I uses Gajim both for IM (Jabber) on my Jabber account.
And when I connect to my Gmail account from Gajim, it automaticy tells me when somethings happens with my Gmail inbox. No need for polling, becouse Gmail pushed that information to me through XMPP (Jabber) protocol. It's greate for this.
now that is a tiny screen. . .

For Ubuntu and Debian I love gmail-notify, but it stopped working with the Ubuntu 10.10 update. :(

701 messages in your inbox??? Do you get that many email on a daily basis or do you just not like to read them?
