Santelli is against bail outs... period. It just so happened that day that the topic was mortgage bail outs, and he just made an off the cuff remark about starting a tea party.
That's all it took. The rest is history. Catalyzing events don't happen on any specific timeline... and anger can take time to grow. OWS is years later.

Not having a flat tax is only a good idea if you like picking winners and losers in industries, benefiting the cunning through loopholes, class warfare for selfish reasons, and allowing for lobbying to be beneficial in Washington. A flat tax isn't inherently non-redistributive. If spending is regressive and taxes are proportional, it still is redistributive.

Both because I DO value working to see adequate health care become a right of all Americans and I DO value an economy that works for the poor and middle class, rather than just for the rich. Santelli is against bail outs... period. It just so happened that day that the topic was mortgage bail outs, and he just made an off the cuff remark about starting a tea party.
That's all it took. The rest is history. Catalyzing events don't happen on any specific timeline... and anger can take time to grow. OWS is years later.

Not having a flat tax is only a good idea if you like picking winners and losers in industries, benefiting the cunning through loopholes, class warfare for selfish reasons, and allowing for lobbying to be beneficial in Washington. A flat tax isn't inherently non-redistributive. If spending is regressive and taxes are proportional, it still is redistributive.

Took my Pro-HCR sign to a Tea Party....A stack of hospital bills stapled to the corner.
Now, I won't say I was treated as badly as this, but I felt that hostility, and people got vocal with me about my sign. I knew I was despised by at least a portion of the crowd, but I managed to stick around and let them know that EVERYONE DESERVES AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE.
