This can arguably rank as one of the best all time bollywood movie confrontations. SRK is super no doubt. However, one has to remember this scene does give him the chance to emote more. Love the two of them together...+1 for the background music as well. Hindi movies rock!!!

My favourite scene from Mohabbatein is the last scene of the movie, when Megha after holding Raj's hand, holds her father's hand for the first time letting him know about her presence...and the expression on her father's face when he sees her... then when she puts her head on her father's shoulder, ITS THE SWEETEST AND PUREST SCENE I'VE EVER SEEN :-)

Amitabh Bachchan is just too strong in even in small roles or in bad characters. Even in the small roles like Anand he stand out, people still remember him as Babu Moshay. Even playing the son in Shakti where he is playing against Dilip Kumar, he stands out and even after 20 years he stands out against SRK

The script is in favor of SKR character. He is playing the good still Amitabh is so magnatic that the eyes cannot go beyond Amitabh Bachchan, the superstar of millennium. No wonder why he was selected as super star of the millennium.

There's no such thing as originality in fiction, yaar. IMO, originality is not the most important point in story-telling. So many of our modern stories are rip-offs of legends, myths, religious scriptures, etc. The twists and changes to the plots, the characters, the spirits in which the story were made of, the 'magic' that certain elements bring into the story.. that's what make people read/watch it over and over again.

I can see similarities when I think about it, but the actual plot is fairly different. Of course, the concept of a teacher teaching students outside of the classroom has been done to death (dead poet's society being one of the few that started the trend).

But copy??? Definitely not. The actual storylines are completely different. I would categorize this as a triad of love stories, whereas DPS examines youth and freedom of expression from a larger scope.

Most movies' plots/storylines/premises are based upon something be it a book, an actual event OR a prior movie...yes this has a plot line which is loosely similar to Dead Poet's Society WHICH has a premise of misfit of institution which SURPRISE came from a movie two years prior to its release "Au Revoir Les Enfants" (1987) WHICH contains features from "The Immigrant" (1917)...get the point yet?
