautifull song, but i prefer spanish version, made by Archiduques: Lamento de gaitas.

The singer of Archiduques was Tino Casal, who versioned Eloise of Barry Ryan years after.

Please, watch the videos, i cant put it here.

    Sorry for my english!

  • @SergioJdc I just found this and I LOVE it! Thanks for the tip! Look for April Stevens and Nino Tempo's version also

  • @martymefurst I hadn't know those version, thanks for it! But I think is the same song that the original, the letter of the Archiduques version is diferent. I like to two songs of Archiduques I think you must listen: "Quiero volar muy alto" and "Dimensión en sol mayor". Tino made a lot of versions of songs: "Life on Mars", "Eloisse", "Tal como soy", "Blanca estancia" and "No fuimos heroes";

I love "Muñecas", please, listen it.

Tino was wanderfull, but the world forgot him.

    Sorry for my english.

  • What a brilliant track. who would even consider using bagpipes in the 1960s pop record ? It really works well

  • @rarebutgreat It was first done that way by Nino Tempo and his sister April Stevens in 1963, but this is great version too.

  • @rarebutgreat Hoots mon! I loved it when it was released and felt it was underrated.
